Just such an amazingly talented group of musicians, 'crowned' by the beautiful voices and insanely complex dance moves of Su-Metal and Moametal. Take all the time to revel in the emotions that you need. It's a big part of why we are The One. "Proud" is a word that has come to mind for me since their SG days. I grew up watching the Beatles on Ed Sullivan in my youth and they are still my all-time favourite but never has a band struck such an emotional chord within me as Babymetal has. Thanks.
Yui and Moa vocals choke me up every time. For some reason the sound of those perfect young voices with the bands beautiful playing , smacks me right in the feels. Great reaction!! BABYMETAL has this unique ability to blow people away, it comes out of leftfield because they are supposed to be just this silly little band that sings about chocolates. It's because of these performances that so many of us have fallen so deep into the foxhole, amazed by their talent and the way they tell their stories.

Great reaction as always! You are certainly not the only one who feels like a proud grandpa watching these girls. They are so very easy to love. Well, they do come from the Idol background so will naturally have that ability to charm the hell out of a person but when you combine that with the talent they have plus the support from the band and its no wonder a person in reduced to a blubbering mess sometimes. :D I assume you have not even seen any of their Sakura Gakuin videos or their early interviews? If you see those videos you get an even better introduction to who they are. It will become even more clear why there is so much fan dedication.
Good music will manipulate your emotions - there is nothing to apologise for if a song makes you emotional, that just means it was a great song that did as it was intended to. Also I think you can certainly consider yourself a member of The One by now. The compilation used a mix of some live and some studio audio (the half and half Japanese-English version used the audio from the official video which is studio audio - and that video had the fade out at the end as well). Generally the sing-along at the end may be longer or not so long depending on the occasion - so Tokyo Dome and Legend S were very much extended versions - and the song reaches a definite conclusion, it doesn't just fade out. It started with the Legend S (Su's 20th birthday shows in Hiroshima) live audio with the piano and Su walking along the causeway with the dry ice then the beginning of the 'unfinished' (acoustic) version she sang there. The lights were coordinated - everybody in the crowd was wearing a mask with an LED light on it. There was also some video from Tokyo Dome where everybody was wearing a neckbrace with an LED light. At Wembley the fans had pre-arranged to take as many of their own national flags with them as possible and they were all held up and displayed from the start of the sing-along for the girls and the band to see just how many different nationalities were gathered there and belonging to The One. I've been listening to them since December 2015, I can count the days I didn't listen to them on one hand( it was during a business trip). It's strange, but it never gets old.The little girls did grow up into young women though. :-)

I think you wouldn't see a crowd that quiet in the West. The Japanese have somewhat of a different attitude towards live performances (from what I have heard). You may have noticed that in BABYMETAL's music there are often dedicated parts for the crowd to sing along. That's quite common in Japanese Pop music in general (it's called "ainote"), and that's because for them it's considered inappropriate or even rude to disturb the main vocals with their own unwashed voices. In addition to that, in my opinion it's common courtesy to STFU during such an amazing scene. It always alienates me at concerts when people start to crowdsurf or mosh in those moments. There's a time for that, but there's also a time for silence. To get the full experience of that light effects in the crowd, please watch "Tales of the Destinies" and "The One" from the Tokyo Dome performance, if you get the chance. I have seen that countless times, and it still leaves me in awe every time. One of the most epic moments I have ever seen. I can't even imagine how great it must feel for the girls to see that, knowing that every single light is a die-hard fan. And it fits the message of this song perfectly. The way you are reacting to this is proof that you definitely deserve to consider yourself part of The One. I have never said this before, but for a compilation video this was not that bad. Personally, I wouldn't mind watching you react to both versions. But it might also double the chance to get blocked, of course.
⚡ 💀 💕 /🔺 The official music video for 'THE ONE' has the mixed (part Japanese/part English) version. There is no fully Japanese version of the song. Usually this song is entirely in English, even when it's performed in Japan. Recently they have been starting off with the softer "Unfinished version" before going into the version with drums and guitars. Those two nights at Yokohama Arena in December 2015 shown in the official video were the final dates of the 2015 BABYMETAL World Tour. From what they said after that performance, the hardest part wasn't the height, it was to stick to the choreography instead of waving to the people in the crowd below. : )

The official MV from their official page are usually safe with only a few exceptions: "Megitsune", "Gimme Chocolate", "Karate", "Road of Resistance" live in Japan, "No Rain No Rainbow" live at Legend S. These ones are not safe! All the other ones I never saw them getting blocked! These specific compilation probably was blocked because of that beautiful long-ass introduction from the Legend S show! The song was in English, because they were touched when they were touring around the world, and noticed people started learning japanese to sing along with them! So they wanted to thank them with an english song! There are a few more English songs: "Elevator Girl" that has both half japanese/half english and full english versions, and then "From Dusk till Dawn". If you want to see another epic performance, you should check the intro song for that very Legend S show, "In the Name Of"! What's more, whenever the girls need total silence, we close our mouths and stop heartbeats 😄 . Then, once Su or Moa commands to make a noise, our circuit breaker in the brain fail. Does team BABYMETAL force us to do so? No. On the contrary, we believe we are entitled to be a part of their performance. That's all. (Don't say "you are tamed !" 😄😄 ） Some people said this song was a little bit too repetitive. But in their live performance you feel as if the length of this song were only 30 seconds and want to listen to it forever. I witnessed it total 10 times at Makuhari (last year) and Budokan (this year). Whenever they performed this song, I saw divine beauty and heard angelic voices.
Hello again and greetings from Germany! 🇩🇪❤️🇯🇵 That is something I have noticed in their shows as well, the call & respond with the audience. But it just seems a little more than that, because they know when to cheer and make noise and when to be silent and let the artists draw them in. I think of it as the artist "unleashing" the power of the audience and vice versa. Isn't there something similar in Karaoke as well? I think there was a word for it, but I can't remember it right now. Like the one singing being cheered on by his or her friends in certain parts. That is a really nice idea and I always made that connection for some reason. Also it is a really nice touch from BABYMETAL to make a song about their fans and them and the repetitiveness( I don't mind it), is there to bring the point across, that we all together as fans, artists and the people working behind the scenes are The One. And that thought brings happiness and connection to everyone. So I think it is also ok to shed some tears if the song is in your heart. Talking about Karaoke, you may be referring to (1) "a i no te 合いの手", a short interjection of voice uttered by other people (mostly co-performer on stage) into the song that a lead singer is singing or (2) "ka ke a i 掛け合い", literally translated as call and response. I accidentally discovered BABYMETAL on July 7, 2019. I had been a fan of old Jazz / Funk and bands with young girls did not exist in my music life until the day of destiny. I cannot explain why I fell in love with the girls and Kamis but I am enjoying it, especially in current happy retirement life that started October, last year.

Absolutely loved your reaction! The last concert I attended before COVID hit was Babymetal’s Metal Galaxy shows at Super Saitama Arena in Nov ‘19 and it was wonderful seeing a raw reaction. Their track ‘Shine’ also has me tear up in a similar way.
You had the same reaction I did when I first watched them perform this. That's a great reaction, and you ARE part of The One. A few things to note: 18:39, Su-metal sees the ocean of lights for the first time. Su-chan broke character and has the look of awe on her face. Each light is a necklace each audience member has, that's why it looks so uniform around the 55k people at the Tokyo Dome. At that moment, they dimmed the house lights so only the necklace lights were lit. That view of Su-metal from behind with the ocean of lights gives me chills. 19:02, Moametal has teared up. At the Tokyo Dome, they had cameras on wires to create the dramatic sweeping visuals of the huge arena. And so they can show the vast crowd singing along.
One thing I found amazing was that there did not appear to be a single missing light. Maybe there was some post-production tweaking or maybe, just maybe, the crowd was invested enough in the show to properly become part of the show and really become The One with the show.

15:55 "it's almost like they are all feeling it". From having been at Babymetal live shows, yes, everyone on stage and all the fans. Babymetal team are masters in mood setting music and production, and amazing live musicians, etc. and especially Su-metal's power to convey emotion. It's palatable. My guess is Babymetal would be delighted to hear their epicness rivals Nightwish. Su-metal, I think, is also a Sabaton fan.

The One has an full English version lyrcs and a Japanese lyrcs version since they are so glad that fans who don't always know what they are saying listens to them. I think only Elevator and The One are the only ones to have full English. Pretty amazing that they dedicated these songs using to different languages.
Although to be clear, the "Japanese lyrics" version of 'THE ONE is half in English, not all Japanese. 'From Dusk Till Dawn' is probably also entirely in English. : ) As are 'BABYMETAL Death', 'FUTURE METAL' and 'IN THE NAME OF'.

Don't worry, the Legend S footage, with the "unfinished" first part breaks me because of a number of reasons... to the extent I watched it once (the whole concert on BD) and I never watched it again. So it's been so hard watching the "intro", the unfinished version of this compilation. And you are right, it hits hard, at the same level of "Akatsuki" unfinished and "No rain no rainbow". Nobody is perfect but they always search the perfection, or at least to give their 100% on every performance. Actually, this is the natural way to perform for Su. They may also end up frustrated even if the audience don't respond as they expected just because they firmly believe it's their job to get them hyped. They are awesome! Until next time!

If this song doesn't make you emotional, you probably aren't doing it right. THE ONE is my favorite Babymetal song. I'm not young and I have been to a lot of concerts, and Babymetal completely owns me like no other. The power and badassitude of metal combined with the charm and energy of Sakura Gakuin. It is a powerful combination. Lots of people like to bag on Kobametal but I'm not one of them. It's pure inspired genius. The end of Black Night Legend Doomsday almost always does it to me, too.
No twin ponytails? *-) By the way. It is okey to be emotional. Remember seeing the concert from Wimbledon on DVD my tears was flooding my face at the end.
On the blocks, Amuse is going to block everything except if it comes from the Legend 1997 concert or the Budokan Black Night / Red Night concerts, that were played in 2014 and only contain songs from the first album. It was a great reaction, but the thing of being a compilation is a bit disheartening. In my opinion it is a big waste to react to compilations, the feeling and the atmosphere of the real show gets lost. And specially for The One that has had some big theatrical and very beautiful performances. Like that one at the start of this comp, when Su was walking over the cloud. Though in the compilation the audio is edited by the author. In the Babymetal Reaction community a guy has put already a logo on the performance videos and created a spreadsheet to help reactors; I don't know how I can send you the link to the spreadsheet though, if I post it here RUclips removes the message. The One was born from a riff in the song Tales of the Destinies, as the writing process was going on it became it's own song. Both songs are usually tied together, and as Tales of the Destinies has only been played once (very hard to play, a tribute to Dream Theater) it was played together with The One.
Could not agree more. Whoever is giving him advice to watch compilations does not have his best interest at heart. Rare is the BabyMetal compilation that isn’t rather cringey, and I feel bad for the reactor, because they aren’t getting the full flavor of the song. It’s like comparing artificial flowers to real flowers.

I've since seen one of the videos for this song on the BabyMetal resource page and have now decided that I will react to videos from there and watermark them and hope they don't get blocked. I've had a watermarked video get blocked before.
@@JustAnotherReactor I think you took that decision with the best intent and also it was good enough for you to enjoy the song and bring us a good reaction video. So I'm grateful. Still, I think if it is not a compilation it is better. As you can see the compilations also get claimed some times; the way the RUclips algorithm works it's weird. I can say that the man (PapaXan, you'll see him around) who maintains that spreadsheet makes a lot of work. He not only checks at what minimal loss of quality the algorithm stops blocking the videos, he sometimes goes back to old videos to check if the algorithm has updated and now is detecting them. Still, it's a constant struggle and you never can be 100% sure if they are going to catch it. Still, my advice is that if the song is from the first album, play safe and try to find a link from the Budokan concert that sure is around here in RUclips.

It is unbelievable how they can hit you with their performances and believe me, there are so many songs where my eyes get watered. Unfortunately, compilation videos don’t have the same effect for me. Take all the time to revel in the emotions that you need. It's a big part of why we are The One. "Proud" is a word that has come to mind for me since their SG days. Great reaction!! BABYMETAL has this unique ability to blow people away, it comes out of leftfield because they are supposed to be just this silly little band that sings about chocolates. It's because of these performances that so many of us have fallen so deep into the foxhole, amazed by their talent and the way they tell their stories.

Great reaction as always! You are certainly not the only one who feels like a proud grandpa watching these girls. They are so very easy to love. Well, they do come from the Idol background so will naturally have that ability to charm the hell out of a person but when you combine that with the talent they have plus the support from the band and its no wonder a person in reduced to a blubbering mess sometimes. :D I assume you have not even seen any of their Sakura Gakuin videos or their early interviews? If you see those videos you get an even better introduction to who they are. It will become even more clear why there is so much fan dedication.
Good music will manipulate your emotions - there is nothing to apologise for if a song makes you emotional, that just means it was a great song that did as it was intended to. Also I think you can certainly consider yourself a member of The One by now.
The compilation used a mix of some live and some studio audio (the half and half Japanese-English version used the audio from the official video which is studio audio - and that video had the fade out at the end as well). Generally the sing-along at the end may be longer or not so long depending on the occasion - so Tokyo Dome and Legend S were very much extended versions - and the song reaches a definite conclusion, it doesn't just fade out.
It started with the Legend S (Su's 20th birthday shows in Hiroshima) live audio with the piano and Su walking along the causeway with the dry ice then the beginning of the 'unfinished' (acoustic) version she sang there.
The lights were coordinated - everybody in the crowd was wearing a mask with an LED light on it. There was also some video from Tokyo Dome where everybody was wearing a neckbrace with an LED light.
At Wembley the fans had pre-arranged to take as many of their own national flags with them as possible and they were all held up and displayed from the start of the sing-along for the girls and the band to see just how many different nationalities were gathered there and belonging to The One.

Koba also writes in page 22, due to such time limitation, there was no segregation between tour in Japan and tour abroad. "One bundle as world tour". "As long as we perform, we had to concentrate on one-shot game and one breakthrough. All equal to any place regardless of in NY, LA, London, Tokyo, Osaka ...etc". You would call it a ballad. The first part of this comp is from ( Babymetal Baptism XX ) in celebration of Queen Su's 20th birthday.
Protective pride. I think most of us can relate to this feeling. No matter our age we would be proud to call any of these young ladies our children or grandchildren.
I have listened to them every day since March of this year. They make me smile every time. I don't see that stopping any time soon.

I think you wouldn't see a crowd that quiet in the West. The Japanese have somewhat of a different attitude towards live performances (from what I have heard). You may have noticed that in BABYMETAL's music there are often dedicated parts for the crowd to sing along. That's quite common in Japanese Pop music in general (it's called "ainote"), and that's because for them it's considered inappropriate or even rude to disturb the main vocals with their own unwashed voices. In addition to that, in my opinion it's common courtesy to STFU during such an amazing scene. It always alienates me at concerts when people start to crowdsurf or mosh in those moments. There's a time for that, but there's also a time for silence.
To get the full experience of that light effects in the crowd, please watch "Tales of the Destinies" and "The One" from the Tokyo Dome performance, if you get the chance. I have seen that countless times, and it still leaves me in awe every time. One of the most epic moments I have ever seen. I can't even imagine how great it must feel for the girls to see that, knowing that every single light is a die-hard fan. And it fits the message of this song perfectly.
The way you are reacting to this is proof that you definitely deserve to consider yourself part of The One.
I have never said this before, but for a compilation video this was not that bad. Personally, I wouldn't mind watching you react to both versions. But it might also double the chance to get blocked, of course.

There is no fully Japanese version of the song.
Usually this song is entirely in English, even when it's performed in Japan.
Recently they have been starting off with the softer "Unfinished version" before going into the version with drums and guitars.
Those two nights at Yokohama Arena in December 2015 shown in the official video were the final dates of the 2015 BABYMETAL World Tour.
From what they said after that performance, the hardest part wasn't the height, it was to stick to the choreography instead of waving to the people in the crowd below. : )

The official MV from their official page are usually safe with only a few exceptions: "Megitsune", "Gimme Chocolate", "Karate", "Road of Resistance" live in Japan, "No Rain No Rainbow" live at Legend S. These ones are not safe! All the other ones I never saw them getting blocked!
These specific compilation probably was blocked because of that beautiful long-ass introduction from the Legend S show!
The song was in English, because they were touched when they were touring around the world, and noticed people started learning japanese to sing along with them! So they wanted to thank them with an english song!
There are a few more English songs: "Elevator Girl" that has both half japanese/half english and full english versions, and then "From Dusk till Dawn".
If you want to see another epic performance, you should check the intro song for that very Legend S show, "In the Name Of"! But that legendary performance can only be seen with the logo on top, but it's really worthwhile in my opinion!

Great & thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 In Japan arena show, every audience works as a piece of stage set, a scenic effect, some backdrop or even a midget lamp. What's more, whenever the girls need total silence, we close our mouths and stop heartbeats 😄 . Then, once Su or Moa commands to make a noise, our circuit breaker in the brain fail. Does team BABYMETAL force us to do so? No. On the contrary, we believe we are entitled to be a part of their performance. That's all. (Don't say "you are tamed !" 😄😄 ）
Some people said this song was a little bit too repetitive. But in their live performance you feel as if the length of this song were only 30 seconds and want to listen to it forever. I witnessed it total 10 times at Makuhari (last year) and Budokan (this year). Whenever they performed this song, I saw divine beauty and heard angelic voices.

That is something I have noticed in their shows as well, the call & respond with the audience. But it just seems a little more than that, because they know when to cheer and make noise and when to be silent and let the artists draw them in. I think of it as the artist "unleashing" the power of the audience and vice versa.
Isn't there something similar in Karaoke as well? I think there was a word for it, but I can't remember it right now. Like the one singing being cheered on by his or her friends in certain parts. That is a really nice idea and I always made that connection for some reason.
Also it is a really nice touch from BABYMETAL to make a song about their fans and them and the repetitiveness( I don't mind it), is there to bring the point across, that we all together as fans, artists and the people working behind the scenes are The One. And that thought brings happiness and connection to everyone.
So I think it is also ok to shed some tears if the song is in your heart.

I accidentally discovered BABYMETAL on July 7, 2019. I had been a fan of old Jazz / Funk and bands with young girls did not exist in my music life until the day of destiny. I cannot explain why I fell in love with the girls and Kamis but I am enjoying it, especially in current happy retirement life that started October, last year.

Absolutely loved your reaction! The last concert I attended before COVID hit was Babymetal’s Metal Galaxy shows at Super Saitama Arena in Nov ‘19 and it was wonderful seeing a raw reaction. Their track ‘Shine’ also has me tear up in a similar way.
You had the same reaction I did when I first watched them perform this. That's a great reaction, and you ARE part of The One. A few things to note: 18:39, Su-metal sees the ocean of lights for the first time. Su-chan broke character and has the look of awe on her face. Each light is a necklace each audience member has, that's why it looks so uniform around the 55k people at the Tokyo Dome. At that moment, they dimmed the house lights so only the necklace lights were lit. That view of Su-metal from behind with the ocean of lights gives me chills. 19:02, Moametal has teared up.
At the Tokyo Dome, they had cameras on wires to create the dramatic sweeping visuals of the huge arena. And so they can show the vast crowd singing along.
One thing I found amazing was that there did not appear to be a single missing light. Maybe there was some post-production tweaking or maybe, just maybe, the crowd was invested enough in the show to properly become part of the show and really become The One with the show.
@@grumpus5248 I saw some breaks in the lights. It's really neat how the lights are all master controlled. In other parts of the show, whole sections of the audience dimmed separately from other sections. Pretty cool.

The One has an full English version lyrcs and a Japanese lyrcs version since they are so glad that fans who don't always know what they are saying listens to them. I think only Elevator and The One are the only ones to have full English. Pretty amazing that they dedicated these songs using to different languages.
Although to be clear, the "Japanese lyrics" version of 'THE ONE is half in English, not all Japanese.

Don't worry, the Legend S footage, with the "unfinished" first part breaks me because of a number of reasons... to the extent I watched it once (the whole concert on BD) and I never watched it again. So it's been so hard watching the "intro", the unfinished version of this compilation. And you are right, it hits hard, at the same level of "Akatsuki" unfinished and "No rain no rainbow".
Nobody is perfect but they always search the perfection, or at least to give their 100% on every performance. Actually, this is the natural way to perform for Su. They may also end up frustrated even if the audience don't respond as they expected just because they firmly believe it's their job to get them hyped. They are awesome!

THE ONE is my favorite Babymetal song. I'm not young and I have been to a lot of concerts, and Babymetal completely owns me like no other. The power and badassitude of metal combined with the charm and energy of Sakura Gakuin. It is a powerful combination. Lots of people like to bag on Kobametal but I'm not one of them. It's pure inspired genius.

On the blocks, Amuse is going to block everything except if it comes from the Legend 1997 concert or the Budokan Black Night / Red Night concerts, that were played in 2014 and only contain songs from the first album.
It was a great reaction, but the thing of being a compilation is a bit disheartening. In my opinion it is a big waste to react to compilations, the feeling and the atmosphere of the real show gets lost. And specially for The One that has had some big theatrical and very beautiful performances. Like that one at the start of this comp, when Su was walking over the cloud. Though in the compilation the audio is edited by the author. In the Babymetal Reaction community a guy has put already a logo on the performance videos and created a spreadsheet to help reactors; I don't know how I can send you the link to the spreadsheet though, if I post it here RUclips removes the message.
The One was born from a riff in the song Tales of the Destinies, as the writing process was going on it became it's own song. Both songs are usually tied together, and as Tales of the Destinies has only been played once (very hard to play, a tribute to Dream Theater) it was played together with The One.
Could not agree more. Whoever is giving him advice to watch compilations does not have his best interest at heart. Rare is the BabyMetal compilation that isn’t rather cringey, and I feel bad for the reactor, because they aren’t getting the full flavor of the song. It’s like comparing artificial flowers to real flowers.
@@The_Great_Darino Nobody advised me. I made the decision on my own based on different opinions in the comments. I've since seen one of the videos for this song on the BabyMetal resource page and have now decided that I will react to videos from there and watermark them and hope they don't get blocked. I've had a watermarked video get blocked before.
@@JustAnotherReactor I think you took that decision with the best intent and also it was good enough for you to enjoy the song and bring us a good reaction video. So I'm grateful. Still, I think if it is not a compilation it is better.
As you can see the compilations also get claimed some times; the way the RUclips algorithm works it's weird. I can say that the man (PapaXan, you'll see him around) who maintains that spreadsheet makes a lot of work. He not only checks at what minimal loss of quality the algorithm stops blocking the videos, he sometimes goes back to old videos to check if the algorithm has updated and now is detecting them. Still, it's a constant struggle and you never can be 100% sure if they are going to catch it.
Still, my advice is that if the song is from the first album, play safe and try to find a link from the Budokan concert that sure is around here in RUclips.
Now that some rights have been granted to Live Viewing Japan due to their broadcast streams of some of the older concert recordings they (LVJ) have been handing out Strikes (not just blocks). I would not be so sure anything is very safe.

When reacting to them you can maybe just do the same things or do regular reaction since this company doesn't usually block videos, but all up to you. Great reaction and rest assured, you are not the only one being overwhelmed with feelings when watching/listening to Babymetal. It is unbelievable how they can hit you with their performances and believe me, there are so many songs where my eyes get watered. Unfortunately, compilation videos don’t have the same effect for me. The lights in the beginning were from the Legend S concert and they did a similar thing at the Tokyo Dome show where everyone got a neckbrace with a light. It is just a thing they do and it works so damn well every time.
