Nice tutorial! I'm a regular follower of your posting since I have a 2006 BMW 523IA, N52B25 which i perform all the repair and maintenance on myself. Are you pleased with Febi Bilstein suspension components? Myself have experience with Lemforder and Meyle HD, which both are good manufacturers.
George how much were your replacements ? I've got some movement on my nearside on my 520d touring msport can feel it under braking now for especially at traffic lights ect. Mike, Liverpool. 👍
Hello George, good video. When I changed a few control arms I did not put the wheels back on for the tightening. I jacked the hub up under the spindle. Maybe it wasn't completely correct but felt that I got it tightened in the ballpark for the height.
George, are our cars siblings? Literally I was planning on doing a full tune up right before you posted the ignition coils video. Next thing on my list was the front control arms, and here you are again posting a video! I cannot thank you for this 760Li content. Your videos are very resourceful and It takes the headache out from owning these beautiful machines.
These arms are made by TRW on e9x M cars, so I suspect that is the same on the rest of BMW’s early double wishbone cars. The TRW parts just have the bmw and or M logos ground off
George another problem I have is my climate control display is working as in it all Illuminates but the blower is doing nothing... I haven't had a chance to look at it yet tho.
Awesome video AGAIN George! BUT you've got me little worried now as I'm replacing all the front arms on my E90 lci 320d with MEYLE AND ALL the rear arms with a company called Vaico. They both come as kits that's why I bought them but just hope and pray they are of good quality and not a waste of money.
@@GeorgeAusters Thanks for the reply George keep up your hard work I can imagine it's twice the work doing it all on the floor. Hats off to you mate you're an inspiration!
Dint think I’m taking the mick I Realy love the vids but where you get the gloves from my black ones always rip I need to do this job skso Realy soon as I had an advisory on it this will help me. Thanks George 👍
Wow, I just got this done on the 750li with 126k miles, I would absolutely agree & recommend them replaced as well. Great video! Thank you!
Yes when hitting the brakes you will get movement or a little shake. I also checked rotors brake pads, and the control arm bushings were worn.
Improvise, adapt and overcome. Well said and words to live by!
Another good one, thanks George. Doing this on a 2013 750iX (F01), a few extra components in the Lemforder kit but shouldn't be too bad.
Another great video, I'm having the arms and anti roll bar bushes done on Tuesday on my 2003 730d.

I do the same. Measure distance from top of wheel arch to middle of wheel (i.e. centre of hub). Then jack up to that distance for tightening.

I believe TRW make the M parts but lemforder make the regular ones
Worthwhile repair.
Not sure if that balljoint would have past the MOT with a boot like that?
I think it passed the previous MOT like that lol.. Must have been hard to see!
Any updates on the e46 really wanna see what fixes it

Could be blower motor

Vaico are generally pretty good

Have a look in my description, are they linked there?
What software are you using? and where to found it?
Great work!
Curious if the knocking noise on the passenger side went away after this??
No it didn’t
@@GeorgeAusters Sad! My 06 750Li is making the same noise in exactly the same spot
mark the nuts with a marker, far less guessing in the degrees!
No need to guess the degrees. Mark the nut and 90 degrees clockwise.
George do you watch M539 Restoration I'm sure you do but if not great advice for bmw
Yeah I’ve watched him for years👍🏻
lol I 've never owned a bmw with under 100k, usually get them right around 140 when everything falls apart lol
Don’t forget to get your alignment done now
Yep I have done!
On a BMW the indicator bulbs only need replacing at 200,000 miles as they will be unused
😂
What's happening with your mini , as I've been enjoying the progress on it
Currently rebuilding the engine on it… Video to come soon👍🏻
Good I'm glad to hear there will be a new video soon
where did you get ista?
watching that plastic ramp buckle in under the weight of the car was scary. main reason i dont use that junk.
It’s not buckling, it’s just sliding out because it’s on a relatively smooth surface.. They’re rated to 6T
everything is usually fucked on a bm past warranty.
Maybe it's time for a quicklift ;)
It would be nice!
