Not at all sarcastic Daniel, I didn’t think Eyre was such a common name. Perhaps in the west of Ireland it is, but I don’t think I know anyone called Eyre.
@@nakedireland Well most of the family (along with other Anglo-Irish families) emigrated in the 18th and 19th centuries. Because they weren’t the oldest son & couldn’t inherit anything and the estates they couldn’t inherit were mostly riddled with debts anyway. Many would try for fortune and glory by careers in the military (or that of merchant companies like the east India company); but many would just emigrate and try their luck as some sort of traders or squatters or ministers in the Anglican clergy. One of my ancestors Robert Dudley Eyre emigrated from Eyrecourt Galway Ireland to New Zealand in the 1860s. But there are also thousands of people who’re descendants of Mayor Edward Eyre of Galway all over the Anglosphere and a few people in history: Eyre Coote, Eyre Crowe, Claude Aukchenleck, to name a couple.
Daniel It’s great that you’ve such a sound knowledge of your ancestry. Hope you enjoyed the video and I hope there may be other films that might be of interest.
Beautiful part of the world!
Sure is!
This one was really great! Looka like I'm going to have to pay a visit
You can never go wrong with a trip to Galway James. Hope you had a nice Christmas?
A youthful and vibrant area of the city
Yes, a great vibe.
I like your videos, very calming and informative
Thank you Brandon. Glad you enjoy it. Feel free to share with friends.
Named after my distant ancestor.
Honestly? Wow, I’m honoured Daniel.
@@nakedireland LOL you’re being sarcastic right?
Because it’s really nothing remarkable. There would be thousands of others across the world.
