I won’t defend the point of “tennis players won’t be pros in pickleball”, because that’s a silly statement. Many people I play pickleball with CONSTANTLY ask if you have a tennis or any racquet sport background. However, I will defend that pickleball is NOT a “silly game” or “trash game” it’s a fun sport, and I hope to go pro in it. I know that for a while pickleball and it’s players will be ostracized by the tennis community. But hear me out, the reason why at least I am training to become pro is while I was practicing tennis, I experienced trauma that would make me feel like I was never meant to be an athlete, that any sport I put time into would never reward me for the work I put in.
Simply because, I would train for YEARS for tennis, I put in 3-4 hours a day of drills and cardio and 3 hours a day of tennis games and 1 hour a day solely on serves. All while wearing weighted clothes and getting ridiculed by my father. This went on until senior year of highschool where I was diagnosed with narcolepsy, and the same year, I had a falling out with my father, grandmother who supported my tennis had died, and the racket I once held with dreams and aspirations became heavy and riddled with anxiety. I was never varsity in my 4 years of highschool, but in my senior year I was losing to people who were at the bottom of the ladder and I was out of the lineup to even play JV matches. It was gut wrenching. I know there will be comments of “oh you probably trained wrong” or “you had a bad coach” or “just try again” or even “should’ve trained harder”. But when I was introduced to pickleball, it was 4 years since I held a tennis racket, but muscle memory I built up from playing tennis was INSTANTLY giving me an edge while playing pickleball. I understand that it’s comparatively an “easier sport” but if harder games makes it better, shouldn’t we all play rugby or sumo? I enjoy pickleball because I am never going to be good at tennis, but pickleball is giving me another chance to work hard at something and hopefully be rewarded. All while staying fit and meeting new friends.
TL;DR sad boy can’t play tennis cause bad.

Tennis is physically the most difficult sport ever.
Only tennis players will understand, but in short..
In tennis you lose when you do not run. You lose if you dont hit almost every ball well. You lose if you have little experience.
A badminton or ping pong player cannot play tennis at any level without years of training.
A tennis player can learn other racket sports within hours.
A bigger heavier racket requires tremendous power, skill and stamina to put spin on the ball.

pickle ball is supposed to be very light impact, and is more like table tennis than anything. tennis is a very active game, and needs constant movement and a lot of strength when hitting the ball. pickleball is basically the opposite, where you play mostly in the same spot with little to no feet movement, and no where as much oomph when hitting the ball. it’s mostly for the elderly

I don't think most of us (tennis players) really hated pickleball. It was more so the fact that pickleball players started taking up tennis courts. Most of us are the same way when you play at a particular level and you walk out on a court and there's four old ladies playing tennis doubles hitting the ball at like 30 miles an hour max. I'm sure I will be playing pickleball myself in 20 or 30 years.

Some Tennis players just love hating on Pickleball because they are butthurt about the fact there is now more active Pickleball players then tennis players in America and because of that the number of courts (the vast majority of which were consistently empty anyway.
I played national level USTA Jr's as a teenager. Taught and played tennis at a high level. Then I ended up with two massive back injuries from work (lifting people on the boo boo bus) and now Tennis is painful for me if I play to often.
I still love tennis, I still love teaching tennis, but now I play once or twice a month and play or teach Pickleball at a high level. It is easier on my body and I can make much more money teaching it because people are interested and the sport is actively growing as opposed to tennis which has a player base that has been shrinking for decades.
Also, almost every tennis player that said they'd "never play" that I'd gotten to try it? Ends up playing tons of Pickleball and loving it.
