I owned a 71 old's Cutlass 442 that I bought from a very good friend in highschool from for $1000 in 1981 and me and my cousin did a lot of work to it and took it to the Atco speedway in Atco new jersey and it ran low 12's in the 1/4 mile and I absolutely loved it and from then on, I was a Old's cutlass guy and I loved all of them they were very powerful machines and had a great body style and were very reliable and very friggin fast 😎👍❤️
I dig ALL these rides. One of the best decades for autos, IMO. I've owned a 71, 72, and 77 Monte Carlo, 71 Skylark, 73 VW Bug, and a 74 Comet. My favorite was the 72 Monte. I now cruise in an 86 Elcamino on the weekends. Ride on!
I bought a new 70 Cutlass Supreme from a dealer in Ca. Best driving car I ever owned. It had been painted at the factory in a Cinnimon Bronze color . Beautiful fast and sweet looking car.
YES, Solon I owned Two 70's classics! Bought a brand new '79 Trans AM and through marriage inherited a '70 Cuda, 383, 4 speed. Wish I had one or both of them NOW.
I bought a new 1976 Buick Riviera in fire red metallic and a white padded landau roof. The 455c.i. motor was sweet and quiet. It was a land yacht that was probably the smoothest car I’ve ever owned, and there’s been a few. It wasn’t the fastest car I’ve owned, it was so comfortable. The pillow top crushed velour bucket seats, didn’t offer the support that you get from today’s cars, but you can’t get the same comfort that they offered.
Man.... now you hit my decade of cars, Most of the cars I've owned have been from the 70's. My first car was a 76 Camaro, I current have a 73 Buick Regal, I've had a 75 Nova, a 77 Volare, but my favorite car from the 70's was my 72 Dodge Dart 4 door. I bought it when I came back from Iraq the second time in 2005 when my kids were little, I just wanted something to drive everyday and have fun going to cars and coffee's and local car shows on the weekend. I even drove it down to San Antonio once for 2 weeks for a military leadership school and it just glided down the highway, I absolutely LOVED that car.
My favorite car from the 70's was my 1977 Lincoln Town Car with the Cream and Cordovan Luxury Group. I had that car from 1997 to 2005 when I lost it to hurricane Katrina.
I turned 16 in the year 1975 and by 1976 I already had purchased my third car (1st "65" Mustang, 2nd "68" Camaro RS) a 1970 Camaro RS. Out of all the very cool cars I have owned, this the "70" Camaro is by far my favorite.❤
My favorite 70s vehicle that I had was my very first vehicle. 1977 international scout, had the pickup top and the full top. Was so rusty , I could put my foot in the holes on the quarter panels. I worked hard, did all the body work, put , 15 spoke turbine wheels on it and a hood scoop. Painted it orange, won two trophies with it at 18 years old. It had a V8 304. Man I got caught up in memories lol
I bought a 1971 Nova SS with a 396 4 speed when I was 15 1/2 for $1250 in 1981 and my dad set it up at my high school as the shop class project car. It was completely restored by the time I turned 16. I also had a 73 Gran Torino 2 door, a 78 Chevy Scottsdale long bed, 73 Dart Sport 340 4 speed w/ a factory sunroof, 73 Nova SS, 76 VW Rabbit 2 door (POS), and when I was stationed in Germany I had a 1975 Chrysler Simca 2 door (possibly the ugliest car ever made. Paid $175 for it) MB...Thanks for the channel Solon, and thanks for using my music...
Thank you for being a long time viewer! That was a great car you owned! I hope viewers are being drawn to your channel! I get a lot of great comments on your music all the time!
I like the Dodge Dart Sport. I had a 1970 Dodge Challenger SE when I was 20. I bought it in 1971. I wish I had that car now. MB. Another great selection of cars.
My 70s cars were a 72 Starsky & Hutch Gran Torino, and a 73 Nove with a 350 engine. My work car cause I was undercover was a black on black Monte Carlo with swivel front seats
Tonight I would pick the Lil Red Express truck. The car from the 70s would be my 71 Plymouth Duster. Red with the black stripes down the side. 318 automatic. Black high back bucket seats. Sharp car. Wish I had it back. That would show well with my red coupe.
In 1981 I bought a 1972 Grand Torino Sport for $1300. Baby blue with a dark blue vinyl top. It was powered by a 351 Cleveland motor and 3 speed automatic transmission. One Ford i wish I would of kept.
My car that I bought new was a 1970 Chevy Chevelle with a 4speed 350 engine position and it was a great car .I think that the 57 Chevy is a good deal. Enjoy your video each week thanks Solon.
Mine was the 1970 spelt bumper Camaro I had a black one I gave it to my cousin because he wanted to show it and he had it all the way until he died and then it went to a museum
Very cool story.👍🏼 What year did you purchase your car, and how old were you? In what year did you gift your cousin the Camaro and when did he pass? Please excuse all the personal questions. My 3rd car I purchased was a "70" Camaro in the year 1976 at the age of 17. I really enjoyed your story, and feel it's quite unusual. Putting a time frame round the story would be beneficial for me in understanding the vibes and whatnots. Perhaps this all sounds odd to most but that's me.🤷🏽♂ Thank you.
@@leewaken5059 I got the car when I was 17 years old and it was my dad who got me the car and I went to drive in movies with it only I did get a lot of looks when I drove the car it was in 1981 when he got me this car it came from an old lady who's husband passed away and she didn't want the car any more but when I gave it to my cousin because he didn't have any car he told me he would just show the car at car shows he did that all the way up until 1994 when my dad died of cancer but I still had one car left and that was the one my grandpa got me when I was 16 years old it was a 1977 Corvette
You asked if we owned any cars of the 1970's. I owned a 1972 Cheveolet Impala. My favorite car that was presented on this video was the 1976 Xhevrolt Camaro.
My Impala was more dependable than the new car that I had at that time. (The new car that I had at that time was a 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass wagon. That car was a disaster. It spent more time in the repair shop than being driven.) I ended up giving the Impala to mechanic in order to pay for repairs for the Oldsmobile. I wish that I still had that Impala.
In 1981 I had a 71 Chevlle traded for a 72 Blazer to go 4 wheeling with my little brother . Had to get rid of it because my first wife was pregnant with our daughter and she was having a hard time getting in it. So we got a 79 white Z28 . Man I loved that car ,I kept it cleaner then any car I've had before are since. It got stolen. In 86 I bought a 79 Trans Am ,it was gold with custom birds . One on the hood and the two on both side of the car. Man that car looked good. Thanks for the video and your time to put it together.
My favorite car was a 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner 383 with a 4-speed pistol grip shifter and air grabber hood. Wish I had it today it was a great very fast car. I do have a 72 Cuda now so that helps ease the pain of not having the Roadrunner.
I’ve owned enough cars that the state told me I needed a dealers license! A few favorites were 1966 olds delta 88 two doors hard top,1970 Torino GT 351 bucket seats At,and a1972 Ranchero Gt 351 4v 4 speed manual! I’d love to own any of these again!

1977 Pontiac Grand Prix SJ, white with red interior. Was fast had rear air shocks, and it was a great body style. IMO, '77 was the last year of the Olds Cutlass and Pontiac Grand Prix. Drove it throughout college at UGA, and had lots of great times in it.

Another great show young man! The 70 mustang takes me back, my dad bought a 70 mach1 brand new, man! You know I loved that car, I kept the window sticker for a long time but eventually lost it. I can't remember the exact price but it listed at 36 hundred and some few odd dollars. I had a 74 Buick lesabre 2 door, it was big but it was beautiful inside and out, I got a lot of compliments on it but it had a 455 2barrel carb, 9 mpg highway 6 in town, I had the heads redone new carb but no help, new husband new dad had to let it go 😢 keep up the good work buddy!
MB Hello Solon! I loved my 1978 Ford LTD II ❤ It had a 351W styled like a Torino with long hood like Continental. Crushed velvet seats, sooo 1970s in Brown
I’m not a big fan of most mid to late 70’s cars, but the 74 Duster looks like a really strong buy, and the price is pretty good. Looks like it’s been garaged and cared for.
Mr. B. Here ! 🍩☕️👀😎👍. Am old guy 72 ; I still have my two Oldsmobile Cutlass S & 442 finally vehicle is GMC 1976 Sprint ! Many do not care for the Colonnade A body’s, that fine . I’ve seen what you can put into these platforms, also sheet metal was made lite that unlike pass platforms , the lbs tops maybe 3750 or so. My 1970 442 Convertible 3800 lbs, or so . To many toys , LOL !
My 1977 Caprice Classic that I bought from my grandfather a bullet proof badazzz. It had 500 extra pound springs in the back for hauling their Airstream. I absolutely loved it. Only had to keep regular maintenance and a water pump change. Fantastic car.
I owned a 1973 Pontiac lemans that could have been a luxury GTO! Loved that beast and traded it for a motorcycle after blowing the motor while at Fort Stewart, GA in the Army
The 79 Trans Am looks pretty good. If the underside looks as good as the topside, it could be a great buy. I’ve always been a Pontiac fan. It’s a shame GM killed the true muscle car line, instead of killing Chevy. The only Chevy’s I’d consider would be a 56 Bel Air, 2 dr hardtop, or 69 Z28 Camaro.
Wow, that VW MicroBustle is fantastic ! My fave [and only] 70's car I owned was a 1970 Jeep Wagoneer I bought off a mining prospector, 350 Buick engine, 3 on the tree, 9-leaf springs. Rode like a lumber wagon but would go through anything. Not the fastest, but traffic scattered as it came lurching down the road...When it snowed, I'd go out and make beer money yanking people out of the ditch. Center u-joint shook apart on me 20 miles up a Forestry road, backed up onto a stump. dropped the prop shaft, locked the hubs and came home in front-wheel drive. Once I got on pavement, dropped the right side wheel onto the gravel shoulder at times to allow some slippage. Got home OK...
Hey Solon, that Matchbox Charger is either a 66 or 67. Never made ‘em in 64! If console goes to back seat it’s a 66. Front seat console only, 67. Either way, MB
Mine was a 76 Camaro type LT 350 engine 350 auto trans Midnight blue metallic with a half white vinyl top Haven’t seen any with that color combo on line
I bought a 1970 Camaro for $600 as my first car. Blew up the transmission in two weeks. Bought a 1973 Nova for $50. The 307 under the hood had wasted cam lobes and ran like trash. Bought a 1975 Ford Granada for $100. Drove it for about two years before selling it for $100. Was given a 1975 Chevy stepside pick up. The floors and rockers were gone. Sold it to my cousin for $100. Found a 1974 Chevy Malibu and put nearly 100k miles on the 350/350TH, before the rust seperated the body from the chassis. Then bought a silver 1980 Camaro Berlinetta for $1000. Drove that for a good few years before I spun a rod bearing in the 305. Also had a 1975 Pontiac Ventura with the smallest V8 I ever had @ 260 ci. Then in about 2009, I found a 1974 Chevelle Malibu Classic and that's been my weekend ride, since.

That was a great one for sure! My ex-father-in-law owned one, and I loved that car!
@@Americanrodshop Man, the memories 😎👍🏼
vw bus bug, it looks really cool
"MB", 1970 GTO was my favorite car I owned
I owned a 1973 Pontiac lemans that could have been a luxury GTO! Loved that beast and traded it for a motorcycle after blowing the motor while at Fort Stewart, GA in the Army
I really like that Red mustang.
Here we go.
Thanks for watching!
I think the VW conversion look awesome, I wish he would have put wing doors, that go,up, But looks great the way it is.
Love the bug, alot of good work done.
"MB" I had a 1970 Formula 400 Firebird, and a 1970 Dodge Charger RT. Both of which I wish that I still had.
the firebird
That vw is slick as sh=t would love to have it
owned a 1970 monte carlo in highschool. it was a triple black,ss 454.
Hey Solon, that Matchbox Charger is either a 66 or 67. Never made ‘em in 64! If console goes to back seat it’s a 66. Front seat console only, 67. Either way, MB
Loved my 1970 Mach 1
YAYYYYYYYYYYYY

Mine was a 76 Camaro type LT
350 engine 350 auto trans
Midnight blue metallic with a half white vinyl top
Haven’t seen any with that color combo on line
76 Monte Carlo with a 350. I want it back
I owned a 1970 Mercury Cyclone GT. 351 Cleveland with a c6 auto. Blast to drive
77 Olds cutlass salon
