Tesla investors back record-breaking Musk pay deal | BBC News

- Tesla shareholders have backed a record-breaking pay package for boss Elon Musk and approved a plan to move the firm's legal headquarters to Texas.
The package was blocked earlier this year by a judge in Delaware over concerns it was unfair to shareholders.
The vote is a victory for the multi-billionaire, who had campaigned fiercely for the payout, which is worth up to $56bn (£43.9bn).
Its exact amount depends on the Tesla share price.
"Hot damn, I love you guys," he told a crowd of enthusiastic shareholders who had gathered in Texas for the firm's annual meeting.
But the vote is not binding and legal experts have said it is not clear if the court that blocked the deal will accept the re-vote and allow the company to restore the pay package.

Every week I buy more of whatever is the lowest percentage of my portfolio and try to keep everything around 10%. Please what could be my safest buys with $400k to outperform the market in 2024?
I'd avoid the index funds, mutual funds, or specific stocks for the time being. The 5% fixed incomes are the safest bet for now. Save your cash for when the market actually shows sign of recovery.
This is why I entrusted a fiduciary with my investmnt decisions. Many underestimate advisors until emotions lead to losses. My advisor crafted a tailored strategy aligning with my long-term goals, guiding entry and exit points for the equities I focus on. This has grown my portfolio to over $850k. My personal best so far.
How can I participate in this? I sincerely aspire to establish a secure financial future and am eager to participate. Who is the driving force behind your success?.
My CFA ’Monica Shawn Marti’ , a renowned figure in her line of work. I recommend researching her credentials further. She has many years of experience and is a valuable resource for anyone looking to navigate the financial market.

Breaking insanity: Musk gets more billions in bonus than the company has totalled in profits over its ENTIRE life, despite the stock price being on a constant down trend. Good luck with that, LOL.
He has received 0 compensation for 10 years of work. Shareholders agreed to give musk call options that would expire worthless if the company failed instead of a salary. The vast majority of car companies failed, like nikola motar.
@@justinchase6666 0 compensation .... Wow, what a terrible interview. This guy had nothing useful to say. When asked about the people in opposition of the deal, he offered no information but instead condemned them in an incoherent ramble. When asked about a list of technologies and products Tesla has failed to deliver on, he simply replied by saying, essentially, "they are the future." This guy was not even remotely worth questioning. Zero insight, total Musk cheerleader. He might as well have been drunk. The interview would have been the same.
The guy covers all big tech and is always pretty much right. You are the wrong one
It’s not right or wrong. I love Tesla but the point of the interview question was to state the counterpoint. It’s cultish to only show one side of the coin and not objectively state why some dissented on the vote.

Tesla is not a car company. Tesla is a cult. Pure hype.
Does that makes it's financial success more or less true?
Then don't invest but stfu now shareholders have spoken!!
Tesla used to to be a trillion dollar company and now it’s worth around $557billion . I wouldn’t call Tesla a successful company by any means if you can’t hold your worth or increase it to the next level . Plus they make shit box gimmick cars that kill people and Tesla had the highest accident rate of all times .
Apple is the definition of success not Tesla .
Why on earth did the shareholders vote in favor of the package now? Do they think he need 50 billion USD to do his job? It's an absolutely absurd amount for any CEO.

they've been making 15 - 20 billion a year for the last handful of years. assuming that's stable (it's been dropping since 2020, but lets give them the benefit of the doubt) then a reasonable valuation range of 3 to 8 times earnings is 54 billion to 144 billion. keep in mind elon paid 8.7 time earnings for twitter - and everyone - including elon - agreed that was way too much.
as such, it seems very unlikely that even musk values tesla at anything over 150 billion... privately, anyway. what he tells you? that's a different story.

Apparently shareholders don't care about a company actually producing a good product and making a REAL profit on it anymore. To them, it doesn't matter if a company has never really earned money, as long as the stock value is kept being pumped up artificially. It's all fools gold. Trump media may be the most extreme example of a falsely pumped stock value. NO base in reality whatsoever. That's part of how US Banks created the financial crisis in 2008 and these unrealistically stock prices will be the next big financial crash, - again driven by American greed and lack of moral.
What happened with making money by actually making a real product instead of passive speculation!? SAD.

99% CEO`s are overpaid and dont grow companies, but just jump ship get compensation and go to other companies. Quite often their job is not to even grow company but make money to shareholders and then jump ship when its tanking. Its all about short term goals. In that regard Founder CEO`s are very different.

Elon Musk held up his end of the bargain and the companies should honour theirs. If you make a risky bet at a bookmakers and then they refuse to pay out winnings, you would be pretty pissed off. well, if you do thy work, you reap thy rewards. Only the revolutionary companies like Elon Musk's, OpenAI, Anthropic, Rivian, & many other lesser known high impact companies (like Fusion & Fission Propulsion systems, Warp drive making companies, Bio Technology Engineering etc) should be allowed to incentize their top members (& all their employees to the bottom of the chain) for the breakthrough that they whole as a company achieved. This will lead innovation & If goverment interferes in this stuff, then move out of their zone cause they are hindering the work that could be a worldwide breakthrough.
These are just my opinions and I think these topics should be open for others to express. Yes, some might say that it will make rich more richer but the breakthrough if true and helping everyone in the world then that guy has a right (I need a better word here instead of right) to be rich.
