    So the 604 designation does not refer to the cubic inch of the engine if I understand correctly. These are 350s that make around 400 hp and are intended for circle track racing and the output is intentionally limited for competitive racing? Some of them come sealed from the factory so there’s no monkey business?

  • @watermanone7567
    @watermanone7567 6 месяцев назад +1

    Very satisfying seeing stuff broken down & I can't wait to see it put back together..... I heard you mention like the "deck" can't be
    done b/c it's already at a minimum as per race specs? Do the Race Officials break down & measure everything?? If yes, WoW !

      I heard that too. There probably is a rule and I wonder if they actually measure, I really doubt anyone fails tech because the deck is 0.006 short. I think it's to stop guys from running low deck bowtie blocks with 8.2 or 8.9" deck.

      Drivers that take their performance seriously will regularly do this. Race Engines need to be freshened up and rebuilt after a hard season to perform at their peak for the next one. Any ICE racing series sees engine rebuilds at some point, as that is the powerplant of your vehicle.

      @@timothybayliss6680 Seems like I remember seeing a 605 RB Mopar built on an Indy Maxx block with a very slightly bigger bore center (4.84 vs. 4.80). I'm guessing that allows for a Chevy crank and more piston options in addition to a fuzz more displacement...? I dunno. I've never built anything like that.
