The dot goes to the thing. 😁 love it. BTW, the date code on that micron gddr6 is 8R. Which means it was part of the bad batch of 2018 micron. Anything prior to 8Y will usually have all chips fail within a month or 2 of each other.

@@iBoardRepair I thought that was a nice bit of humor, even though it clearly wasn't intentional. It's nice to see another RUclipsr doing in depth graphics card repairs. Keep up the good work!
I have a Gigabyte 2070 Windforce 3x that I'm trying to get working, it has the 8S chips but they've tested fine on MATS. Could it be possible that MATS is wrong? I just did the normal 20mb test
@@twizz420 Yes. It's possible for mats to not detect marginal errors in the memory. Do you get artifacts? Error 43? You will want to run mods rather than mats if that's the case.
Thanks for the technique that allows me to even out the solder balls by sanding them with sheet paper. I didn't know about that, but now I know. That really saves some time, I don't need to use solder wick on the whole chip every time I see one too tall solder ball. It is interesting to see professional finding the most efficient way of doing things. PS. You need preheat GPU PCB to at least 100C before soldering anything to it.
Again that technique was useful. I used solder balls, which should make it even, but for some reason the VRAM chip was tilting to one side. I sanded them with printer paper over a flat surface and then it got flat and now the chip sat flush on PCB. Thanks again!
I'm working on this exact card, and interestingly, it's C1 as well. But I can't lift that chip. Tons of flux, full heat at 480, even trying to leverage the chip off with tweezers. Won't go. Any suggestions?
Amazing video man, I have a 2070 super which i think it has a dead Vram so I'm going to try the Mat software. I've been using my 1060 for the past year and just remembered about my 2070 that's been collecting dust xD Question do you take GPU repair request? hey man great video tho one question ..u mentioned ripped pads is technician's fault picking the cheap too early without enough heat but on tech cemetry's video on asus 2080ti turbo artifacting video it looks like something else...can you please check it out ?
hello! Is there a way to buy the vram module without having to buy another graphics card, or you can remove the module leaving it with less memory but without artifacts?, thanks you are the best
You can buy from aliexpress, but it is kind of a gamble if you are going to get a good one or not. They also have them on Ebay. You cannot leave a module off the board, it will not work as far as I know.
@@iBoardRepair Hello, thank you very much for answering, I'm looking for the chip and I can't find it anywhere, it's the 8SA77 D9WCW is there any way to search for a compatible one? it's a kfa2 rtx 2060
Hi, does that software work with system ram? Or is there something similar? I have some sticks that throw errors and would be really helpful to narrow down which module to replace

I have been microsoldering on iPhone motherboards for the last 5 years as my main work, which I learned from youtube and whatever sources I could find. I have recently started working on gpus mainly because I wanted a way to buy cheap cards to mine with.
Hi, i canr seem to make mats mods to work, errors appears, is there a required motherboard specs to run that, and should my hardrive plugged in when using mats?
Hey, what if I don’t get monitor input from my gpu? I copper modded vram modules and painted the exterior (yes I disassembled everything and taped contacts) I just dont know where it went wrong, I know shims were a bit displaced maybe touching a condensator? Just sent it to repair specialist, is this usually a lost case with gpus? Or pretty fixable? So far specialist is implying for vram reball reflow
Do you get fan spin or lights? Unfortunately I need a lot more info to make any kind of diagnosis. I very much doubt reflowing the vram will fix anything, and usually even reballing wont either. The copper mods can sometimes short components. Did it work at all afterwards? I take in some gpus for repair but my normal charge is about $250 so it is usually only worth it for more valuable cards.
Weird question. Are there any vram chips that will fit a 3060ti besides it’s 8gb vram chip? I’ve seen something about flashing a card and getting it to work with higher VRAM and a bigger equivalent chip
why not use a solder wick? will it damage something? just curious. I'm going to be doing my first memory chip swap soon on a gigabyte 2070. Your feedback would be appreciated.
i've got a 3060ti error 43 i got in a trade and just wonder where people get the chips to repair them from lol. It's not worth it to me to buy another broken card for 200-300 bucks in hopes it'll fix it. I wish I could but eh.

I dont think so, but to be honest I am not an expert with gpus.
Hello there. What is the name of the vram test program used? Could you please write the name of the program and where to download it, my friend? 👍🏻 thanks
It is either called "mats and mods" or "vram test tools". Unfortunately, I have no good download link for that anymore.
It is practically a surgery. I won’t be able to do this at home without the right equipment. Who can I hire? Who am I gonna call?
is vram replacement a temporary or permanent fix? does vram replacement last long?
It should be a permanent fix if the vram was the actual problem and not just a symptom of some other problem
How and where I can find the software to scan the board?
what temp did you use ?
HI arron you're using sandpaper to lower the balls or just plain paper?
Just plain paper. Super fine sand paper would probably work better, but I have never tried.
