Great cover! The more I see covers of this song, the more impressed I am with Dave Lombardo. I can just imagine when they recorded this song in the studio: they set the drums up, did a sound check, and then Dave sat at the drums and they said "Ok. We're recording". Then he played that. Imagine the stunned silence in the studio at the end of the song. People had just witnessed something amazing. Much respect to Mr Lombardo, and to Daniel Moscardini for this fantastic cover.

Slayer would have been better off with the drummer from Metallica - he's been a much more loyal member of his band over the years, not even quitting the band once .
@@robertdegraaf8708 Listen to Saint Anger and then tell me that Lars would be a better fit. Lars had two good albums maybe three the rest is un-inspired slop. Slayer would be so fucking boring with Lars on the throne. Besides that have you ever looked into what you're talking about? Lars never quit the band because he's a majority holder of it and racks in tons of cash. He did how ever stop caring about playing songs properly, and hasn't put on a great show in a decade. Dave quit because he noticed that the band was getting screwed over by the managers and people associated with the band but who weren't members. The rest of the guys were happy with the money they were getting, he was not. 67,000 a year for a band like Slayer is pretty jacked up. Was it a dick move? Maybe, but we don't know how things went personally. Want to know what he did not do? Sell out the fans and become a complete and utter douchebag. Metallica and Lars are greedy sell outs man. Napster anyone?

What I love about this is you get nuances in the ping ride hits from 2 mins in to 2:25. They aren't just straight sixteenth notes hit at the same pressure. Fast double bass and tom playing aside this little stuff makes Lombardo a genius.

If I'm not mistaken. This is quite impressive because he's using an old school technique that Ringo Star had, in which he leads with his left hand instead of the conventional right. Nicely done.

Seasons int he Abyss for me as well, and its not close. I feel its Lombardo's best work (for Slayer anyways).
Stagecoach Robbery yep. Dave was more comfortable with his playing I think. Great fills and some cool subtleties on Abyss.
