In 2011, this forest of Phoenix theophrasti palms was scorched by fire. Only the blackened palm tree trunks remained. Amazing to see the recovery in just a few years.

Interestingly, fire can be beneficial to palm and pine trees, helping stimulate new growth. This looks to be the case here.
