WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH! I'M JONTY......MASTER......AND.....WELCOME.....TO THE 264TH....EPISODE....OF.....LOGO HISTORYYYYYY gets sucked into the Worldvision tornado
Note: This video only includes the Worldvision companies, not the ones from ABC.
Worldvision Enterprises was an American television program and home video distributor established in 1973 as the successor of ABC Films. They primarily licensed programs from others, rather than producing their own content. In 1979, Worldvision was sold to Taft Broadcasting, and was later sold to Aaron Spelling in 1988 and became part of Spelling, Inc. In 1999, Viacom acquired the rest of the Spelling Entertainment Group, and folded the distribution arm of Worldvision into Paramount Domestic Television.
My next logo history will be on Walt Disney Television.

I always wondered, as a late 90s kid I'd be creeped to this from the 3rd gen logo. Has anyone ever had a nickname for this? If I had one, it would probably be nicknamed "W of personified fear". With its zoom transition (fluid like it was used on a scanimate machine), combined with one of Andy Clark's synth tracks and you would probably be hiding behind a couch or tuning the TV to another channel during closing credits, especially if you're up late night.
When I was a tyke, I used to refer to it as "the football", then "The Worldvision football". Some of the names for the 3rd generation logo are Radar Globe III & Radar W III
I was born in the same period of the 3rd logo.
Also, 9:13 Still miss you to this day, Blockbuster.
Today I learned that Blockbuster owned Worldvision Enterprises at one point
Well I always remember the Worldvision Home Video logo especially when I used to have the Secret Squirrel 🐿️🐿️ VHS 📼 Video tape 📼 with the WVHV logo on. 😂

5:50 James Brown. We miss you.

12:20 this plaster is very weird. An home video logo being plastered by an television logo.
Not to mention, it's the most abysmal plastering attempt I've ever seen
That nostalgia tho.
Worldvision has a lot of bylines: "A Taft Company", "A Taft Broadcasting Company", "A Unit of Spelling Entertainment, Inc.", "A Blockbuster Entertainment Company", "A Subsidiary of Spelling Entertainment Group, Inc.", oh my!
It's an identification of property.
I remembered the WorldVision home video logo for the first time when I had the old VHS 📼 video of Hanna Barbera's "Secret Squirrel" 🐿️ (and Morocco Mole) many many years ago.
Ah the days of VHS 📼 eh. 😆
You know it’s a slow Saturday night when you spend 15 minutes watching the logo’s/sounds of a syndication company which no longer exist that was at the end of many TV shows/movies I watched as a kid back in the 90’s. 😑
6:55 I know this used in the old Smurfs show
Yep
Epic video bro
Nice one!
2:51 Viacom theme
Actually, it had more of a 80's feel because the H-B "Shooting Star" logo wasn't introduced until 1979 or 1980.
The H-B shooting star logo was produced in 1980 thru the late 90's
swhoooooosh
The 1st logo was before the charity of the same name got noticed
"Worldvision Home Video...WE'RE COMIN' AT 'CHA!" 📼 -their home video slogan

Strange how with this logo, there’s always a disclaimer stating they’re not affiliated with a charitable religious organization.
That's because there's a religious charitable organization using the same name, the disclaimer was put on when the other Worldvision began to get noticed
That’s because the World Vision organization sued Worldvision back in the 70s, but they eventually settled on the condition that Worldvision add a disclaimer emphasizing that they are not affiliated with each other.

It was founded in 1954 but, if my memory serves me right, it didn't have a logo until 1973.
