best hockey and third most popular sport in the world and yet it's so underrated. i don't see many people talk about this sport much often.

The low popularity is probably because it is hard to play, needs well made ground and is dangerous.
Here in india, mostly north indians play this game (mainly from punjab state). My cousin played this on state level and got his leg cracked.

I play hockey in the uk and we played a game against a team of only indians and let me tell you... their objective is to hurt you. This one guy put a hole in my leg with his stick I got very lucky not getting seriouly injured but my leg has a dent in it and a scar months later

Aman Singh very much agreed, just here in Australia i find that field hockey is mostly spread by word. For example my friend had no idea what sport to pick for my school (we have to choose a sport to do for school) and i suggested hockey since i have been playing for over 5 years at that point, after giving him some tips he really enjoyed the game and even joined a club, and he too told someone about hockey and they picked it up.

I have played for 7-8 years and have 0 back problems
been playing for nearly 10 years and i am only 17 and after a game my back start to ache but that may not be solely due to hockey
after 24 years my back is done. Artritis. I`m 30 but 2m01. my stick was a 38.5 inch but those were the biggest ones. I`m sad i had to quit
Hope you know there is a masters hockey world cup where 60, 70 and 80 year olds play. No back problems. Actually playing hockey helps your back. Back problems happen when you stop bending and then suddenly have to bend...but people who keep bending as part of play keep their back muscles flexible

There's no ranking/rating system in hockey for reasons too obvious to explain. Teams are ranked but not individuals; it's not tennis.

I read a comment supposedly a GK saying they were terrified? As a former GK, Coach and Club Executive I suggest the terrified GK get better coaching and or a new Sport.
With full Protective padding no true good GK is ever scared of blocking a n opposition shot at goal, suggest to the terrorfied GK to do more easy practice shots to build confidence and read the play better, call the opp leads to direct defense to reduce time and space of opp fwds and gaps, anticipate the fwds shot position decide early to slidetackle or stay back and bisect shot angle and react, also direct defense to block shots centrally and force opp fowards to shoot if rarely they can, from acute angles and easy to block there goal shots.
I’m a goalkeeper too. When I first started I was scared but then I realised the ball don’t actually hurt when it hits your chest pad but now need to remember to put the groin protector on because boi that hurts like hell when you forget.

It was my first year of playing indoor and my 3rd or 2nd last game to finish the year of indoor. It was a good game we won 4 - 1 my last goal was legendary, there was a defender, I dragged right and then quickly dragged the ball left, the defender lost his balance and I scored I went up to him and I was like "You alright?" Everyone was cheering (if I recorded it, it would be awesome)
