Mathias Schoenaerts and Michelle Williams, that itself is enough to make you see the movie. They are that kind of pair, whose love grows slowly but when it catches momentum, it’s a lifetime one. I esp. love how despite being a War Veteran and Lieutenant for German forces, he is gentle, kind and appreciates Lucile’s silent presence. He never forces her but it’s like he is eager to know her more, like she draws him despite him being aware of the obvious differences and danger. As for Lucile, she may seem timid and withdrawn but damn, she is fierce and has a fire that even takes Bruno aback as he slowly gets to know her. She is beautiful in the most simplest way.
I want to see this movie so bad, especially after I read and watched Sarah's Key. Wonderful video, and way to keep the viewer guessing about the story while still making it completely captivating to watch. Love it!

Both introverted, sensitive people, the time they lived in was to heartbreaking. they played for different sides, and they both knew it would never have worked, they’d never have been able to have any sort of future together, let alone know where they’d be during this time! I was really hoping they’d kiss, but he showed his love and affections for her by showing up to protect her and help her to leave, she didn’t need to do much he knew she loved him too but maybe having a proper goodbye would have been harder :(
