i have been having this problem for atleast 2+years and this video helped me fix it, with my mouse the same problem was worse then shown in the video, now i can actually scroll :)
Thank you man God Bless you!!!! Thank you very much! one tip I have for those of you that's going to open your mouse when you detach the cover put much attention to not folding it very much! if you did once you finished you will stop feeling the scroll in your hand, it'll be very smooth! and again thank you, the world needs more people like you Keep up the good work!
broo thank you soo much u just brought us a real answer i watched and repaired yesterday night wheel not working today morning i fixed with ur video thnks a lot dude love you their was dirt in the wheel clean and works fine now THANKS A LOT AGAIN LOVE FROM SRI LANKA ❤❤
yo thank you so much bro ive had the same issue and this video fixed my mouse i am so greatful that they made you. you are such a good technician i hope you help some more people like me. THANK YOU!!!!
Thanks. I tried fixing the scroll different ways but taking apart the scroll was what fixed it. I accidently lost the clamp to one of the ribbon cables. Fortunately I had a spare band aide that I cut with scissors to put 2 layers on the blue plastic ribbon inserting end. It is wedged in place with a little more band aide taping the ribbon in a 90 degree fold holding the cable in place. Good work on the video.
Before watching this i didn't even know how to open these type of rgb mouse and now i thank you that this helped me. (btw i did it without removing the ourter cover of rotary encoder switch). scroll wheel seems more smoother now by feel
did this for my death adder, cleaned the springs and lifted them up however, I ended up breaking a couple of prongs that held the spring wheel on the encoder but there were two more prongs that were able to be pushed back in place without breaking off, works great again. Thank you friend.
EXCELLENT - Thank you! You nailed it - I have a J-Teck Digital (kindof a vertical erogonomic wrist-saving mouse), and this was THE solution. You are my hero... well, today.
MAGICALL!!!!!!!!!! my mouse wheel just fixed while I watching this video >>>>>>> hahaha.. i know the error will return ,,, thanks for your uplift ! i will go for some repair technique also ....cheers!
Yes, this is exactly what I did. It helped me so much but before I did those I didn't exactly know what I was doing and I thought why not "Let's improvise if this breaks I buy another one" and after some minutes taking all the parts I suddenly saw a looking copper that has a broken arm just like the video a circle kind of copper that spins around when scrolling after that I decided to bend it so that it will reach the edge where the arm usually scratches itself to read the input of scrolling. But now, it's working perfectly fine and no more stressful gaming when playing AAA games and I'm so happy because I fixed my own stuff just doing it by myself. TIP: When you want to understand the function and try to fix any hardware device or tools you should analyze it first and look into it carefully before moving and touching the parts. Try it. Just want to share this because I'm very proud of myself.
Oh My God!!!! It actually worked. I had the exact same problem as you and It was annoying af. I followed you and now my mouse wheel is working perfectly. It made my mouse wheel so smooth like there is no clicking when scrolling. I'm not sure if it was like this when I bought it. But it is working fine now so it's all good. Thank you.
It just worked for me and I fixed my GTX 105 IZZA mouse (despite it has the encoder case soldered on the pcb and I struggled to fix it without having to desolder that piece), thanks a lot!
If you don't want to open the mouse wheel completely, you can simply open all four screws of the mouse and blow on the sides of the wheel with an empty pen.
You're a life saver !! My mouse a bit different, the bracket was soldiered to the board i couldn't take it out so i just blew on the encoder and it worked lmao
For a mouse this expensive, this is unforgivable, but at least we have this video. Great! Edit: You're lucky man because my mouse is a different version. It has only 2 screws and no screws for the board, so it's a risk. And the ringy thing is not removeable because it's soldered and desoldering it will probably melt it. So I'm not going to buy any MSI products anymore. #rightstofixit
OMFG, this is the exact problem i had, i just did that (with much less care because i thought the mouse was broken for good), and it actually worked, same problem with scrolling down and it going up, B-Hop king i back baby, no more switching weapons when bunny jumping in csgo
Just cleaned my Legion M300 Gaming Mouse. The outer cover of the rotary encoder switch cannot be removed as it is soldered to the pcb so I just bended it long enough to remove the scale wheel cover and the wheel itself. I fixed the backtracking scroll issue of the mouse but there is no more friction when scrolling lol, at least its working
It worked for me! mine was similiar but they soldered the metal guard/holder in to the "mouse motherboard" so it was diffucult to get that part out and put back in, mine was dirty too.
worked well for logitech g403s. My scrolling was wrongly going up and down in every few clicks. Now scroll is very good but, I lost the clicky feeling probably because i messed up the little metal part.
thanks man, i learned how to repair it from you, but other mouse i tried to apply that refused to open that wheel contraption, and those holding pins on sides that you had there were soldered, so i was unable to repair it bcs i do not have a heat gun for that and soldering iron do not have head that big so it would come out at the same time but thatnks, i will buy new mouse :D
i have the same problem, but my mouse is a different one and I'm stuck at the removing of that rotary encoder since mine is soldered in and covered by the left mouse button
Hey man, Thanks for the well explained video. It helped to fix my mouse. I cannot describe the feeling after it got solved. Altough, I think I might have folded the little bronze things way too up so my got wheel got way too stiff. Would it come back to it's normal stiffness?
@@DIYwithAK It came back to its normal stiffness. Its a HP Gaming mouse. though the problem I am having is that the first scrolling doesnt detect and It needs to be moved 1-2 slides to do one 1 slide.
@@DIYwithAK I think its hardware issue. Again It detects one input of scroll each 1-2 scroll randomly. O don't know if there is an software option to do this as well
If the contact button on the board is not clicking when pressing: new mouse/warranty. If it's clicking but randomly not working try cleaning the area around the click button on the board. An check to see if the plastic part is broke an epoxy/add/replace with-add some cheap stick
All you need to do it blast it with electrical contact cleaner, you don't need to take it apart. That will do the job and doesn't leave residue behind.
My problem is a little different. The problem is that the pulley itself is not connected to the encoder or to the rotating gear that you remove and clean. What is the solution?
Duuuude, you're the only guy I found to actually show how to do it properly !
I spray my wheel with contact spray from time to time to the same effect without having to disassemble my mouse.
i have been having this problem for atleast 2+years and this video helped me fix it, with my mouse the same problem was worse then shown in the video, now i can actually scroll :)
Best mouse scroll repair video on RUclips. 👍 Just repaired my MSI Clutch GM11.
Thank you man God Bless you!!!! Thank you very much!

That's a great tip.
Oh shit. I did it and now my scroll wheel is smoooth. But its working fine so I don't care lol.
Thank you for showing the inside of the scrolling mechanism!
My god It's been years I've had this problem! It only took a few minutes to fix it, thank you very much.
Just the video that I am looking for! It made my cheap Trust mouse's scroll wheel work again. Thanks a lot!
Glad it helped!
thank you so much bro i almost broke the decoder but in the end the wheel was so smooth i didnt expect it to work. i subed and liked
broo thank you soo much u just brought us a real answer

Finally a good video to end this mess with my scroll wheel! Had a Corsair Harpoon with exact the same problem! All runs well after that tutorial 🥰
yo thank you so much bro ive had the same issue and this video fixed my mouse i am so greatful that they made you. you are such a good technician i hope you help some more people like me. THANK YOU!!!!

Glad it helped. And yes those prongs are delicate.
This guy is legend. Fixed MSI GM08 DRAGON. saved 20$
I just tried it to my 1 month old alienware mouse 610m!! and it fixed the problem. Thank you so much
Thank you for showing the insides of scroll wheel now I know whats inside and can safely fix my wheel.
EXCELLENT - Thank you! You nailed it - I have a J-Teck Digital (kindof a vertical erogonomic wrist-saving mouse), and this was THE solution. You are my hero... well, today.
Thanks for the kind words, I'm glad it worked for you!
Thank you so much. Now 2023 it still works. 😍😍

Thank you !! Im not even good with thees kind of stuff and i figured it out , you saved me from buying a new mouse , again , thank you
omg thank you so much man. i almost replace my mouse, thanks for this guide i save money.
It just worked for me and I fixed my GTX 105 IZZA mouse (despite it has the encoder case soldered on the pcb and I struggled to fix it without having to desolder that piece), thanks a lot!

Worked like a charm ... Although not smooth like it was before but i dont have to buy a new mouse because of a faulty scroll wheel
Thanks, Mam. It solved my problem in 2 minutes.
Thank you very much for that simple and helpful video 👍🏼
Your video just helped me out, thanks for making this video
thanks for this problem solving vedio...it works properly..
If you can't find a new encoder, this is a good fix.
maked this to a msi clutch gm10. worked pretty well, thanks!!
absolutely the best repair video thnks a lot . fixed my redgear a 15
Great to hear!
Thank you a lot for short and really usefull video without any bullshit.

thanks, i fixed my mouse this way is now working as new , i hope this fix to last long
It does. I fixed mine more than a year ago and my mouse held up really well. No issues after
thank you so much! this worked for me

Yes. It's tough when they manufacture it in a way that cannot be repaired
Thank you so much, mouse wheel works perfect 👌🏻
OMFG, this is the exact problem i had, i just did that (with much less care because i thought the mouse was broken for good), and it actually worked, same problem with scrolling down and it going up, B-Hop king i back baby, no more switching weapons when bunny jumping in csgo
Just wow bro your youve made my day dont have to spent money on a new mouse
Worked great with my 3DConnexion Cadmouse!
Cool demonstration - good work - I will try to get it fixed by someone, since I don't have the tools
Bro thanks 👍 for this I have archer tech lab recurve 300 a very costly mouse for me but now I have hope that my money not going for waste
worked like a charm thx 🥰
i have a problem with mouse clicking, the same mouse. im not sure how to fix it, but scrolling seems to be fine
Will this also work on Logitech g102 ?
I have same issue with this

I fixed the backtracking scroll issue of the mouse but there is no more friction when scrolling lol, at least its working
Yes you may lose the friction or steps in the scroll wheel but it will save the mouse.
It worked for me! mine was similiar but they soldered the metal guard/holder in to the "mouse motherboard" so it was diffucult to get that part out and put back in, mine was dirty too.
This worked for me. Kailh 11mm encoder wheel.
Rapoo wireless mouse.
thanks, it works perfectly
Niceee broo...this helped me fix my wheel
Kharach ka
very helpfull. thanks
Extremely helpful
Thank you very much 👍👍👍👍👍
Big Thanks ❤️ it worked for me havit ms 1027
worked well for logitech g403s. My scrolling was wrongly going up and down in every few clicks. Now scroll is very good but, I lost the clicky feeling probably because i messed up the little metal part.
perfekt , fixed my mouse i'm pressing like button right now
it helped a lot. thanks.
Thanks it worked!!!

Yeah, those are difficult to get to.
Different mice have different construction.
I'm sorry though it didn't work for you
This actually work !!! Thank you. My mouse works like a charm now
works*
Thanks ❤
thank you so much i was planning to throw away my mouse it really worked appreciated
Is what is done in this video also valid for "legion m200s"?
Should technically work with any mouse
top ! thanks you very much !
i have the same problem, but my mouse is a different one and I'm stuck at the removing of that rotary encoder since mine is soldered in and covered by the left mouse button
Someone suggested me to disconnect the mouse and use a little bit of WD40 spray. And let it dry off before using again.
You can try this.
@@DIYwithAK i dont have wd40. if I'm right, its not in stores near me
can you show how to fix when legion mouse side button is faulty
Hey man, Thanks for the well explained video. It helped to fix my mouse. I cannot describe the feeling after it got solved. Altough, I think I might have folded the little bronze things way too up so my got wheel got way too stiff. Would it come back to it's normal stiffness?
That needs to be seen.
Most probably the stiffness will reduce by a bit but not go back to how it was before.
@@DIYwithAK It came back to its normal stiffness. Its a HP Gaming mouse. though the problem I am having is that the first scrolling doesnt detect and It needs to be moved 1-2 slides to do one 1 slide.
If it happens everytime you scroll then most probably need to adjust in system settings for mouse.
@@DIYwithAK I think its hardware issue. Again It detects one input of scroll each 1-2 scroll randomly. O don't know if there is an software option to do this as well
Огромное огромное спасибо!!Разобрал,подогнул,почистил,собрал обратно и все прекрасно заработало!!А я уже хотел выкинуть))Еще раз спасибо,подписался 🤝
The clicks do not work sometimes when i play games. Any solutions?
If the contact button on the board is not clicking when pressing: new mouse/warranty. If it's clicking but randomly not working try cleaning the area around the click button on the board. An check to see if the plastic part is broke an epoxy/add/replace with-add some cheap stick
Thanks for the good video. The Microsoft Ocean Plastic Mouse uses exactly the same system. What a cheap construction for a heavy used scroll wheel👎
Thanks, it works
Thank you man had the exact same problem as you may allah bless u (from muslim brother may allah convert u to islam ) Thank you very much
Allah don't exist
thanks, you solved my problem. I broke the mouse and bought a new one.
What sorcery is this, it worked 🤓
All you need to do it blast it with electrical contact cleaner, you don't need to take it apart. That will do the job and doesn't leave residue behind.
Didn't know about it, thanks
it wasnt enough for mine
Hes extending the contacts too. In case they are pressed down too far
My mouse is hyper x pulsefire fps pro and the cover of rotary encoder is somehow soldered soldered to the board :((
thanks buddy
My mouse sensor stopped working? My scroll wheel is fixed though
it worked thank you
god bless you man
thanks
The bottom side button is broken...how do I fix it ....please help me 😭
My problem is a little different. The problem is that the pulley itself is not connected to the encoder or to the rotating gear that you remove and clean. What is the solution?
Hello
I am not actually aware of that kind of setup. I'll see if I can find some info
thank you
worked for me
thank you so muchhhhhhhhh
tnx its work
wow i broke my scroll thanks :)
no hate it was my mistake :
Yeah,
Sometimes it is difficult to get to.
And different construction with different mice.
الف شكر جربتها واشتغلت ميه ميه
Good to hear it helped.
6000 year old invention and we still can't get it to work properly on a mouse. I think I got a solution to patent.
thankss brooo
tyanks
Blowing air into the weel and removing some dust fixed it for me.
👍🏻
I tried blowing compressed air but unfortunately that didn't work for me.
love ya
lol just did this and it fix the problem. thank you
try it with a havit mouse
