It's much easier in most parts of the europe. Almost every house has three phase power. So running a haas vf2 or my fehlmann is no problem at all.

Question.
CNC machine needs 220v and I have 240v , do I need to add a drop down voltage transformer? Thanks! As for wiring it's about protecting the wire so it doesn't start a fire. And mechanical protection for the wire to stop a short. Fyi. Code is simple if you can read a law book. But YES consultant or ask a sparky for proper installation. Cheers.

With the 3 phase machinery & cost of electricity, would it typically cost more to run them from single phase with the rotary converters vs running on 3 phase service?
My RPC cost about 15 to 20 cents per hour to run according to their website. 3 phase is not an option where my shop is located. Obviously most industrial areas have 3 phase but you pay a premium for it so it probably a wash.
I am looking at one of these X7, I currently run my mill and welders on a modern 415v generator, what type of current draw does the X7 need, and could I continue to use my generator to power it.
With the Syntec controller they recommend a 30 amp circuit.

That sounds correct. As a rule the RPC will be double the size of the load. It will come with one if you need it.
I got a kO LEE surface grinder it the machine has three lines coming in how do I know which line takes the 3 phase wire?
Jasper, I’m not sure I understand your questions. Three phase power uses there hot wires. So you hook up all three.
@@MaDuceRulesTwo of the lines coming out of the phase converter going to the equipment are single phase the the third one is three phase. My surface grinder has three lines coming in marked line 1 2 3. The wiring diagram on the door shows the three lines coming in above it it just says three phase lines.
@@jasperjones6962 ok connect the three lines from the phase converter to the the motor wires 1, 2, and 3. If the motor runs backwards switch any two wires and you’re done.
Great video! Could you possibly tell me the max amps the x7 draws under full load?
Accord Syil it draws 8kw at full rated load. So the math says 21.053 amps at 380V.
Im in Sweden and its easier here its only 3 phase 380 with a neutral . so your transformers secondary winding between phase and neutral is not 110 its 220 .

It comes with the X7 here in the states. Takes you 3 phase 220 and boosts it to 3 phase 380. The X7 is a 380 volt machine.
Is this phase converter noisy?
They make noise for sure. Noisy IDK. If it was next to the machine you wouldn’t hear it over the Mill running.
