    Internationl flights are being sent out of T3, with much more modern with better lounges

    • @kentuckiansabroad
      @kentuckiansabroad  15 дней назад

      Yes, we can also confirm T3 is much better. We have flown with Copa Airlines from T3. But it seems Avianca is still being held in T2 for now.

    Trip Report very good. Since November, Avianca Business class has access to the Star Alliance VIP lounge in Terminal 3 Guarulhos - São Paulo airport

      @kentuckiansabroad  8 месяцев назад

      That’s good to know. However, both times I flew with Avianca from GRU, I had to check-in at Terminal 2, which is not nearly as good as Terminal 3.

    This video was posted the same day that I went to Laos!
    We stayed for 3 weeks and then came back home in Tennessee earlier today.

    Avianca doesn't offer business class on any route except LAX and those to Europe anymore. Anything else, is just their economy service with the option to get a nicer seat. So - unfortunate you're expectations weren't met, but this is pretty clear on their website and when booking and has been for more then a year now, and since I flew them last. This review needs a bit of a shift to that perspective. If you are looking for true Business, in South America, LATAM or COPA are your best options, but you probably know that. Avianca should be considered a budget carrier within the America. Sorry but I don't think this review is super helpful as the perspective and your expectations of a business class, and not being clear on what Avianca is actually offering.

      Actually, Avianca sells this seat as XXL Business Class and my ticket actually has it listed. I would post the photo here if RUclips allowed. As you can see in the video, Avianca does try to offer premium service on the flight with a Business Class meal, etc. But it simply falls short, and I’m surprised Star Alliance has not canceled their membership. 😂 But you’re correct, that Latam is the only airline in South America with reliable Business Class. COPA has Business Class service, but on much smaller aircraft. And we have multiple videos with both of those airlines. We also have a video with Avianca on the LAX route, which was less Business Class than this video to Bogotá.

      I can fly Avianca business class from Bogota to LHR for less than half the price of what an Air France or BA ticket would cost me from Latin America. It's a no brainer.

      Yeah, Avianca has a good price point. That’s the only thing keeping the airline hanging on.

    Avianca the worst airline in South América.

      That certainly might be true. I imagine only the budget airlines are worse!

    Avianca is a lower cost per flight airline. Business class is NEVER going to be the same as what you would get when you pay for premium service from, say Qatar Airlines or even America's United Polaris at twice the price. I appreciate that you wanted more but it's unfair to expect it from a service that has chosen to be at a lower price point. Your criticism is therefore, in my opinion, not reasonable.

    • @kentuckiansabroad
      @kentuckiansabroad  17 дней назад

      Criticism is always reasonable when customers pay nearly $1,000 USD for a “business class” flight.
      Yes, Avianca is not the same price point as Qatar Airways, but that price point is outrageous silly as well. Qatar certainly has better service than Avianca, but nothing about a Qatar flight is worth $5,000 - $7,500 USD.
      The price points chosen by airlines is completely irrelevant and fluctuates wildly at different times of the year. It’s the service standards which should be reviewed and criticized by customers.
      If Avianca is going to label itself as a low-cost carrier, then it should stop pretending that it offers business class. It’s misleading to customers that are unfamiliar with the standards of premium classes.

      @@kentuckiansabroad As a regular user of First and Business class I accept the truism that you get what you pay for. I have experienced a broad range of difference among airlines' First and Business facilities. Avianca is actually providing a legitimate business class option. Your trip included a personal seating pod, a flat bed sleeping space with bedding, a dedicated staff, dining and drink service, a personal entertainment system, etc. Those things all cost money. It may not be silk sheets and an on-board shower, but you got what you paid for, and I suspect those traveling in Economy would have happily changed places with you.

      What is your real point here? You said my criticism was unreasonable, but it’s not unreasonable at all. You just clarified that Avianca does offer a true business class.
      And my criticism was that Avianca’s business class service is not as good as many airlines in the industry that offer a business class product.
      So what is unreasonable about the criticism? Is it okay for Avianca to have terrible business class customer service because they charge less for their tickets than Qatar Airways or United Airlines?
      The answer is absolutely, no, it’s not okay to have terrible customer service in any business or first class product no matter the ticket price. It’s misleading customers and it’s poor quality from an airline that is sadly a Star Alliance member. 🤦‍♂️
