I’ve only worked on one big saltwater lever drag - a Shakespeare Wonder Troll reel. Until you found a schematic for me to go by, I could not fix the ree. Schematics are absolutely necessary for servicing or repairing an unfamiliar reel! Great video Dennis! By the way, I got in an absolutely beautiful Daiwa 9000C today. I now own four of them but I’ll never forget that you found me my very first one. That helped finish my 1st complete set of all the Daiwa Silver Series reels. Now I am only one reel shy of a second full set. - Chris
Hi Dennis, Penn uses a similar design of the bearings and spool/drag spring on the now long discontinued graphite lever Senator reels 25, 40 and 45 GLS. I made the same mistake of installing the spring on the wrong side of the spool and had to scratch my head as to what I did wrong. I won't ever forget the lesson learned. Avet has come a long way in the past 10-15 years and in some reel classes surpasses Penn and Shimano. To me, the only downside is their numbering system and parts availability.
I am fascinated by this brand of reels and would love to own an avet but alas! Can’t pull the trigger on the price point lol. Dennis, have you to thank though for so many intros to great reels that I can afford
Thanks for asking. I do not have one in my shop, but I will add it to my request list and try to do a video when one comes in. The video I did on the Tidewater 30 is very similar to the ATS, which replaced it You can watch that here ruclips.net/video/CxLTJv-DOv4/видео.html

Wow - I think you should leave a few of the 9000C reels for others!

Thanks again. The numbering system is the gear ratio.
Great job of diagnostic.
Thank you

Thanks Bob. Glad that these videos inspire you. And I agree, some of the pricing on reels has gone way beyond my budget - Dennis
