  • Changing clothes in my RV (Winnebago View J model) can be a bit of a challenge without pulling all the shades and window blinds closed. There is no separate dressing area. Sometimes I just need to change into some cooler clothes and don't want to re position all 7 shades. So, I made my own quick and easy room divider.

I love it when someone's else's plan comes together and a whole bunch of us out there can make it happen without the trouble. I'm ripping out those ridge accordion sliders and putting in a rod and shower curtain blocking off the entrance to the back of the RV. Thanks for sharing that great idea. Regards, ~~ Karen Calypte

The Remi blinds seemed like a good idea, but are getting to be a pain to keep unfurling and then stowing. Might try something different for the front that is better insulated.

Well done. The J definitely needs a curtain there and you showed how to do it. Thanks Ron

As always great information and very entertaining. We use tension rods a lot. I have never seen the large white caps to help protect the wall, so thanks I will be ordering some today.

Hi Ron, Mark again, love your videos, very informative. You may recall we are considering the V floorplan as our preferred due to a separate bedroom. After seeing this video I have another question about the J. Do you think a more substantial solution then a curtain, like a sliding door set (as in a closet door) could be installed in that spot? We'd like something there that could provide some sound deadening. It appears that the doors would have to be pretty thin though, probably less than 3/4 inch, to fit.
Edit: BTW, I just noticed that your J has a cabinet door covering the gear above the fridge, they dropped that door on the new ones.

I would suspect that folding doors would be a pain to install and secure while moving. The slide is in the way. Not quite as good but we use a white noise generator over the bed. The space ubder the bed is pretty large but an odd shape. It is also not ventilated.

Hi Ron....new follower to your channel....love your videos. New RV'er and I am shortening my list down to the Winnebago View, the Travel Leisure Unity and the Airstream Atlas. The shower is a big concern for me on all 3 of them. Do you have any ideas or thoughts on installing an extend-a-shower rod in the View's shower to get a bit more space? I am leaning towards the Winnebago View and YOUR channel with all of it's great info has helped me decide!!!! Any thoughts or information by you and/or your followers would be appreciated! Thanks!

I find the shower in the J model just ok. I’m about 6’ and 185lbs. Not sure if any other floor plans are any better. You might be able to get a curved shower rod but need to be careful the water all drains back into the basin area. I was also interested in the unity brand but the wait time was 6 months. Take your time deciding as none of them are perfect. We changed from wanting a V unit to the J at the last minute because my wife didn’t like the high microwave location in the V.

I like your introduction ،I see the conservative people "now" are the normal people living like humans! 😁
About the curtain, let it go to the left side when no use for it .
    Good luck.

Hi Ron, we love your videos and particularly your off beat sense of humor. I noticed that you have an indoor/outdoor temp gauge. Where do u place the outdoor sensor and how is the accuracy?

WonderBike I put it in the outside bay with the water valves. It seems to be accurate with 2-3 degrees.

Another awesome idea Ron! I have the exact same unit as yours and always said to my wife that there should be a curtain there. Is there any chance you could give me any info on the curtain rod and the white end cap that you used. I don't have access to my RV right now but would like to get the rod before my next trip next week. Thanks!

Nice addition Ron! Also, when you’re trying to cool or heat the coach quickly, pulling that drape will help with that process as well. I have the 2020 Tiffin Wayfarer TW I’m (over the moon in love with it). I’ve added over cab bunk curtain/track system well Tiffin added it during the build. I added a tension rod that fits perfectly under the overhead bunk mattress and added the matching drape that just pulls closed. Two ways to use it is you can close it while covering the two captain seats or you can lay this rod across the storage compartments that’s over the visors. Then pull the curtain closed which you can have your seats turned around then the curtain is behind the seats and you have just blocked off that whole front window area. That’s blocking off even more of that huge window even though of course I use the insulated window coverings. I will never be without these curtains now. They are actually high quality RV curtains, so they match the decor and walls beautifully! I’m downsizing from a new A Class. I will never own another Class A. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge and adventures with us. Always stay safe...
