I'm Stephanie Sugarman's biggest fan. She is so hilarious, I die laughing every time she does the "Let me get ON IT!!" line.. Her personality was awesome, I do remember seeing her do some commentary on the Rewind reruns.

Simon knows how to make the show watchable. After he left, I couldn't watch American Idol, anymore. Steven Tyler could not do the same as Simon. I auditioned once, but Simon said No but I didn't hate him for it.
God I LOVE old Simon! This is the way American Idol should be. A brutally honest judge and no one "booing" them for their opinion. The judges were so much more selective on who they send through - they even turned away a lot of good singers. The judges got SOFT in later seasons. AI has been reduced to a cheesefest now, soft judges, and way too much comedic element.
Obviously since this was the first season, the standard was somewhat lower. But it was much more entertaining back then. Now everything seems from the judges, to the auditions seems just blahh.
It seems like it was funnier because it felt like real auditions. The new seasons just feel prepared with a script to follow. Not to sound like a cynic. lol
Frankly, it's not that they're "staged" necessarily. It's more like the American Idol judges are prepared with certain quips, and the contestants are let in for how interesting they are. (There's a pre screening process they do before the main auditions happen about 2-3 months later) It's been that way for a while. That's how fucks like Bikini Girl got let into the auditions. She wasn't a good enough singer, that's for sure. She was just weird enough to make the auditions interesting. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, it's just the way it is.

His face looks like soft plastic was poured into a pie pan and then hardened in the (somewhat) shape of a human face. It is truly hideous! His face is round and he no longer has the ability to show facial emotion. Simon obviously received some bad advice about getting plastic surgery or botox... YIKES!!!
