About Otto pushing Subaru to the white whale, I'll explain. Remember in the proper white whale fight when soldiers went crazy after inhaling the mist and started clawing thier skin off? Otto was going crazy as well. Plus he has the Divine Protection of Xenoglossy, which lets him talk to and understand animals, which likely made it worse.
If you need more proof Otto is best boy, remember when later that same loop, Otto's ground dragon found Subaru, and Subaru figured the witch cult killed Otto cause there was blood and knives on the seat? The author highly implied, when the Cult murdered him, the last thing he ever did was tell his dragon to go back and help Subaru.
Ahhhh that last bit about the ground dragon...that's awesome to read!

honesty i prefer seeing realistic characters like subaru simply because it's painful to watch them sometimes. You cringe and get pissed at them making a heat of the moment decisions but can't truly be mad because you understand them
Exactly, and ppl say he makes stupid decisions too, when they'd probably have the same reaction to a lot of things he goes through. He's one of my most fav characters for how realistic he is with his reactions, everything also makes more sense with s2 context for his childhood.
I legit saw people asking "Am i supposed to side with him, to root for him here? Hes just being massive asshole to everyone!" with the royal election arc. No... obviously, no one thinks hes in the right there. Its the point to make him so unlikable then so he can improve as a person and make bonds with other characters later. We all act as assholes sometimes, were it the wrong sometimes too. Subaru is so damn realistic and relatable to so many of us some developed hate for HIM because he shows OUR ugly side too.
not gonna lie, I sorta skipped most of ep 7 just because of all the cringe I knew was gonna ensue.
Don't worry, all of that people who are cheering on generic and cliche MC will probably get tired at some point. Then they will stumble upon a realistic character and that's when they understand and become mature. Lol.

Personally, I can't believe there wasn't a win for Subaru's respawn at the beginning of "The Outside of Madness". They *intentionally* made it look like as if he returned to his summoning point, even just for a little while. Nothing short of insane editing to me.

About the I love Emilia scene there was something that was cut from the original novle that a lot of people do not know about and that is that when Subaru says I love elimia to rem what he says after that is " But, when I look at you, my heart flutters. …You can think of me as a terrible guy." this show's that he loves them equally just wanted to say this since a lot of people don't know this for some reason.

They removed it from the anime intentionally, we shouldn't consider it canon.
Just thought I'd like to mention how CinemaSins and CinemaWins is made by two separate groups of people and how this man is doing both Anime Sins and Anime Wins by himself with great quality and effort in each video. Keep up the good work man!

A couple wins that I was surprised weren't covered in the end of the video I just have to bring up. The first is how smooth Subaru is in the end with Emilia in his confession to her and getting her to understand his feelings for her, even if she doesn't return them yet. The second is the time travel element and how well it is used with character building and relationship building, like with the scenes of Julius, Felix, and Subaru all together during the different loops, or even Subaru's interactions with Betelgeuse and how they changed throughout the second half of the season.
I just finished it with my Father yesterday, now we are watching the second season

One thing worth mentioning: Petra was able to recognize Emilia in the Identity Concealment cloak, hinting that Petra possesses innate magical talent. (And it has to be sizable talent, too, since the cloak works on Emilia). This might also explain why a certain someone was so interested in the "charm" that Petra gives to Subaru in Season 2.
EDIT: although it's worth mentioning that the only times we've seen the Cloak affecting Emilia, Subaru was wearing it. It's possible that Subaru's Shadow Magic affinity could have amplified the effects of the Cloak, or that his Witch's Miasma or Authority of Envy does something similar to it. So this may not be a good reference point for comparative power level between Emilia and Petra.
For people who don't know re zero too well Reinhardt could have a figth with the sun THE SUN and still win with almost no effort

Subaru being a perfect fit for Betelgeuse’s soul fits so well. Especially since this is essentially Subaru’s character arc. From sloth to hero. It makes so much sense. You dunno how many chills I got when Betelgeuse was complaining about how the witch didn’t acknowledge him. Haha, my brain trembles.

Hey i just realized some things, i always watched you in the tv and never paid attention to the number of views you had in your videos. I'll say what i think, just like you do with animes. I'll say the wins i find in the anime wins. It'll take a bit since my vocabulary is poorly compared yours because I'm Brazilian and only know the basic in English so far.
First opinion:the way you edit is astonishing good, transitions and everything, your voice is perfectly fine, you must have passed of some trouble to be this perfect to adjust the mic. Also your voice is very good for hearing and your reactions are truly and honest, one thing i like to see in people. Your background for giving wins also great, your wins are well deserve given. Win 1: anime sins is an interesting type of channel that shares good things and also sometimes shares what's bad for the anime example is when you said your opinion about asta's screams, not everything is perfect and you did well showing that in wins.
Win 2: it's so amazing seeing you reminding things of other anime to show your point or showing examples of what you're saying.
Win 3: I'm glad because you do such an AWESOME/AMAZING/PERFECT/ASTONISHING/GOOD/GREAT/NICE (oh my lord sorry for this) in the work of your videos, all of them so genuinely good and i really appreciate tour dedication to put all things together and logically explained.

This will always be my favorite anime. I remember pulling an all nighter to finish the rest of the episodes for the second half lol.
I remember after watchi g for my first time, I literally rewatched the show like 4 times alternating dub and sub, it was so addicting and exhilirating.
I don't care what you say, but
Subaru's mental stress throughout the story is on a whole another level as compared to many anime main characters.
My body was trembling this Season 2....can't wait for you to get to it...

Currently watching season 2 so I dont want to rewatch first season rn, but probably will do after second season ends after a bit.. This anime is the closest one to be one of the 5 favorites and if season 2 continues like this it might just get the spot.

This week has been suspiciously great for a week in 2020.
All I'm hearing is that in 2 weeks we're gonna start the chimera ant arc live action movie. Followed by the white whale terrorizing the world. All to be capped off with 2020 being completely annihilated by 2021's mirror force. And then we all died.

Now that I’m thinking about it, I now know why Emilia told Subaru her name was Satella, at first I was hella confused but after rewatching certain scenes and seeing paku’s reaction proving that this isn’t her name, I believe it is because she wanted to see if he would treat her differently or like any other person, she thought for sure he might change how he feels about her if she had the name of the witch but it didn’t (probably because he didn’t know about the witch yet), but she kept saying stuff like she’s a half elf and that her name is Satella and after seeing no difference in how he treats her she likes him even more (their relationship would’ve grown much faster in that lifetime if they both survive)

46:35 OMG, I just noticed it now, but when Satella appears behind Subaru, her lips mouth the phrase, "Aishteru", which means "I love you".
It's not often that characters are lip-synced in anime, so there is special significance when they are, and to think they hid this little nugget beneath our noses all this time.
I REALLY loved re:zero when i watched it, but it seems it never stays in my mind, i barley remember anything from the story except some parts of the white whale arc which is ironic since that beast made things vanish and forced people to forget stuff and its the only thing i remember from this anime (it's mostly because i loved Wilhelm... I even named a character in the novel im trying to write "Wilhelm van hohenheim") ... These great videos have helped me remember stuff greatly so.... Thank you dear anime sins/wins guy, i love your channels and videos especially anime wins

I think one of the reasons he was so stubborn and gone to such lengths against Julius. Even socially, mentally and physically hurting himself, plus his gate doing so is related to him hating himself. He doesn't think highly of himself, he's pathetic in someways and Julius made that clear. Thus he crossed the line.

I couldn’t even pin down exactly everything they changed, but I loved the directors cut so much. I went back and rewatched this show with my brother. It really took it from a show I liked and made it one of my favorites of all time. This truly is the way to refine and polish a show and I cannot appreciate it enough. This show (and this channel 💜) are leagues above the rest!
Man, that scene of Betelgeuse twisting Rem’s limbs until she breathes her last breath made me cry so hard that I had a headache afterwards

I never watched re zero, but yet, when I watched the scene with Wilhelm standing on the white whale and confessed his love for his deceased wife made me cry really hard. not just the voice acting of Wilhelm's VA, but also the Flashbacks, the music and the Artwork in all was, what made me very emotional ❤😢

By the way, about the white letter:
It was, in fact, not the cult who had tampered with the letter(at least not directly).
You see, Rem wrote the letter and given what happens at the end, you can already assume why it was empty.

i had to pause that so many times that munch concentrated re:zero is a kick to the feels.
I know this video came out a while ago, but I still LOVE the implication that Rem wrote the note back to the castle (likely because Subaru still can't write on a professional level yet), so when she was erased, the note went blank. Hence why Ram thinks Subaru declared war upon them. A very subtle hint to what happened to her, but not even so much as foreshadowing. Just incredible to see all these details with a new lens. This show isn't necessarily one of my favorites, but it's easily one of my favorites to rewatch

Was in too much denial during the Betelgeuse Rem scene that it wasn't the saddest scene for me. The saddest for me has to be in Clannad: After Story. I had to take a break watching it for a bit after that.
I just noticed Subaru enters the carriage in the last episode the same way Emilia is introduced for the first time.
Another thing to mention about the fight between Julius and Subaru. Julius stands and fights in a more European fencing fashion,which makes sense for him being a knight.
but if you notice ,Subaru is in chūdan-no-kame which is a kendo stance which links back to him being Japanese. It's such a neat little touch for the two to have different fighting styles from their different cultures.
Seriously I was irritated by Subaru a LOT in S1 from not learning that he was dying and restarting OVER and OVER and not learning from his mistakes and then how he acted at the Royal Selection and being jealous and stupid. But then I finally got through it and liked it more, and him more in the end of S1 and S2. But then after watching your videos twice it literally made me appreciate everything and now afterwards and as a result of your videos it has literally become one of my favorite shows of all time. I SERIOUSLY hope this is one of the few shows that ACTUALLY gets the full story put into Anime form and we actually get a conclusion on everything. Can't think of many shows that deserve it this much, or that I want and NEED to actually see the conclusion in Anime format.

After reading rezero ex vol 2 I now know how Rom knows about the secret entrances into the palace and it's incredibly how well thought out every detail is.
In the fog Otto was not in the right frame of mind, his Devine Protection allows him to understand any language including animals. He could hear the White Whale's voice and that paired with the fog broke his mind. So he does not lose any best boy points as it wasn't his fault.

Another touch I loved about the white whale fight was that When subaru was on top of the whale, reinhard's theme all the way back from the fight with elsa was playing. It just solidifies in our minds that subaru is becoming the hero of the story like reinhard was back then.
I always thought it was the other way around, and that the whale song plays with Reinhardts attack because of his family's connection with the whale

I really have to get into it, i have been putting re:zero off for a long time, but everyone's talking about how good the second season is, and a good Isekai is something i can't complain about.
I like these 1 hour+ cuts where you put all the vids together, they are perfect for grinding out a game meanwhile were you only need to look ever once in a while; the comfort of not having to change the video every 12 minutes is rather desirable.
Oh, by the way, i got a phone call on my frog, some dude called "The Boss" wants me to politely tell you to check your email^^
also I love the introduction of the other witches and sin archbishops.

It was nice to see Satella take out Emilia rather then hurt Subaru cause it just shows how powerful and how much reach she actually has in the world for not having a body anymore. But Episode 15 will always be the best anime episode I will ever watch for any anime... It was so heart breaking and sad but at the same time confused the living f*ck out of me (second time ever crying cause an anime and first time was from Chelsea's death in Akame Ga Kill )

S2 is just another roller coaster of emotions
Subaru is indeed awesome as a character bcs of how human he is with all flaws that comes with. Sadly a lot of people don't like that, we don't like seeing ourselves mirrored, similar reason why some people don't like cats (I'm a total catdad) they're too much like us
Some might say ofc we don't want that bcs we watch this (maybe isekai especially?) to escape but still, if you really want that there's a shit ton of other series for you
28:46 I need to point out that Otto didn't lose any of his bestest boi privileges right there.
Otto has a blessing that allows him to talk to animals and hearing the voice of the White Whale combined with the fog that lets people forget others and which turns people insane to some extent (as we see in the White Whale fight) leaves him in a peculiar state of mind in this moment. Him abandoning Subaru is really not all that surprising anymore (especially since from his perspective it is Subaru who turns insane and is attracting the White Whale).
29:39 The ground dragon with the carriage returning to Subaru may have happened because Otto regretted his decision and decided to return for Subaru only to be slaughtered by the Witch Cult further manifesting his status as bestest boi.
A knight should never punish some one for the ignorance with physical viloance. but teach them with a open hand. That is why jewels fails to me.
