What a way to turn a dreary week into the start of a good weekend. Thank you all for bringing back MotW! Kelly is always such a master of this genre. Great Easter eggs. Jill and Joe are such experts at role playing, and perfect roles. And a huge welcome back to Mitch, the icing on the cake. What an exciting cliffhanger! The only thing missing was the cliff. See you next week!
I first watched these two episodes about a year ago, and as soon as I finished I went back to the start. Then a couple months later I watched it again. I'm about to run my first game so I've been listening to a big playlist of MotW actual plays and ended up coming back to this one for a 4th watch 'cause I genuinely think this two-shot is the best MotW actual play I've ever found.
So one year ago I decided to do a Monster of the Week one shot for my bday and discovered this amazing series when doing my research (I had been a fan of Dungeon Dudes for 5e content, but didn’t realize they had done a MOTW campaign)! I was kind of bummed it didn’t continue, but cut to today where I was thinking of doing another bday one shot and how happily surprise I was to find this new campaign being posted! Love this group, thanks for the great sessions!
So Curious About Monty's Thesis. What is the field of study???? I'm certain he will Crit Succeed! Best of luck Monty. Try not to run your batteries too low brother!
thank you all for sharing here - so much fun with the characters, story, and blend of adventure, creativity, and comedy all the way . . . eager to see your second part of the story
As someone who recently finished my Ph.D., I wish Monty the best on all the Dissertation work. Lots of respect. Just stay calm and know your own work backward and forward when it comes time for defense, and you'll be good, my friend.
I truly am addicted to these MotW live plays. Excited to watch part 2! I hope you guys continue to run MotW on this channel. It's so much fun the watch.
YAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!! Best week ever! Been waiting for this since you ended the first one and it was worth the wait! Love seein Mitch again and following on their game channel. Thanks for letting the shameless plug happen...heh
I just want to say that I love your MotW videos. I hope this game will break through the roof. I played a couple of rounds myself as keeper and I can’t explain how much I love this system as a guy who‘s all into story, find and improvising. Keep up the great work 👍😎
Mister Windermere and Charlotte are utterly amazing, calling to mind, for those familiar with the IP, Avatar's Varrick and Zhu Li; I adored their dynamic immediately.
Spoilers for the players, don't look at this! . . . . Kelly tried SO hard to give them clues about the fire. I don't know if the players were just pretending to ignore that bit, but it was nonetheless hilarious to see them dismissing that last bit of crucial advice, lol.
In the most non creepy way possible… can Mitch be my best friend? Maybe you can just loan him out for like a month or two? Haha you guys are awesome so happy to see MotW back in action, this squad is the best!
I now have a plan for an Eloquence Bard based on Mr. Windemier that isn't actually charismatic, just too kind hearted and innocent for people to have the heart to disagree with him
Are there Rangers in Northern Ontario? Does this imply they are near a provincial park? Or would it be the OPP or the RCMP? I'm asking as a New Canadian who might need to know this for TTRPG purposes.
I am glad they are doing more MotW and I hope that maybe they will try out more Powered by the Apocalypse, also called ApoEngine, games ;) They are simple and fun.
This game looks like an absolute blast! I've always wanted try a non dnd Role-playing game for a 1shot and I think this is exactly what I'm looking for! Well ran my man fun DMing skills If I may ask, what system is this?
The system is called Monster of the Week. It’s a 2d6 “powered by the apocalypse” system. Much more rules light. Focus on role play and story with simple rolling mechanics to see if players desired actions fail, succeed, or succeed with a consequence. The games core themes are inspired from episodic horror tv series like X-files, Buffy, Supernatural, or other such shows.
This is using Monster of the Week. It’s a powered by the apocalypse system. Our regular stream is D&D but occasionally Kelly runs a few Monster of the Week episodes.
😂 there's nothing funnier than when a GM is trying to impart important info to the players via npc dialogue and the players are like ok whatever byeeee
Oh wow I've clearly not seen every Dungeon Dudes ep, didn't realize Monty was in school. Are the Dungeon Dudes younger than I thought or did Monty go back to school? I would have guessed mid 30's but hopefully thats not far off lol not trying to be insulting or anything. Great session though Kelly!
30:04 "We must make sure those kids are ok. They need to give a good review on my Airbnb."
Joe showing us once again he is walking comedy gold.
This is my vote for a t-shirt
Both Kelly and Monty rule as DMs. Wish we had more Monster of the Week.

Oh my god it’s back! Thought this would never happen. Great to see Mitch again!
You can see Mitch every Monday on twitch on QuarterLifeGaming at 8pm est.

Gill's cosplay is great as usual.
1:50:16 BRUUUUCE! 😻
Kelly does a great job with the NPCs, and the PCs are a fun and engaged group.
Joe is slowly turning into the prime suspect in a Scooby-Doo episode
When Kelly said "your phone rings" my phone rang and I jumped about a foot, lol. 😅
Awesome to finally have Monster of the Week back with Kelly at the helm and the OG team!! 🥳
Fun new characters too. 👍
So Curious About Monty's Thesis. What is the field of study????

Best of luck Monty. Try not to run your batteries too low brother!
I seem to remember he's working on an MFA, probably in Drama, and specializing in theatrical lighting.
I believe he’s studying media production or something of the sorts

I love this as a Halloween mood setter. I love the content ya'll make, and hope There's more Monster of the week to come. Much love from Norway
Using their imaginations to escape to the fantastical land of... northern Ontario...
Oh Man! Thank you for bringing this game again, i really enjoyed the last one
Good ole Mitch. Loved the iconic fighter in The Pale Man
Better than the movie Antlers tbhq. Great work!
Also, I love Joe's character. He's always got great humor.
Omg, I wish Jill was my neighborhood Posty! I would order pork chops constantly 🤣
I'm so excited that Monster of the Week is back!!
As someone that lives in Northern Ontario, I feel represented. And I have a feeling that I know which town inspired Pineridge ;)
As always, a fun time! Well played and I hope to see more!

My 14 and 11 yr old are watching this and thoroughly enjoying. Laughing. Excited... All the emotions
Mister Windermere and Charlotte are utterly amazing, calling to mind, for those familiar with the IP, Avatar's Varrick and Zhu Li; I adored their dynamic immediately.
I love Monster of the Week!
The Pine name. Old logger town. Jill in Wendy's hat. Mysterious happenings. Give us gruncle Stan and we've got gravity falls!
Y'all have great chemistry. I came looking for an idea of how the game was played and I've watched 5 videos now. Thank you! I hope you continue!
I Needs MOAR of dis!!
Superbly good, communal narrative storytelling at its best. I love the way the NPCs just die horribly.
Wow! This was so much fun to watch! Great job all around.
Hell yeah! Just binged your MoTW episodes, so glad you have a new one running
This is going to be great as always!
Loving this. Particularly loving the Mail Elf.
Always excited to see some great d&d. God luck Monty!
We gonna ignore Joe looking like an absolute snack with the beard or is that just me??
Yes, yes we are. (But yeah, the beard looks good)
Hell yeah. I've been meaning to quietly suggest you do this once the dust settles on drakkenheim.
You guys and lady are excellent! Listening to your game is a real pleasure. 👍👍
They're in the library & in my head i kept screaming 'THE MICROFICHE! THE MICROFICHE!'
This is so wholesome and Canadian, I love it.
Omfg!!! A new monster of the week!!! Thanks for posting!
What irony! I live in Pine Ridge, South Carolina, and it's snowing here. xD
Conway too
Nicely done everyone
As soon as Kelly mentioned antlers I said "Oh shoot, this isn't a werewolf, it's a Wendigo!"
Yeah, I was thinking it may be a Wendigo, but I wasn’t entirely sure until Joe’s character opened the book to the Wendigo page.
I freaking love you guys, great content.
I'd love a monster of the week t-shirt!! I've been playing with my friends for a while and I'm loving this game
I love that I was able to call this monster by listening to the description based on my knowledge of Supernatural.
Fuckin love it when you guys play MOTW
This is fantastic.
I love MotW and have missed Mitch!
You can watch Mitch on Twitch every Monday at 8pm est on the QuarterLifeGaming channel.
“You’ve earned a raise! Take the rest of this bottle.”
MoTW :) Yay, have been waiting a long time for this to return.
Omg I missed this in my feed! Wahoooooo!
Look at these cuties doing a continuation to a favorite little series!
New to the series but loving it.
"I search bad teeth/eating people/tree-tops"
"The search result comes up pictures of meth-heads"

I swear I will never watch your monster of the week at nights... I can't freaking sleep men😭
400K!! Woot woot!
I got to watch the first hour live!
Jill and joe

When assigning tomorrows weather to dice in D&D try using a severity die and keeping a higher population of fair weather.

Videos good also Kelly your the man
Canada Postie in the game!
Love the show. What streaming software do you use?
Spoilers for the players, don't look at this!

Will Mitch become a psychic, soul dealing, creature of magic this time?the Double double and timbits got me guys, nice one.
Kelly, is this available anywhere to buy? You did a fantastic job and I am loving the story so far and would love to run it for my group.
I now have a plan for an Eloquence Bard based on Mr. Windemier that isn't actually charismatic, just too kind hearted and innocent for people to have the heart to disagree with him
No more easy winds or downy flakes for our heroes.
I love Jill. What else can I say? 😀
I challenge you to a duel!
@@yeahnaaa292 I accept, sir! Choose your weapon!
@@vladimiregorov8382 👍
Kelly is arguably the best person in the world to run motw
Are there Rangers in Northern Ontario? Does this imply they are near a provincial park? Or would it be the OPP or the RCMP? I'm asking as a New Canadian who might need to know this for TTRPG purposes.
Oh yeah I remember enjoyed this
Very fun :)
"I haven't got that thing running in *'checks watch' three years"
I now see why you were the hat and its awesome.

So...when does Kyle get to be a guest star?
Awesome! I wanna know about Monty’s thesis!!! What’s it about?
If y’all put up a Wendigo shirt I’m going to buy it super fast.
I shudder to think about what Canadians call a cold front. XD lol (I live in Texas.)
Do we have a approximate date for s.o.d's return?
I think they've said that it's a new season called the Fate of Drakkenheim when it comes back.
Season 3, Fate of Drakkenheim is slated to return on February 8th
@@DungeonDudes thank you!
Ranger Roger is straight out of Fargo
Yup yup
Oh my gosh I know what the monster is! My favorite!
*spoilers maybe*
Is it a Wendigo!?
Yep. It’s a Wendigo lol.
Kelly, when can I buy this scenario on DriveThreRPG?
Until Dawn vibes was what I was getting at the beginning
Anyone else immediately realize what the monster was when Keef/Mitch first saw it?
Someone who is new to this, what rp system are they using?
This is using Monster of the Week. It’s a powered by the apocalypse system.
Our regular stream is D&D but occasionally Kelly runs a few Monster of the Week episodes.

Well people of any age can work towards a doctorate degree.
So it's only the cute DM in this one.
They're all cute in their very particular ways.
