Those animal activists are idiots. Congratulations on your new home, Fiona! You'll be kept safe and warm and well fed and have plenty of vet care. And better yet? FRIENDS!!!! 🥰
Hey protestors, stop protesting for the guys who rescued her to release her. She was just by herself for 2 years. She deserves some personal care and to become a part of a herd again so that she has friends.
Domesticated sheep being released into the wild also causes problems for the sheep bc their wool doesn't just fall out! Imagine having a coat that you can't ever take off, even when it's cold and wet, or when it's far too hot. Saying that you should release a domestic sheep is like saying we should release a pet dog that has been a stray for most of it's life after capturing it, rather than rehabilitating it and rehoming it.
@@draconiusultamius You are absolutely right. How goofy those protestors were to call for releasing that rescued sheep. That was so much wool on that sheep that if not sheared, how could it even walk around in that overload? Then as you said having all that on even in hot and rainy weather. I am sure that the sheep feels much better after being sheared.
They guys that rescued her talked about the weight of her fleece on her body and how it would ruin her joints etc…it’s not a wild animal and it’s not a pet. Anyone or anything that gets rescued has media attention when it first happens then they settle into “normal” life again.
Part of a flock 😊
@@jackysjournals6320 Thanks for the correction. I watch horse videos all the time so herd came to mind.
What are they protesting? That a highly social animal like a sheep who only feels safe with the protection of being inside a *herd* has finally been given the opportunity to live in a herd again? That she got rid of her 10 kg of way too heavy fleece that would have caused her pain and discomfort and eventually death? There is a lot of stuff wrong with what people do to animals. Fiona's story is not one of those times where you need to protest.
Fiona has even made it on the major news tonight in Australia…she’s a superstar now⭐️….the description was..”Fiona was found down the bottom of a steep cliff before a band of Scottish farmers stepped up”…love that…❤️🇦🇺🇦🇺
I saw that too.
Thanks to Graeme the Hoof GP and others
I love it too- great chaps and love Fiona.
This is a beautiful story…I’m so glad she was rescued…unfortunately there was a sheep who was rescued by a vet on “Bondi Vet” tv show by Dr Chris Brown in 2015 after being on the loose for 6 years around Mulligans Flat near Canberra here in Australia….the fleece weighed 18 kilos…the poor thing was left to survive in harsh conditions…it was named “Chris” after the vet and the fleece made the Guinness Book of Records….but unfortunately died in 2019…..after living out her days at a sanctuary…kudos to these men for taking the risk to save her…it’s heartwarming❤️❤️🐑🐑🇦🇺🇦🇺
I watch Dr. Chris on Bondi Vet and enjoy it very much. I was surprised to see Dr. Scott in this video who is also on Bondi Vet videos.
Same reason I clicked on this video. I've watched the story from Cammi and Graeme, but I recognized Dr. Scott right away. So cool to see all these guys together. Guys who really do care so much about animals.
Wow the vet from bondi. Fiona seems to be very interested in the lambs next door to her
Their families must be very proud of them ❤
Absolutely 🇦🇺🇦🇺
Wonderful story.Well done guys.
I had just previously watched news of the lonely sheep that she was rescued. I was pleased to see more of the actual rescue in this video. Congratulations guys for your sacrifices to rescue that lone sheep on very difficult terrain. I have been following the story over the months.
Graham, The Hoof GP, has an awesome RUclips channel. So does Dr Scott.
Cammy from "The Sheep Game" was also part of the crew
@@SapphirasMama I will check him out.
Fiona was named because of a famous sheep called Shrek. He was rescued in New Zealand 2004 and featured on the the Bondi Vet show. Shrek’s fleece weighed 27kg/59.5lbs. Shriek is the most famous, but Chris, a Canberran ram found in Canberra, Australia 2005 holds the record of sheared fleece at 41kg/90.3lbs. He likely had only weeks to live due to his wool.
Other rescued fleece weights:
Shaun, 2014 Merino ram Tasmania 23.5kg/51.8lbs fleece.
Big Ben, 2014 Merino ewe New Zealand 28.9kg/63.7lbs fleece.
Sheila, ewe 2015 Tasmania 21.8kg/50.3lbs fleece.
Ewenice, ewe 2020 found in Victoria, Australia 20kg/44lbs fleece.
Baarack, Merino ram 2021 Victoria, Australia 35kg/77lbs fleece.
Shrekapo, Merino sheep 2022 from New Zealand with 18kg almost 40lbs of fleece.
Alex, 2022 Victoria, Australia produced a 40kg/88lbs fleece.
May Fiona live out her days with friends, good food and loving care. Tip of the hat to her brave rescuers.
Cammie and the boys did a wonderful job and Fiona is rescued!! 🎉
Shout out to hoof GP who was one of the three helpers.
a lot off respect boy s amazing job
The Sheep Game guy and his friends are such awesome men! Great rescue! Wonderful to see a famous VET there to see Thiona! Hope to see updates
Well done! Good people doing great things!
What nitwits those "animal rights activists" seem to be! She barely has been rescued and who is exploiting her? They're taking great care of her and saved her from a very disturbing life for a herd animal helplessly living in total solitary confinement at the bottom of a cliff alone in a cave! Animals do need protection, but surely they could have found animals who are truly abused to defend.
Kindness does go a long way!!!
I’m sure that many people have said that they were not all farmers, farmer, sheep shearer, hoof trimmer and others all RUclips stars that put animal welfare first
Fionas heroes and our hereos too xxx
Fiona seemed to take it all in her stride
I was surprised to see Dr. Scott from Bondi Vet in this video. I love Bondi Vet videos.
I love this story and hate the activists who are clearly having an overreaction in the hope of winning some publicity for themselves….. go Fiona……
I agree. Her life has been saved! 🤦♀️🐑
There is a video here on youtube that shows that those activists went down there to feed and "tame" her for several days in a row. That was quite an effort and they took the risk more than once. Maybe the fact that she was so calm is in part due to their effort. They wanted to take her to a sanctuary. The farmer then got those other farmers (and youtubers) in and told the activists not to come back. Everybody makes money and clicks with Fiona (no critique, just a statement). I think she is in a good place and will live out her live in security and well cared for. I don't think she is exploited, but she will be used for clicks and for making money and popularity.
@@einafets1962The “RUclipsrs” are farmers, a cattle hoof trimmer and his brother and they arranged proper equipment. The activists were dips.
@@WhirlyPearly Yes I know the HoofGP here from youtube and I love his videos. He obviously cares for the animals he treats. He is a youtuber in the sense that he shares his work on youtube. As a german I don't know what "dips" means, but I don't know them, so I can't have an opinion. Flying drones over the farm is not ok.
I’ve lived on a farm with sheep my whole life, and I’ve seen what those activists were trying to do to “gain her trust”. It wouldn’t have worked. If you want to do it, go alone, sit down, and don’t look straight at them. Sheep are excellent at reading body language and if they think they are your main focus they get very anxious.
Dr.chris ❤ turned journalist/ reporter...job well done dr.chris...you now have a backup plan if you need it...
I believe that sheep got lost in the mist and ended up down there from the cliff and that’s where it remained for 2 years and now on this weekend on Saturday they’ve finally rescued her and called her Fiona
Fiona and your rescuers, you are superstars! ❤
Thank you guys for saving Fiona, now perhaps she can find a great ram and have a family of her own. God bless
This proves that Graeme Parker (The Hoof GP) is not the only hero in Scotland. Watching from North Carolina, USA.
Wonderful story! Inspirational! Fiona is in heaven! Great farmers! Good people!
Thank you fiona for letting me have a constuctive comment
She looks so much better after being sheared, dipped, dewormed and put into a knowledgeable home.
Fiona had to be removed from the environment she was living in for her own safety. 2 years without lice dip, shearing or health-care was putting her welfare in danger. Hopefully she will be able to live a healthy and happy life in her new home.
The boys did a fantastic job getting Fiona ❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Those protesters know nothing about sheep. They are herd animals and its so stressful for them to be alone. Fiona must have such a strong mind to have survived. I wish her many happy years with her new family.
Good girl Fiona
Love Graeme and cammy 🎉

@@corvuscorone7735 cheers 🍻 - I felt like I was somehow spamming - but this was newly posted, & I figured they deserved the clicks, and people would appreciate the firsthand story.
@@malaikamillions Totally not spamming
She’s beginning to think , for gods sake I wish I was back on my cliff ….they stole my coat , never get a minutes peace to myself , no seaweed to eat , bloody humans with phones and cameras baaaaaaa 😊
That made me giggle. 😂❤❤
How had she got lost down this awful cliff in the first place?
FIONA IS A RECORD BREAKER!!! The last record was Australia's Chris the sheep. Who had 41 K of wool/fleece. Fiona had 90 K!! Trying to get someone to notice.
About 10kg, nothing huge...
She misses having babies. I hope if she is not too old, that they will breed her so she can have babies.
She must have know those guys were Shepherds. She trusted her
Sad thing is , the rest of the flock probably finished up on someone's dinner plate .
This is a ewe. She produces lambs & wool.
@@Cricket2731and kebab meat 😉
@@tom4412, lamb is good eating, as long as you cook it "low & slow".
Nothing wrong with that...now she has a new flock, or will....and excellent care. I know Cammy will be making sure she is checked on regularly.
Hey you protesters do something constuctive. Help animal owners realize what foods their animals can't have. I had to take mine to an emergency vet to gey a card on what food my dog couldn't eat. Also is it relly true that these so called rat and mice poisons won't hurt your animals? Also not all flee and tick applications work?Try adverising real problems
you seem to be forgetting one major fact when it comes to protestors, they aren't very smart.
What is this place? A farm?! An animal exploitation situation?! Keep up the good work animal activists. Keep up the pressure.
They saved her life, imbecile! 🤦♀️
Shut it, ya git.
I think sarcasm was the point here. @@judithkimmerling770
Oi vegan activist why didn’t you go and rescue the sheep?
Exploitation is exploitation.... activists do the same thing, only 'for a cause'... donations, mostly.
I love the British they talk so cool
Ending up on a farm. Poor thing.
Well fed. Shelter. Company of her own kind. Why poor thing?
She could have been returned to her original owner, put back into her original flock, and sent to the meat market.
Fiona is world wide famous she will live out her natural life on the farm. She is social media SuperSheep. They are selling her wool made into tchotchkes so they can raise money for charity.
Its a SHEEP. It belongs on a farm, with other sheep, being cared for.
Oh, and look up the farm...it may surprise you.
It’s a rare breeds farm, non of the animals are sold for slaughter. Every animal that leaves the farm is followed up, to ensure that they are safe and happy!
The farmers have been so careful in devising a plan, to allow Fiona, to learn ‘how to be a sheep again’ & how to ‘communicate with other sheep’ etc! All done, without stressing Fiona. The farm doesn’t re-open to the public, until Easter, so Fiona can be well integrated with other sheep, quite happily by then !! Believe me, if there is any sign of Fiona being exploited, the Farmers will soon step in, to protect Fiona!!
Perhaps if you check out the farm, you’ll be reassured that Fiona will have a wonderful, safe and secure future, ahead of her!
