Do you know what’s 10-1000x more expensive than hiring an employee? A co-founder. If you can push through it alone, you have a huge amount of additional leverage a year or two down the line. It comes down to a personal choice.
These are mostly Product Management knowledge but it comes back to her first and most important point which is to assemble a well-rounded team. If you are just a team of developers, get a very competent Product Manager. Don't bother with loud and always-on-Red-Bull junior POs/PMs. Not every 21 year-old Zuckerberg-wannabe out there is worth your time and effort. Anisa is obviously an exception, a rarity rather than a common occurrence.

The best educational material on bootstrap startups after Rob Walling book "Start small Stay small" and after same his interview to Loius Grenier in 2018 and another one off his podcast, out on 2015 called "Steady step approach to bootstrap". But this one in addition has form of great entertaining video!
YC like any accelerator is sort of a course, it gives you a knowledge and connections. And an option to pitch your startup before investors in the end. So if you are not pitching at the end, then you end up with you just finished a startups school. So yes, you remain bootstrap type of startup.

She said they want through Y Combinator 2015 batch. But I dont think they got any funding there. I think they pitched and nobody invested
