    I made these a few days ago and I absolutely love them! I am on keto and my sweet tooth is often my weak point for sticking to my diet. I found the lupin flour and vital wheat gluten combination amazing to cook with. I was wondering though, is there an alternative flour I could substitute for the vital wheat gluten to make these delicious scrolls gluten free? Thank you so much for sharing your recipe :)

    I gave these are try today. Took them out of the oven around 22-25 minutes and sampled a small piece from the outside of a roll. It tasted a bit dry without much flavor, kind of like the "keto" hot dog buns and related frankenbread you can buy at the grocery store. However, the next snippet was much better - flavorful, moist and chewy, so figured they were done. I didn't want to overcook and have the inside of the rolls to taste like the first snippet from the outside edge. After letting them cool I frosted and sampled one of the rolls. Yikes, super chewy and gooey, but not in a good way! More like uncooked dough and very gummy, pretty much inedible. Maybe I didn't cook long enough? Anyone else or just me?

    I can't wait to try these. They look wonderful. You missed an opportunity for a SERIOUS money shot that probably would have skyrocketed this recipe. Check out the Divas Can Cook cinnamon roll money shot. I made hers for years before I was keto. Its the best traditional hands down. But yours seriously look like the best keto. Thanks for sharing your recipe and technique! 😋😋😋💗💗💗

      Thank you so much! I apologize for that! I've corrected it now so it should take you to the one I use. :) If you use 10SAMMYSAM on Amazon it should also give you 10% off! It's a nice brand because it's less yellow in colour than other lupin flour.

    It looks yummy, but oat fiber, wheat gluten? Is that keto? Certainly sugar is not.

    • @samanthabriden6310
      @samanthabriden6310  3 года назад +5

      Sugar is needed to active the yeast. It’s converted to co2 and alcohol. You can also use inulin in place of it. Wheat gluten is a protein (it’s the same amount of carbs per cup as almond flour) and oat Fiber is almost 100% Fiber. It won’t affect your blood sugar levels.

    It's not keto

    • @Canuckbelgo
      @Canuckbelgo 2 года назад +2

      It is actually. If you're referring to the teaspoon of sugar added to the yeast, the yeast "eats" it, not you. ;)

      @@Canuckbelgo wheat gluten , oat fiber are not keto friendly ingredients

    • @tomdavenport7717
      @tomdavenport7717 2 года назад +6

      By what definition? I have no problem staying in ketosis consuming oat fiber or vital wheat gluten. If you are sensitive to those ingredients it may not be for you but that doesn't make it not keto.

    • @Canuckbelgo
      @Canuckbelgo 2 года назад

      @@kirahardikar123 no, you are GLYPHOSATE-intolerant, like many (most?) North Americans.
      We're exposed to that crap here in Europe too apparently but to a lesser extent.
      It's still somewhat rare to hear of people with autoimmune disorders (ie Celiac etc.).
