    Great video!
    Only things I do differently below:
    -Use the Caps that come with the new filter to block the old ones once the hose is removes. Frees up a hand.
    -Take the input hose off first. Probably not needed but I don't want FOD caught in the filter to back into the input line in case my clamps are leaky.
    -I also prime via the Key. Key on (NO IGNITION, Don't press brake in to avoid engine start) 30 seconds (hear the pump stop), repeat at least 5 times. I do 6x as I think the VCDS command pump is a higher Duty cycle compared to the accessory pump cycling. I own a VCDS, but doing it in one motion helps me from forgetting.

    • @markb6s4
      @markb6s4  Год назад +1

      Someone else mentioned that they also prime it with just switching the key to on a few times. I just felt as ez doing it with vcds

    Great video. I never used the scan that tool or program you have but I do cycle the key so it cycles the fuel through. I’m on my 5th fuel filter. Keep the videos coming Mark.

    Great video as always Mark. I was wondering about the VCDS and the Malone tune you have. They are compatible? I assume they would be but was curious if there were any issues with using the scan software with the Malone tune on there.

    Hi i have a 2008 with the fuel filter in a black canister not this type. I fitted one but now car keeps saying low fuel pressure bank 1. Is there air in system maybe as i did the flush at the time??

    • @markb6s4
      @markb6s4  5 месяцев назад

      Not familiar those those do fuel filter set ups. But know what you are talking about. That may be the issue. Not the same thing but this happened to me when bleeding the breaks once. Trapped air and made the break peddles really mushy. So in the same sense it can be trapped air somewhere

    My 2008 tdi q7 has strange humming noise coming from this filter. Would this mean time to replace. Humming noise started when glow plug light come on and went into limp mode.

    • @markb6s4
      @markb6s4  2 года назад +1

      If it hasn't been changed since 2008, then it's long over due to change it. If you are sure the noise is coming from the filter. Something in the filter may be coming undone on the inside that when fuel is passing by is making it make a sound

      @@markb6s4 Hi, my Audi went in for major service as its noted. I think for now the problem is solved on my Audi 58 plate 2008/2009 Q7 s-line with the humming noise coming from what I thought was an in-line filter.
      It turns out on my one, its an in-line return fuel pump which is mounted just above and offset to the back on the passengers side of engine bay from fuel filter/ canister. Only 4-5 inches of rubber hose connecting the two.
      Would post a picture but unsure how to.
      Fingers crossed humming has stopped.

    • @markb6s4

      There have been several people that have done this with out using VCDS. I believe all they do is turn off and on the ignition a few times to prime it that way. Since I have vcds I might as well use it and be on the safe side

      This is pretty much what you will need. The price very if you get a 3 vin or 10 vin cable. And what that means if you get the 3 vin you can only use the cable only on 3 different cars for the life of the cable. So if you sell a car that the cable has been used on. Youll still have only 2 more cars tonus it on. So make sure that the car you plan on using it on that you plane in keeping it for a very long time
