Building On Fire With Train Passing In Heavy Snow! Locomotive Shoving Rear Over Track Heaters CSX!

- Filming a Train Going Past an Abandoned Building & The Fire Department got called for a Structure Fire! A CSX loaded welded rail train had just passed. Fire Trucks were responding to the abandoned paper mill fire. These trains are in Hamilton, Ohio and Hamilton Fire Department is featured. The welded rail train is in a previous video and minutes after I filmed it I saw the fire trucks. They responded to the same building that I filmed the rail train passing. This video shows a CSX local freight passing the building with the fire trucks in the background. I didn't see any smoke or fire but a pedestrian told me that there was smoke in the building. We see another CSX freight train pass the building and then I moved a short distance near the old freight station to film a CSX intermodal with a DPU shoving the rear. We also see the track heaters as the train passes over them at the interlocking. The final train is between the train station and the paper mill buildings. We see a CSX auto racks train at a railroad crossing. The train was just creeping by so I only filmed part of it but got the best part of it in the snow. There was a winter weather advisory in effect and it took me twice as long to get home. CSX main frequency is 160.230 and Norfolk Southern uses 160.980 on their track.

Great news! When you look at the architecture and workmanship on these old stations, you realize that buildings like this will never be built again. They are a testament to American craftsmanship that you don't see in most of today's buildings. It's a heartbreak to see these torn down. So glad this one is being saved.

Hi Jaw Tooth. Great video. There’s something special watching trains in the bad weather. Schools may let out and other things delay or shut down but trains run despite the bad harsh conditions. That freight is expected to be where it’s supposed to go.

DPU Alright at 12:35 Those train heaters are useless over here when we get all the snow we've been getting lately. The maintainers had to stand there all night and keep clearing the switches out to keep them working even though they have heaters on them, electric ones in this case.
Heaters. in most locomotives are on the engineers side and work exceptionally well
Yeah Conrail put some in here in
Anderson Indiana, they protect the
crossovers for Anderson yard and
the split to the Dow Line now used
by NS to Muncie and Elkhart yards!!

I love trains in the snow. I have great memories of watching New York Central (later Metro North) commuter trains run in snow storms and blizzards as well as CSX here on the Hudson Valley line. 12:50is, with that DPU in the rear, I wonder if they spilt that train and sent the back half off with a new loco or two at the front going another direction. Also those switch heaters get the Hank Hill seal of approval lol.

No dpu and you dont need it when you have pure EMD power with 2 SD40-2s the train after no lacking in power either with GE and an ET44AC GEVO unit but anyway thank you mr Jawtooth for another very awsome video
