Fantastic! I now know how to fix it (my wrecked suspension, that is ). Thanks so much for your clear instruction and for being so articulate and likeable!
Thanks for the video and explanation. My problem was not with the bushing end but the ball joint. It had me searching all over until one day I decided to put some grease in the boot with my grease needle. Of course I sealed the boot with RTV . It lasted about 3 months with the bad roads we have in Louisiana. I still went ahead and ordered one. They got us by not installing grease fittings.
Yeah that's another weak point in the suspension on all German cars and unfortunately it's not in their interest to build components that will last forever otherwise they'll go broke 😁 Thanks for watching and glad you got it sorted.
This got rid of the clunking sound from my front passenger side. I also changed the sway bar link.. 2017 BMW X5 XDrive.. followed the instructions and got it done in 1.5 hours. The car was pulling to the right and left when i went over 65mph. This repair also solved that issue
This video shows what FCPEuro calls the tension strut. Did you also replace the control arm just behind the arm in the video? I believe they both contain ball joints, so I'd assume it's beneficial to change both.
Hey, make sure to check out my other BMW suspension repair videos and don't forget to subscribe to my channel for more. Thank you for the support.
Great video, I'm glad I finally found someone on here that knows what they're talking when working on these X5's.

Great video. Did your front airbags dash came on after this?
No. Why would the airbag light come on?

I only replaced the control arms shown in the video since the bushings and ball joints in the other suspension components on my vehicle were fine.
Very good video thnx.
awesome! helped a lot keep it up!

torque specs?
Unfortunately I don't have the torque spec, I just did it by feel and made sure it's tight as possible.
