    I genuinely want to know WHO gets into Stanford. like they have a class of 2k people, and they have 40k+ applicants. but like, even in my school the last person to have gone’s name isn’t even known now (that’s how long ago it was).
    So where are they getting their students LMAO

    Congrats. Princeton is awesome. My daughter got in everywhere (H, Y, and S) but was rejected by Princeton ! It’s very strange how these things turn out. She picked S.

      Stephan Cohen Yeah this process can seem super random sometimes! I think everyone ends up where they’re meant to go and what’s Princeton for me could be a state school for someone else!

    I don't know about this girl, she's way too emotionally and mentally stable for me. I watch these "decisions" videos to see people have hare-brained emotional meltdowns before and after opening their videos, lunatics like me can relate to that better.

    • @annettelee0824
      @annettelee0824  5 лет назад +2

      It's been a hot minute since I've checked the comments on this video lol! I actually don't really want to put out a stats video just because I feel like they generally make people not feel too great about themselves (even though they're all amazing in their own respective ways!) and they don't really do a great job of doing their intended purpose (helping people with the college app process). The stats that get me in won't necessarily get someone else in yeah?

  • @athraaalghazaly6991
    @athraaalghazaly6991 5 лет назад +10

    Stats?

    • @annettelee0824
      @annettelee0824  5 лет назад +25

      To be completely honest with you, I’m not sure if stats videos as a whole are a good idea. I’ve found that they often create a lot of anxiety for people and I’m not sure if that’s something I want to encourage y’know? There are a million different ways to get into Princeton or CMU SCS or Vandy and I was just one example of that. Admissions can be so random nowadays that I’m not even sure if I’d be accepted last or next year if I were to apply in the past or future, and I’m not sure if I’m qualified to say “ah yes this is how to get into Princeton.” Things will work out the way they will and me sharing my stats probably won’t significantly change the college results of anyone haha

    I believe they are two types of Waitlisted student. The first kind is the "average" Waitlisted student the school thinks can do the work but isn't their first choice for whatever reason (e.g. not quite as strong SAT; from a geographic area that is over-represented; wants a too popular major). The second kind is the "overqualified" Waitlisted student the school does not offer an Acceptance because of Yield Protection; the school thinks the student will be accepted to a "more desirable" school, will turn down their Acceptance, and will hurt their Yield (the percentage of Acceptances who actually attend). I am guessing you are of the "overqualified" type so you got on a lot of Waitlists from schools that expected you to get "better" offers. Congratulations and thanks for sharing.
