Saying that Babymetal is part of entire subgenre called Kawaii metal is entirely accurate. But that is not the way i would put it. They invented the genre and named it. I think that is putting the cart in front of the horse. All that Kawaii metal really means is 'similar to Babymetal'. Nobody can deny that Babymetal is very similar to Babymetal. That they are considered to be part of any genre or subgenre at all is only proof of humans' desire to name and catagorize things even when it doesn't make any sense. Babymetal is Babymetal and they do whatever they want. Their last album had irish folk, latin, a thai rapper, indian complete with bollywood dancing and more. They don't do Kawaii metal. Whatever they do becomes Kawaii metal because they did it. They could fart for 20 minutes and that would be kawaii metal. It's a genre that was invented only to describe them.
Some advice about BABYMETAL reactions: tl;dr: Don't use compilations for BABYMETAL, we have a better solution. Please don't rely solely on videos that are on RUclips (mainly compilations); they're not meant to be used for reactions as the mix of concerts and generally bad editing can make it confusing for those new to BABYMETAL. Also, you won't get the full BABYMETAL experience with these. Some people think they are safer for reactions, but they're not. They may get past the bot initially, but you still stand the chance of your video being blocked later and the possibility of having copyright strikes. Some fans made a selection of "best" performances for each song; I would suggest using it for future BABYMETAL reactions. Here is the link : docs.google.com/document/d/1DqPsavocgGvCyZfUHvrkgJ5KZMaMkmMgjy2UxNNG96E/edit# You should note though, that your video will almost definitely be blocked if these are included in your video and that you will need to do what we call "link & sync". It's very easy and made easier with the help of Reactor Hub, a tool made for helping avoid blocks etc. We made a short tutorial on how to use it : drive.google.com/open?id=1X6hN2BdyKzFmVN9XMEo2M89hsKY0B-bnnHRVVMNY13w Using that you are safe from blocked videos and even future copyright strikes, since no copyright material is included in your video :). There is even a discord for Reactor Hub if you need any help. I'm hoping you will have fun with BABYMETAL in future reactions :).
Thoroughly enjoyed your reaction. You're now on my tier 1 reactor's list on anything and everything Babymetal. I'll watch whatever Babymetal song that you will react to next. I would totally understand if you find some of their songs does not suit your taste. Btw, this song is basicly a love letter from Babymetal to their fans around the world that are known as THE ONE.
“Tales of the Destinies”would be perfect for you. Dreamtheater are fans. Babymetal has songs in nearly every sub genre of metal. Tales of the Destinies is their prog metal song and is really the first half of the One which you just reacted to. Nice reaction btw
I may add: "Tales of the Destinies" also virtually is the first part of this song ("The One"). Both songs, originally, were meant to be one song but were divided later into two. But they kept the transitional part between the two parts on the actual album.
Thanks for doing this reaction ! This song is Babymetal's love letter to their fans. Babymetal named their fans and themselves all together: The One. The only video of them which actually has subtitles, so you missed that part and you never get a chance again .;-) This was the first time performance and this is the hybrid Japanese and English version, a full English version also exists which they've performed live almost exclusively, even in Japan. Using English in Japan has a sort of coolness factor. "like going to see a foreign band". Almost certain this is the studio audio, Babymetal live MVs they use studio audio a lot of the time, because they want to get the video out quickly after it's been performed, but still have high quality audio. Then slowly work on the DVD/Blu-ray version and make all the choices on what sounds the emphasis or fix up. All Babymetal songs are very different, they cover a lot of different metal sub-genres. This song is definitely prog-metal, Dream Theater inspired. You'll see how different their songs are when you check out other songs. And they will really change their style between songs. People think Babymetal would be some gimmick, but the adults working on the music really put a lot of time and effort into the music, they really have a love and respect for metal music and music in general. The producer that started Babymetal was working with bands and interest in Japanese music industry in rock, metal, etc. bands was being drowned out by a lot of other genres. So they asked him to work in the kids division. His instinct kicked in and he started to look for talent in the kids division. And this 10 year old girl Suzuka Nakamoto (Su-metal the main singer of Babymetal) had a really loud singing style and made the connection: loud voice+loud metal music. And after a some 2 years he was allowed to work with her on this crazy side project, the company wouldn't put any money into it. The just got him out of the bands division after all. They were not gonna take a financial risk, but they let him work with her as part of a bigger project. Eventually Babymetal took off after years of hard work and split off to do it's own thing. Babymetal's third album reached, while singing in almost all Japanese, the #1 spot on the US Billboard rock/metal album chart. Something no Asian band has ever done. And Babymetal celebrated their 10th anniversery this year. They did loose one member. Their current solution is to have a dancer on stage to fill a void. And yes, part of Babymetal's idea is maybe Babymetal can be a gateway band into metal for people, at first just in Japan. Sales for metal albums, not just Babymetal has actually increased in Japan. The second largest music industry in the world by revenue. And some TV station claimed 1/3 of Babymetal fans in Japan are girls/women. I can definitely highly recommend Tales of the Destinies. Even Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater was impressed with the song song "and am BLOWN away by what you've played me of @BABYMETAL_JAPAN! "Tales of the Destinies" is full-on PROG METAL" (his son Max has a band and is a Babymetal fan and suggested it). The song The One is based on part of Tales of the Destinies and they flow into each other on the album.
This is the studio version over live footage. Interestingly, this song used to be the latter half of the song Tales Of The Destinies from the Metal Resistance album and they still segway into one another on the album. It was split into two songs as the original 12 minute length was considered too much for listeners. Tales of The Destines is BABYMETAL’s tribute to Dream Theater and is one hell of a ride! This explains your observation about guitar style perfectly!
Here’s a little guide and maybe tips for you: 1. As Su-Metal said : When you listen to BabyMetal, don’t just listen, FEEL. 2. Since you mentions Petrucci, listen to Tales of The Destinies, it’s an homage song to Dream Theater and even Portnoy mentioned them and he liked it a lot. 3. BabyMetal doesn’t stick to only one genre, they have Djent(Karate), Prog(Tales of the Destinies), PowerMetal (Road of Resistence), Thrash (Sis.Anger), and a lot more. Please have more reactions to them, you’ll like it
Trap Metal: BxMxC Ska Metal: JAVA! Viking Metal: Meta Taro Carnatic: Shanti Shanti Shanti Normally I don't worry too much about labels like these, but it's so obvious that Babymetal is intentionally trying to exemplify specific genres with some of their songs.
Nice reaction! Many people are impressed with this song, I am one of them. And besides this, they have different types of songs so listen to them. I recommend you "Road of resistance live in japan". I looking forward to next BABYMETAL reaction.
This is a special song and performance from BABYMETAL, its a thank you to their fans known as THE ONE. BM is a very unique band, the journey down the Foxhole is DEEP but fun and heartfelt. BABYMETAL 10 years and still Legends 🤘🤘🤘 All hail The Fox God
Thank you for a good reaction and some nice comments! It has been mentioned already that their song "Tales of the Destinies" is an obvious Dream Theater homage. It should also be mentioned that TotD and "The One" were originally intended to be a single huge song. They have been released separately in the end, but still share some of the melodies. So it's no coincidence that this reminds you of Dream Theater as well. I think John Petrucci is the number one when it comes to beautiful and emotional sounding lead guitar, so it's great compliment that it reminds you of him. The lyrics are not the most sophisticated, but the message is actually very nice. The idea behind it is that both the fans and the band members themselves (and everyone else involved) make up a collective unity called "The One". They created it to say thanks to the international fans, many of which went out of their way to learn Japanese to be able to sing along with them. It's a really nice gesture, and I think the music video with the girls hovering over a sea of loving fans captures it perfectly. The sound was actually studio audio, hence no crowd chants. :-) But if you are looking for crowd participation, you have come to the right place with BABYMETAL. Perhaps try "Headbanger": ruclips.net/video/QEsOaMbNFww/видео.html. BABYMETAL live is as good as it gets, it's a complete package of fun.
You are literally BEGGING us to recommend "Tales of the Destinies"! That is the song immediately preceding this one, and the superior song by far. An explicit homage to Dream Theatre, of course. - If you want to see more of the Kami band (a solo from each member, actually), you should watch the "Mischief of Metal Gods", which is a live intro to "Rondo of Nightmare". - If you want to listen to Su sing, people seem to prefer "Akatsuki", and although it's not a personal favorite, the solo's are nice. - If you want to know what Moa and Yui can do on their own, "Sis. Anger" is a really good and surprisingly heavy song. - If you want their most important live performance, then find the 2014 Sonisphere version of "Ijime, Dame, Zettai". But you really should read a bit of the story behind that gig first!
@@LouieGrandie There isn't a good performance video on RUclips but good ones do exist on other sites. But for "Tales of the Destinies" I actually recommend the audio version so that he can hear every detail of that very technical song.
@@LouieGrandie Here is a good video for Tales, but RUclips will probably block his video if he reacts to it without editing it. vk.com/video408956197_456239019
Since you mention "dream theater" you should definitely try Babymetal's "Tales of the Destinies" ;-) you'll be pleasantly surprised! (The problem is that there is no official video of it on RUclips) They did it live once during their Tokyo Dome Concert (something that was considered impossible!) (There is an Audio version that usually avoids a Copyright claim)
As an aside you mentioned the size of the audience in your comment - most BABYMETAL concerts in Japan are around 20,000. However Tokyo Dome was 55,000 each night for 2 sold out nights and held in essentially an indoor baseball dome. If you though that suspended triangle they sang in was high you need to see the Tokyo Dome platform :)
Ok, try "Road of Resistance" which was made with Dragonforce or the super progressive metal song "Tales of Destinies". Or, maybe "Rondo of Nightmare". You'll like it.
The thing with BABYMETAL is: Expect the unexpected. I don't know, how much you actually know about them, but let me give you a short introduction: Some facts about them: BABYMETAL is around since 2010 when the three girls were 11 and 12 years old. They originally were part of the school-themed idol-project Sakura Gakuin (Cherry Blossom Academy) but parted from SG in 2013 to become an independent act. Back then the band mainly consisted of three girls: Suzuka Nakamoto (aka. SU-METAL, lead vocals) Yui Mizuno (aka. YUIMETAL, backing vocals and dance) and Moa Kikuchi (aka. MOAMETAL, backing vocals and dance) complemented by a bunch of stellar musicians called Kami-Band (Band of Gods) at their live performances. They already have seven albums out: "BABYMETAL", rel. 2014 (studio album) "Live at Budokan - Red Night Apocalypse", rel. 2014 (live album) "Metal Resistance", rel. 2016 (studio album) "Live at Wembley", rel. 2016 (live album) "Metal Galaxy", rel. 2019 (studio album) "Legend Metal Galaxy - Day 1", rel. 2020 (live album) "Legend Metal Galaxy - Day 2", rel. 2020 (live album) BABYMETAL also has several live recorded shows out on DVD/Blu-Ray which is a good thing because, believe it or not, they are one of the best live bands out there (which earned them many best-live-act-awards). They also never get boring because of their diversity in music styles. Regardless they always manage to stay recognizable. Unfortunately, Mikio Fujioka (their lead guitarist) died from an accident in January 2018 and Yui Mizuno left BABYMETAL in fall 2018 because of health reasons. But despite all that, the band is going strong and achieved, as first Asian act ever, a number one notation at the billboard rock charts with their recently released album "Metal Galaxy". My recommendations for the start are: *"Ijime, Dame, Zettai"* live at Sonisphere Festival 2014 in the UK ruclips.net/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/видео.html *"Karate"* live at Download Festival 2016 in the UK ruclips.net/video/qXF94RGYEmw/видео.html *"Rondo of Nightmare"* live at Nippon Budokan in 2014 ruclips.net/video/8WBDiLMNZcE/видео.html *"Syncopation"* live video compilation ruclips.net/video/uZ11JUZM8V0/видео.html *"Road of Resistance"* live at Saitama Super Arena in 2015 ruclips.net/video/zTEYUFgLveY/видео.html *"Shanti Shanti Shanti"* live at Glastonbury Festival 2019 in the UK ruclips.net/video/w5AlEavdipA/видео.html *"Akatsuki"* live at Nippon Budokan in 2014 ruclips.net/video/g2372C5PJLM/видео.html *"Akatsuki"* (Unfinished Version) live at Makuhari Messe in 2013 ruclips.net/video/uq_RHT19nMs/видео.html
Nice Reaction It does indeed seem a bit long-winded but you have to see it in the context that this is the finale of the show, and then it seems pretty acceptable to me.
I hated to subscribe with it being at 666, but I did it anyway because I really liked the video, and I really appreciate your review and insights. The song itself is just an ode to their fans, which are referred to as The One. I hope you'll do some of their heavy stuff in the future, as there is a lot of it, and some really showcase the lead singer's vocal abilities, and ones that also showcase their live band, the Kami Band. They have had some massive stage productions over their 10 years, especially their Tokyo Dome performances where they drew 55,000 fans two nights in a row. I'd recommend Akatsuki - ruclips.net/video/g2372C5PJLM/видео.html or Rondo of Nightmare - ruclips.net/video/8WBDiLMNZcE/видео.html
⚡ 💀 💕 / ▲ BABYMETAL played two back-to-back shows at Yokohama Arena on the final dates of the 2015 BABYMETAL World Tour. The first night they debuted this song. This was filmed on the second night. This video has the audio from the domestic (Japanese) release of the Metal Resistance album. The international release of the album has an entirely English version. Moa admitted in one interview that it was really hard to stick to the choreography, and not wave to all the people below. : ) This song goes on quite a bit longer in the concert footage. The pyramid has to travel back and get lowered to the stage. Oddly enough, since even this version has so much English, this is the only Official Video with English captions. With only a couple of exceptions, this song is usually performed entirely in English now, even in Japan. Recently they have been starting off with the softer "Unfinished version" before going into the usual version with guitars, etc. BTW, 'Images and Words' by Dream Theater is one of BABYMETAL producer Koba's favorite albums. If you want full on prog metal, check out 'Tales of the Destinies', the song just before this one on the 'Metal Resistance' album.
One of the many cool things about BABTMETAL . Is they're the ones who have pioneered kawaii (cute) metal . And within that genre they incorporate just about every other genre of metal and even mixing in other genres of music from bollywood to rap and it's all ground breaking and awesome as hell. And if you want to see some over the top crowd interaction then check out Head Banger live Legend of 1997 , BABYMETAL Death Legend of 1997 live And Road of Resistance live in Japan . Give them a listen you won;t be disappointed .
The heads were those of Foxes as the Band Lore says that they are a "New Born Genre of Metal" (hence the name Babymetal) call Kawaii Metal brought forth by the 'Fox God'! Will be looking for your next Babymetal reaction and as always... Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!
Thank you for giving BABYMETAL a chance. Here is a little bit of info...In 2019, BABYMETAL became the first Asian artists to hit #1 on BILLBOARD's Top Rock Albums chart with their latest album, "Metal Galaxy". BABYMETAL have performed with, toured, or opened for Red Hot Chili Peppers (there is a youtube video of them performing Gimme Chocolate with RHCP, as well as with Korn, and DragonForce), Metallica, Korn, Dragonforce, Guns N' Roses, Lady Gaga, and Rob Halford of Judas Priest (there's a great youtube video of their performance with Rob at a metal award show), to name a few of many. BABYMETAL has been around for TEN years and have performed at large metal events/concerts in front of 65,000+ skeptical metalheads in Europe (Glastonbury, Download, Sonisphere, etc), US, and Asia. Plus the 20+ awards they have been given. They have 50+ songs and each one is different from the other, so I hope you give the other songs a try. By the way, they have some really great heavy songs too, and I hope you like guitar solos, as well as bass and drum solos, like I do, because they have them too.
One of the biggest inventions of BABYMETAL is, because of the unique voice of the singer, they can play any kinds of metal, from authentic power metal to deathrash, from prog metal to djent to nu metal, however the sound may be, SU-METAL's voice makes it nothing but BABYMETAL.
An unusual choice for a BABYMETAL first song - I would say it was not typical of them but then every song is different (and I really do mean that it is one of their defining characteristics). This is their anthem to their fans (who are called The One). They are renowned for their very theatrical shows. Their music is very clever (they have some amazing composers/writers) - their backing band (the kami band is made up of some of the VERY best Japanese session musicians who have worked with BABYMETAL for most of their 10 years). The lead singer Su-metal has referred to the decision to do this in English as a dedication to their international fans who have made concerted efforts to learn Japanese so they can join in in with their songs). This song is sung TO the fans as a thank you to them and it is generally listened to rather than joined in (there are some very specific fan rules around BABYMETAL sing along - no one EVER sings Su's parts , only Moa's / Yui's parts).
Just try to imagine what a feeling it must be for these young women to have a big crowd like this totally under control. I think their most known live videos are "Road of Resistance - Live in Japan (OFFICIAL)" or "Rondo Of Nightmare (with Mischiefs of God Intro Live)".
Nice reaction & analysis. Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。This was filmed in 2015. The girls have grown up into beautiful ladies now and their performance has matured, and yet very energetic as before. Their activities have been worldwide. For recent example, since June last year until March this year (before the pandemic), they performed 20 times in USA, 19 in EU/UK/Russia and 1 in Taiwan in addition to 15 in Japan (total : 49 their own concerts + 6 appearance in festivals). Please continue to explore BABYMETAL. You will find they are so versatile that they can perform any style of music.
If you do react to Tales of the Destinies by Babymetal, stay away from the video: BABYMETAL-Tales of the destinies compilation by sho-stone It doesn't have good audio.
I would recommend the band “Crystal Lake” a Japanese band, they recently released a remaster album “The Voyage” with songs from 2010 just for a head ups, but their album Helix is there most recent album.
Yes, this is a studio recording on top of a live video. Their live versions have "Live" in the title. The One was the closer of that concert, and the last song on their 2nd album Metal Resistance. The song is for the fans, who are also called The One, which can explain the way they executed this performance and song - having the girls floating above the audience and the long and very melodic outro. I really enjoyed this reaction and would love to see more Babymetal reactions. One thing I can guarantee is that there'll always be something to say, and you won't get bored even if you don't enjoy a song. I'll recommend 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' live at Sonisphere UK 2014. The lyrics have more depth, and you'll get to see Babymetal in their more usual stage formation with choreo and all that. ruclips.net/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/видео.html
Yes, this song official is Live performance from Final Chapter of Trilogy at Yokohama Arena . BABYMETAL has many song official from live performance like this song "The One" , Road Of Resistance , Gimme Chocolate , No Rain No Rainbow , PaPaYa , Da Da Dance , Elevator Girls , And Ijime,Dame,Zettai . That's all good song . Btw, before this song "The one" you should reacting to "Tales of Destenies" first . And this song "The One" has English version . Nice reaction and Wellcome to world of BABYMETAL 🤘🦊
Babymetal is the real deal; their music is complex and varied, they experiment a lot and do different genres. Try Megitsune to get an an idea of what they can do. This song is a thank you letter to the fans, whom the girls nicknamed "the One". Their song Tales of the Destinies and The One were at one point one song, and they broke it into two. If you want to hear Dream Theater influence, give a listen to Tales of the Destines.
BABYMETAL - Rondo Of Nightmare/Mischief of Metal Gods Intro - Budokan 2014 ruclips.net/video/8WBDiLMNZcE/видео.html BABYMETAL - Road of Resistance - Live in Japan (OFFICIAL) ruclips.net/video/zTEYUFgLveY/видео.html
Check out BabyMetal live, Catch Me If You Can, live at Black Night Legend Doomsday show 3 guitar solos, drum solo, Super Cute, Super Metal, Monster Guitar Riffs, Best live performance, Headbanging with a Smile!!
The lyrics in this are simple because it is an ode the fandom called "The One". You need to get 3 or 4 songs in to really get the feel for them. Do you like Dragonforce? if so for crowd interaction you must check out the official live of Road of Resistance
Read somewhere that Yui or Moa couldn't look down to their fans because that were afraid they spilled their tears on the fans. I'm gladly taken that tear if I was there!
Here is the link to the Tokyo Dome performance of Tales of the Destinies/ The One. You will have to "link and synch" or it WILL get blocked as it is from the blue ray. . .or just watch it on your own to get a real feel for what they do. This was the only time "Tales" has ever been performed live. vk.com/video408956197_456239019 Babymetal is musical theater. They are backed by the best studio musicians Japan has to offer (The Kami-Band). The girls were Idols and a clever producer sent them on a metal journey to discover all the different genres. Their songs are packed with homages to the progenitors or quintessential bands of those genres. For example, one of the leads (they have two that duel and harmony, and three regular players swap out all the parts) was Mikio Fujioka. He has mimicked Petrucci tone and style because that is the genre Tales and The One are written in. It is Babymetal's foray into progressive metal, with the second part as a thank you (love note) to their fans. The guys in the Kamiband can mimic ANY style they choose. In Mikio's solo work, well . .it's actually pretty much 80's type jazz fusion and he had a project (Kari-band) with bassist BOH. His most notable influence is Alan Holdsworth (listen to the very end guitar lick of the One in the live link above). You will hear him throw Alan in there! . . lol Unfortunately he passed away after an accident in 2017. The song Starlight is a tribute to him (Kogami) "little god". Their production budget seems to be unlimited (at this point) . . lol . .as you will see and their stage shows are UNMATCHED in the industry. The link is to the close of one of two nights they played at Tokyo dome wrapping up their Metal Resistance album World Tour. The venue seats 55,000 people. It was sold out two consecutive nights . . .Welcome to the Foxhole. . . . I enjoyed your reaction and look forward to more (liked and subscribed). Thank you. 🤘🏻🦊🤘🏻
Thank you for your honest reaction 👏 Just like the other said, here's Tales of The Destinies (audio only, can't find any good full live on youtube) : ruclips.net/video/kp7MHMYXbSs/видео.html After that, how about some power metal by Babymetal? The song is a collaboration with Herman Li & Sam Totman of DragonForce. The song is 'Road of Resistance live in Japan official'
Nice pickup on the Petrucci guitar tone. I think it was meant that way, because the song preceding The One on the album is "Tales of the Destinies", which is definitely a hommage to Dream Theater's Dance of Eternity. The outro of Tales of the Destinies leads into the intro of The One. There's no video of TOTD on RUclips, because it was only played live once, at their Tokyo Dome shows, and nothing from these two shows exists on RUclips, except for mostly bad compilations in which the video switches from location to location every few seconds. Grington300 has a link in his comment for the live performance, you should definitely check that out. You were right, this was a studio track over a recorded live performance. The song itself is an anthem made for their fans, called The One, that's one point why the lyrics are more simplistic, it's something like "we should all stand together and try to overcome difficulties that way". Babymetal songs are generally made to be played live, especially something like The One. Su-metal's, aka Suzuka Nakamoto's, voice sounds a lot better live, because it isn't as overproduced as the studio recordings are (especially in the first two albums), but she delivers them the same way as on the album. As you also picked up, the "lalala" part is meant to be echoed by the crowd when they play it live. There's a section written for crowd interaction in almost every song, that's one of the main "jobs" of the two backup vocalists and dancers, Moa Kikuchi and Yui Mizuno (who's no longer with Babymetal). Their choreos are meant to convey what the song is all about and they are often the ones doing the call and response parts with the crowd. Every song is also very different from the last because they use almost every metal genre and mix it with others or even other music genres in general.
This song is a "Thank you" letter to their fans, who are primarily western English speakers. "The One" is the name of the collective fan-base. Listen to "BABYMETAL - ROAD OF RESISTANCE, Live in Japan" for a true live performance with massive audience participation. I'll sub to follow along as BABYMETAL decimates your modest expectations over and over. Kitsune Dao!
Here are the two songs (that once were one ) back to back if you would like to watch them, they definitely aren't youtube friendly but worth seeing vk.com/video408956197_456239019
That song can't have as much of an impact on you as it should have because it's actually a "Thank You" letter to the fans - and especially the international ones - which is why they're singing parts in English. The lyrics may be simple on this song but they're very impactful. They're basically telling their fans that we're all part of The One and that BABYMETAL would be nothing without their fans. It's a message of unity and togetherness. I love that song :). Quite a few people have recommended the vk link for this. It includes Tales of The Destinies followed by The One - all live at Tokyo Dome in front of 55,000 people all chanting the "lalalala" part together with the girls. We have had reactors moved to tears watching this. And I'm talking reactors who were skeptical of BABYMETAL at first. I would hugely recommend you do this. As a musician like yourself, it is a MUST DO. I know it's 20 minutes long, but those won't be a waste of your time. I promise. Also Tales of The Destinies is a clear nod to Dreamtheater and a full-on prog-metal song that was dubbed as "great" by Mike Portnoy himself in a tweet where he thanked his son for sending him the song (his son is a huge BABYMETAL fan) ;). Here's the link : vk.com/video408956197_456239019
if you try to put Babymetal in standard metal " box " then me will say good luck. they have 40+ songs and not one of them sound the same , the basic formula of Babymetal songs is J-Pop and Metal plus (put any 2 or 3 other genre here) and expect the unexpected.
The simplicity and the " laaallaaallaaa"... is for audience interaction... Road of Resistance has this ..... but there is one guy that dominates a second of the live tract... so know you know why they keep it a simple as possible... cant carry a note in a handbasket...
You really should have done Tales of the Destinies instead of The One. I think that is what you are really looking for. The One is a pretty simple song while Tales is the exact opposite. It's about as complex as a song can be and still be a song and not noise. The One is a pretty cool video though, it's very emotional. If you think that is a big audience Tales of the Destinies was only performed live once, at the Tokyo Dome. It's such a complex song, but they nailed it.
This wasn't supposed to be the first to react to... It will grow on you if you've heard babymetal a few times already then come back at song . It's like their thank you for all of their fans. But still nonetheless it was really a great reaction video sir. I'm very happy that you get to react to babymetal fnally. Thank you.. hoping for more future babymetal.

Saying that Babymetal is part of entire subgenre called Kawaii metal is entirely accurate. But that is not the way i would put it. They invented the genre and named it. That they are considered to be part of any genre or subgenre at all is only proof of humans' desire to name and catagorize things even when it doesn't make any sense.
Here is the link : docs.google.com/document/d/1DqPsavocgGvCyZfUHvrkgJ5KZMaMkmMgjy2UxNNG96E/edit#
You should note though, that your video will almost definitely be blocked if these are included in your video and that you will need to do what we call "link & sync". It's very easy and made easier with the help of Reactor Hub, a tool made for helping avoid blocks etc. We made a short tutorial on how to use it : drive.google.com/open?id=1X6hN2BdyKzFmVN9XMEo2M89hsKY0B-bnnHRVVMNY13w
Using that you are safe from blocked videos and even future copyright strikes, since no copyright material is included in your video :).
But they kept the transitional part between the two parts on the actual album.
this is absolutely beautiful and wonderful song thanks for this reaction please more Babymetal 🥺🥺❤️🥺💞❤️❤️❤️💓💞🌺🌸
As usual, here's the tweet in question: twitter.com/mikeportnoy/status/814239777998458880?lang=en
:D
This is the studio version over live footage. Interestingly, this song used to be the latter half of the song Tales Of The Destinies from the Metal Resistance album and they still segway into one another on the album. It was split into two songs as the original 12 minute length was considered too much for listeners. Tales of The Destines is BABYMETAL’s tribute to Dream Theater and is one hell of a ride! This explains your observation about guitar style perfectly!
No this is Yokohama 2015 performance polished.
Here’s a little guide and maybe tips for you:
Please have more reactions to them, you’ll like it
Trap Metal: BxMxC
Ska Metal: JAVA!
Viking Metal: Meta Taro
Carnatic: Shanti Shanti Shanti
Normally I don't worry too much about labels like these, but it's so obvious that Babymetal is intentionally trying to exemplify specific genres with some of their songs.
If you want a little bit of classic metal, react to Rondo of Nightmare live at budokan by babymetal
The song is a song for the fans as the one is what the fans are called.
BABYMETAL
10 years and still Legends
🤘🤘🤘
All hail The Fox God
This is just a simple finale song thanking the fans (The One).
The problem is there is no good performance video of Tales out there
@@LouieGrandie There isn't a good performance video on RUclips but good ones do exist on other sites. But for "Tales of the Destinies" I actually recommend the audio version so that he can hear every detail of that very technical song.
@@LouieGrandie Here is a good video for Tales, but RUclips will probably block his video if he reacts to it without editing it. vk.com/video408956197_456239019
@@emb5091 Yes over there where "In The Name Of" lives
@@emb5091 I meant on RUclips which is sad
Since you mention "dream theater" you should definitely try Babymetal's
"Tales of the Destinies" ;-) you'll be pleasantly surprised!
(The problem is that there is no official video of it on RUclips)
They did it live once during their Tokyo Dome Concert
(something that was considered impossible!)
(There is an Audio version that usually avoids a Copyright claim)
I don't know, how much you actually know about them, but let me give you a short introduction:
Some facts about them: BABYMETAL is around since 2010 when the three girls were 11 and 12 years old.
They already have seven albums out:
"BABYMETAL", rel. 2014 (studio album)
"Live at Budokan - Red Night Apocalypse", rel. 2014 (live album)
"Metal Resistance", rel. 2016 (studio album)
"Live at Wembley", rel. 2016 (live album)
"Metal Galaxy", rel. 2019 (studio album)
"Legend Metal Galaxy - Day 1", rel. 2020 (live album)
"Legend Metal Galaxy - Day 2", rel. 2020 (live album)
BABYMETAL also has several live recorded shows out on DVD/Blu-Ray which is a good thing because, believe it or not, they are one of the best live bands out there (which earned them many best-live-act-awards).
My recommendations for the start are:
*"Ijime, Dame, Zettai"* live at Sonisphere Festival 2014 in the UK ruclips.net/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/видео.html
*"Karate"* live at Download Festival 2016 in the UK ruclips.net/video/qXF94RGYEmw/видео.html

Nice Reaction
It does indeed seem a bit long-winded but you have to see it in the context
that this is the finale of the show, and then it seems pretty acceptable to me.
It was also the first time this song was ever performed, so they went way out of their way to make it as lush and grand as possible for it's debut.

BABYMETAL played two back-to-back shows at Yokohama Arena on the final dates of the 2015 BABYMETAL World Tour.
This song goes on quite a bit longer in the concert footage.
I remember that this song just hits you during a live concert. Its been a year since I saw them and I still remember this performance very clearly.
Thank you for listening to Babymetal
Thank you for listening to Japanese music
Great reaction
I enjoyed it very much🤘☺️
React to the best progressive metal "Tales of the destinies", by Babymetal of course, greetings
Tales of destinies es your track man this is dream theater in version baby metal
welcome to the world of babymetal.
If you do react to Tales of the Destinies by Babymetal, stay away from the video: BABYMETAL-Tales of the destinies compilation by sho-stone
It doesn't have good audio.
First half of this song

The lyrics in this are simple because it is an ode the fandom called "The One". You need to get 3 or 4 songs in to really get the feel for them. Do you like Dragonforce? if so for crowd interaction you must check out the official live of Road of Resistance
Please Reacts new video Babymetal - BxMxC Official 🙏🙏
There is a song that is similar to dream theater style. It is Tales of Destiny by BabyMetal. On the album that song is the previous song of "the one"
This was the only time "Tales" has ever been performed live.
vk.com/video408956197_456239019
Babymetal is musical theater. You will hear him throw Alan in there! . . lol
Unfortunately he passed away after an accident in 2017.
Thank you. 🤘🏻🦊🤘🏻
It's anthem for us(the one = babymetal fan).
Tales of destinies is a great song for a reaction
I love your reaction of babymetal.
We are babymetal.
Thank you for your honest reaction 👏
Just like the other said, here's Tales of The Destinies (audio only, can't find any good full live on youtube) : ruclips.net/video/kp7MHMYXbSs/видео.html
After that, how about some power metal by Babymetal?
Reaccion a rondo of nightmare .sis anger .akatsuki. yava. Sincopation
Here are the two songs (that once were one ) back to back if you would like to watch them, they definitely aren't youtube friendly but worth seeing vk.com/video408956197_456239019
Hi. Babymetal is more of a musical experiment than a ready-made heavy metal band.
Here's the link :

if you try to put Babymetal in standard metal " box " then me will say good luck.
they have 40+ songs and not one of them sound the same , the basic formula of Babymetal songs is J-Pop and Metal plus (put any 2 or 3 other genre here) and expect the unexpected.
LOL best summary of BM yet - Expect the unexpected! Most fans general love waiting for the WTAF moment on a reactors face ..
You are absolutely right. I try to explain to my friends what BM is but I can't find a crispy and punchy statement. You nailed it bro!!
It was a live performance. The crowd was silent during that song.
If you want more fan interactions def Road of Resistance live in japan official video.
Yo!! PLEASE check oit Tales of the Destinies! Its their most prog song they do!! Spectacular!!
The simplicity and the " laaallaaallaaa"... is for audience interaction... Road of Resistance has this ..... but there is one guy that dominates a second of the live tract... so know you know why they keep it a simple as possible... cant carry a note in a handbasket...

Please Babymetal No Rain No Rainbow and Road of Resistance
I didn't look at the comments yet but I can bet half of them tell you to listen to Tales of The Destinies XD

Akatsuki or rondo of nightmare
This wasn't supposed to be the first to react to... It will grow on you if you've heard babymetal a few times already then come back at song . It's like their thank you for all of their fans. But still nonetheless it was really a great reaction video sir. I'm very happy that you get to react to babymetal fnally. Thank you.. hoping for more future babymetal.
