Great show today Dan and Josh 👍 just regular guys talking regular things and doing it the ethical and moral way. In this time it seems like Morals are really going out the window(not for say hunting just normal every day life) Keep doing great things 👍

Reflecting on the season I wish I used the beast stand instead of a saddle. I can’t find any videos on how to use a saddle in extreme cold weather. Using top notch clothing I couldn’t access my pockets with ease in a saddle. Ropes pinching them off. I struggled big time tonight with a saddle.

I'm 58 and had an eye injury about 5 or 6 years ago and had to use a crossbow so I could shoot left handed and just went back to a compound this season and pulling 62 pounds & shooting well

hearing Dan talking about how Wisconsin handled CWD makes me hope that Kentucky doesn't do the same thing. last year they wanted people to go get their deer tested for CWD across the state I believe

Great conversation guys! Always enjoy deer hunting talk and like deer hunting even more. Hey Dan did you ever try Fish Oil -Omega 3s for your eyes? It’s really helped me in low light conditions and floaters. I’m 67 and hate going to doctors too. 🦌🦌

Back and I believe the late 80s may be early 90s Dan Fitzgerald from Tecumseh Michigan was putting out lots of videos and in one of his videos He actually put one of his large production cameras up in a tree and left it run and came back the next day and watched the film. All of this is on one of his videos so the trail camera idea has been around for a while.! This segment may be on his down for the count 2 video.

Late comment…Dan, you ever consider removing your peep? I have a degenerative eye condition that really impacted my accuracy and ability to see my pins. I eventually took out my peep, put on a kisser and nose button for anchors, then went back to a single pin. I’m good up to 40yards now and got back those last 10min of light

Cameras are not giving anyone an advantage. What ever happened to not knowing what could appear? The curiosity of hunting a new area and not knowing. That’s the fun of the hunt.

The biggest mis-use of information that I see, and have made myself, is being able to understand whether the information you’re receiving is relevant to your area or situation. Doesn’t mean it’s bad information but can send people down a trail that leads to absolute failure. I see it in fishing and hunting.

I'm not even old, well i don't feel like it, haha, and as a young HIP person, I feel really really weird about people and drones and trying to take the suuuuper easier route. Just the simple fact of people flying in other people's lawn. Than fair chase needs to remain fair chase.

I think.. if people would be more ethical with crossbows.. a lot less people would care.. we had somebody around here.. shoot over 80 yards.. hit the deer in the back end.. then found it like 3 months later.. That Deer had to suffer how long.. to die from an infection.. but that could happen with a 20 yard compound shot.. as well but that's more ethical than a 80 yd shot.. Uno what i mean..

Playing it safe all the stuff brought up of cameras drones Literally changing the way how our brains vibrates. It's 🎉getting to where they as hunters don't use woodsmanship skills using perception , reasoning logic strategy and the nessary application to walk with the wild animals we pursue that tempers our visionary senses and who puts more work or self intelligent strategy. You guys on this podcast Playing it safe not willing to put it out as You need and should are no better than the silent enemy that's pervading the minds and synapse so easy to eat up anything that will deliver faster results without the work that provides for the growth of the healthy vibrant creative mind. The other side of the progressive coin is just like RUclips video asking random young people questions how many continents are there or how to tell time without looking at their phones how many days in a year or where the great wall of China is and they don't have the slightest idea but they only can guess almost always wrong all because technology does it for them. And when things become that easy they lose the wanting or the brain action physically pursue created and God Given for the" soul " purpose of all the creative attributes we still have before its too late and we will be governed by machines called computerized systems. No you guys dropped the ball on really laying it out like you should ------ Playing it safe.

I’m fortunate to have 5 farms all to myself in southeast Nebraska (prime area) most is wife’s family and cousins. Live in Missouri lost all my private land to it getting leased. Retired 68 and enjoying lots of time hunting. Spent over 230 hours in a tree stand last year mostly enjoying nature and finally deciding on a nice 8. I have 28 ladder stands spread out on these farms ( going to move 3 to better positions ) and see what 2025 brings. P.S. don’t use trail cameras just see what shows up. 🏹🏕️🏔️🦌🦃🙏💪
