That was fulfilling! Quinyon Mitchell...REAL...first round pick. Max Melton looked good too, Day 2. Tez Walker has got some juice, Roman Wilson is a problem, Malachi Corley is going to be a weapon. Johnny Dixon should be arrested for assault, and his teammate, Kalen King, needs to consider the UFL. Pearsall has to stop falling on the ground and Cowing needs to catch the friggin ball. Brendan Rice was ah'right, and the rest of them on both sides of the ball look like UDFAs.
Cam Heart was and is good too. Had a nice pick.
Chau Smith-Wade…rough. Bro looking like Chum Smith-Wade.
Luke McCaffrey had a catch on that nice little stop route against Quinyon. Underrated player who will be drafted. Quarterback’s best friend type. Tough.
@@joeynickles7962 McCaffrey keeps pushing off. Both of his receptions were the result of push offs. You're right about Cam Hart, he has skills. What we can't forget, and by that I mean me, is that some of these guys haven't played for like two months and don't have their sea legs. I can't hold Day 1 against them.
@@dkitt-1rep begins @ 1:45. Slow the video down to 1/4 speed. Go frame by frame. He did not push off. He stuck his foot in the ground and Quinyon’s momentum carried him past McCaffrey. McCaffrey left hand is down by his ankle.
Roman Wilson has some clean breaks. Hes impressive.

Quinyon Mitchell had the best reps didnt do the double hand press/ grab which idk why coaches still teach that its only for a tight relase for a big frame reciver you lock your hips doing that until your hands drop and now you loss at the los instantly after that. He used correct off hand technique and finished playing through the wr hands
He was very impressive. Advanced technically and pretty certain he's going to run well at the combine. Gonna force himself into the CB1 conversation.

Really enjoy your film.. Would suggest speeding up the fade in and out of the subjects names, as well as timing it earlier in the route. By the time I’m able to lock in on the names, the route is almost over. Otherwise, outstanding!

LOVED: Malachi Corley, Quinyon Mitchell. A big question I had with both was how would they do vertically. And well both did great in my eyes. Other highlights included Brenden Rice. He struggled against physicality, it showed up on tape, but he has the body and catch radius to be a nice deep threat. Roman and Ricky were cooking. Luke McCaffrey had some nice reps. Karen King bro, what are we doing?
QUINYON MITCHELL seems to be in good position In most reps. Does a great job staying in phase and uses the sideline to his advantage
Roman Wilson looks good
Brendan rice is strong asf. If he works on his press release moves he’ll be really good. He can already beat press with athleticism. If the Bears draft Caleb we should see where he falls 🐻⬇️

Jacob Cowing has the chance to be a game breaker at the next level, what he did alongside McMillan with Fifita should not be overlooked.

Go Blue. Roman is one of those people who will get drafted high without all of the "production" and hype.
This is why I pay no attention to 1-on-1 WR vs DB All-American Blue Chip Drills
Because when you have to run real precision routes at proper depth based on QB drops as in 3-step drop, 5-step drop etc.. Most WRs can't get open in time and the QB has to come off their read and on the the next.
You don't have time to be playing around inside the route. Get in and get out the route create sep and have your head turned around hands ready to catch the ball.
Overall I agree with your fundamental point. And your point is one reaspn why when everyone was going crazy for Michael Wilson last year I was more measured in my response. You can’t throw 4 jab steps and 5 head fakes while running a route in a real game. You need to get to a particular place at a particular time.
However, I don’t agree that these 1 on 1s have no value or shouldn’t be paid any attention. They help with the athletic evaluation for sure. You really get a chance to see how these guys move, good on good, rather having to rely on “hey, he had 3 interceptions against North Yukon Territory State and the receiving room consisted of 3 future accountants and 2 reindeers but it was a heckuva game.”
Your point is valid. You have to know what to take from and what to dismiss when in comes to 1 on 1s.
I thought Luke McCaffrey looked a lot better than where he’s getting drafted.

😂 The first one when I noticed him in the frame missed by 10 yards.
You have to remember he hasn’t worked with these receivers before. The timing is usually off in these all star games, especially down the field and especially early in the week.

You are correct. This is an exercise in technique, self-correction from rep-to-rep and competitiveness.

He will be fine. But this little tid bit of practice definitely did not look good
One thing to pay attention to is how poor the majority of these throws are too. Penix and Nix are NOT first rounders and arguably not even day 2 guys. This QB class is much the same as 2021. Lots of overhype and only maybe 1-2 guys will really make it. People are going to be to cost themselves and their staffs jobs by drafting some of these bums in the first round!
