I caught a few hands from my sister when I told her her voice was annoying me. But I mean, I gave her constructive criticism too, like how she could improve in a way that wasn't so grating. Then she got better, she has an adorable voice now.

Like parents buying their kids a car because they passed history class. Most people pass school. It's normal.

So when you go to these auditions, there are a few different rounds you have to make it through before you get to the main judges. So these people are being told they've made it through these rounds. What you see here isn't round 1, it's like round 4. That's why they seem so surprised they're being told they're no good. They're being sent through on purpose for comic relief. It makes for good TV.
Their kids end up with broken self esteem… If my child likes singing I’ll let them sing, but I won’t boast or offer opportunities if they just can’t make it out in the world of singing
I mean you can teach them to appreciate their own efforts and interests even if they lack the talent so even though the bar is set really high in the world you can still have a healthy sense of self esteem.
That’s because before they sing in front of the judges, there’s other people judging them and telling them they’re good, just so they can go into the audition hopeful and confident to get laughed at by the judges and everyone else
I mean, you guys say it’s because the world is soft now, but I look at it as a safety precaution. You can’t tell me you don’t see potential murderers in some of these people, especially when they’re being laughed at like that. Some of them look like they’re right on the edge.

I know how some of those who auditioned feel. When I was in my 20's, I has been in similar situations during talent contests and thought I could sing and had a chance at winning. I never even placed in the top 20 out of 30 contestants. I thought I was an excellent singer with a beautiful voice, as some of my cousins and Father once told me. Thought being the key word. Talk about public humiliation, My Sister, who was the bride back in September 1995 cut me off in front of all her friends and family before I was halfway through singing her wedding song she pressured me to sing for months. Not only that, it was videotaped and she put it on her Facebook page 15 years later. Now all her friends know what a mediocre singer I am and how awful I sang her wedding song, sounding off key.

I know how some of those who auditioned feel. When I was in my 20's, I has been in similar situations during talent contests and thought I could sing and had a chance at winning. I never even placed in the top 20 out of 30 contestants. I thought I was an excellent singer with a beautiful voice, as some of my cousins and Father once told me. Thought being the key word. Talk about public humiliation, My Sister, who was the bride back in September 1995 cut me off in front of all her friends and family before I was halfway through singing her wedding song she pressured me to sing for months. Not only that, it was videotaped and she put it on her Facebook page 15 years later. Now all her friends know what a mediocre singer I am and how awful I sang her wedding song, sounding off key.
Then perhaps you should have voice recordered it and listened to yourself before making a public performance.

Nah, it was all staged. You have to make it through a series of auditions before making it to this level so she and her mom know they're there for entertainment.
