I drove grisman's band around the day when they played at the Cellar Door and Seldom Scene were in the audience. Actual lyric "and her age I did not know".

"Actual lyric"? This is a folk song. I've heard it as "her age I did not know," "her name I did not know," and "her name and age I did not know." I'm sure there are other variations.
