This been bugging my brain for a time, I was thinking how to do the same thing for a rotary switch. Thank you!

You explain the motor positions go on the top two pins, but your picture shows the motor in the middle pin positions?

I have an old hofmann brake lathe i wanna make the one motor forward reverse switch. But the swith on it now has 4 tires and the motor has 3 but go into 2 separate power boxes. Idk if you can help or not

Hmm sounds weird, I’m not sure how it works with a lathe since you do need to control speed but couldn’t you control the direction in the same way I did then direct that power into the speed controller?

@@MikaelAbehsera is one of those on off switches that has 4 wires going to it and it's just to move the cutter no speed control

Does this work for a brushless fan power cable? Can't understand why your method did not work for this application.

it should? if it has positive and negative, and those can be reversed (dc motors usually) then I dont see why not

Will this work for bldc motor?
Is there any way to switch the polarity, dynamically via code.

    • @MikaelAbehsera

it should yes, dynamic control via code requires an Hbridge module, I forget the other name for it but they do exist and arent crazy expensive

Would this work for a power window application in a vehicle?
