The best piece of relationship advice I've ever heard is, "Run as fast as you can towards God, and if you meet someone who can keep up, marry them" of course if you love that person too, but I love it.

This is so good. How people respond to your boundaries shows how much they respect you. In a healthy relationship, boundaries actually only draw you guys closer and create a healthier connection. When boundaries create distance and the relationship ends up breaking off, it was only what was going to happen regardless. When it's God's will, you don't have to strive or force a connection.
This is true. Unfortunately my 7-year relationship just ended because I was too selfish to properly respect her boundaries. I have recently leaned in to God, asked for forgiveness from Him and her both. I wish I realized this sooner, but am working to trust that this is all part of God’s perfect plan for each of our lives

Believe me when I say God will work everything out for good and if His will is for you to come back together in some near future, it will happen my friend. According to His timing. We can bank on the truth that His grace is sufficient-- and even when we mess up--He never stops pursuing us. I want to encourage you to receive that forgiveness also for yourself if you haven't already. Sometimes we are quick to ask God and and others for forgiveness and we forget to forgive ourselves too in the process. Be gentle with your heart, you are still growing, still learning, still taking it day by day. God is so proud of you and despite what happened in the past, His ways are higher and His plans are far greater. They haven't changed, despite what happened. Keep the faith and trust that He is working even when you can't see it or wrap your mind around what has happened, He is in the midst of it all. You are brave for taking that step of obedience in apologizing and asking for forgiveness from God and her. That is bold and God honors that. Your heart is beautiful, and whatever you are facing in this season going forward, trust that God is leading the way and His perspective is eternal. He withholds no good thing, and His timing is beyond perfect. Praying complete healing over your heart and a fresh perspective on your calling. There is purpose and nothing is ever wasted. Scars become a story we get to tell and The Author is not done writing your story. Or hers. Whatever it may look like, continue leaning in and pressing in. God is so proud of you.

That's amazing! You are inspiration for us older girls. Please could you make a youtube video on your relationship? How long you dated and the importance of purity no matter the age. I'm in my early 30s and my boyfriend of 2 years says since we are older and it doesn't matter if we make out, however; i dont feel comfortableto do so...(. I feel that there isn't enough info for older women. And it does at times get confusing.
Don't resent your partner for something they don't know. Give them a chance to understand how you feel and respect your boundaries. If they do, that'll only make you feel closer and trust them more.

My fiancé and I are both 40 and we are getting married in January which would be three days before our year dating anniversary…but from the beginning we talked about how important it was for spiritual then emotional and then physical. Purity doesn’t change with age, it’s important to stay pure bc God showed me that I would know who my future husband would be bc I would treat the relationship as precious…He was right. It can’t be explained other than a miracle. Glad to hear you guys were similar :)

@@1corinthians139 so we kiss but nothing more than on lips, and as far as leading, the man should be the leader yes, but not just leading in that area but he should be the one who makes decisions with you and you cannot be the one leading him…those relationships do not work…relationships can be tough for sure, but allowing God to lead above all, remaining disciplined and obedient to His command and word…you will see a whole difference!…:)

Good conversation. This is the kind of discussion that I like to "assign" my teen to listen to, with college and marriage just down the road, as the Lord wills. I want him as prepared for Christian marriage (and my other children but they are still very young), as possible. Thanks to you both!

I have a work friend, I had gotten to know her for 4 months. The friendship has taken a detour, her and I are not talking a lot. She moved on being friends with another guy, and they keep saying we are just friend. She sets up boundaries, and that is good. He isn't in that mind frame. It has come out, he is dealing with heavy mental issues. He always hits on her, acts very inappropriate. These actions actually gotten him in trouble at work with out bosses. As a believer I pray for her, her life, and protection over her life. And maybe 1 day, her and I our friendship will be back on track. Even if she isn't the 1 for me, I care about her, so.... she is in my prayers.
That‘s such a sweet thing to do, I don‘t know if you ever planned on telling her about this but it‘s so precious and she must be really greatful to have someone so thoughtful in her life! Much Love, Amelie

Regarding the 24 hour rule, though, I think perhaps it relates to the relationship dynamic-- sometimes it may be best to take a step back rather than immediately expressing a concern in the heat of the moment. That can be very ineffective in a relationship where there are communication difficulties.

Hearing your pineapple pizza story reminds me of something I learned while living in Hawaii. "Hawaiian" pizza is not a hawaiian thing they dont have that preference because pineapple is a foreign species to them that was brought in. Just a little fun fact that I thought of.

I appreciate you being real with me about it though. I've been having severe postpartum depression and the only thing that helps is sitting down with my Bible. I've been looking up words in the back of how I'm feeling and then I'll look up the verses beside it. I do ask that I can have prayers for my boyfriend though. We used to go to church together before we started dating and he doesn't read the Bible or has no interest in going back to our church.
