This truly was the best and easiest way to sideload an app. I tried a couple of file explorers hoping to use USB, but that did not work, they either wanted money or they had ads or did not support USB transfers. the google drive was definitely the way to go!

In Serbia we have a ISP called SBB , and they provide EON TV smart boxes , they apparently locked Netflix and other streaming services so they can profit and that sucks. How do you remove a program that has been installed through the sideload method? The program I have sideloaded appears in the Play Store but there the uninstall button is missing. Do you install the application directory?

When i open the apk file i get : this file has been identified as malware or spam and cannot be downloaded
Which app is that? If you are sure for an app that is not malware you can check it there is an antivirus or Google play protect enabled
When I want to install popcorn time or vavoo mod etc, is the app showing in the normal app launcher of the Phillips android TV or it will only show in the sideload launcher? And popcorn time folder I can choose the download location on a hard disk because the TV hard drive is getting full otherwise.

some apps that are pre-installed by the manufacter unfortunately cannot be uninstalled. If they do, then you should be able by going into settings, apps, select the app, uninstall. I

I tried this just now cuz it seems to be the easiest method but the apk app im trying to copy into my android box appear as "cant uninstalled app" huhu
Chrome app wouldn't instal after being shared via apk. I had allowed apps from external devices. I'm dissapointed mi box s doesn't support 'proper' google play unlike tv boxes sold at half the price. I bought it to watch a tv app available on google play on a big screen. It's useless for me without this facility.

samsung smart tvs don't use android OS, they have their own TV OS and no you can't sideload apps on samsung tvs.

May i consult further, i received a prompt after trying to run the app that the app cannot be download bec it has been identified as malware or spam or invalid credentials. The app is the apk of my family Cinema (streaming service). I also disabled unknown sources. Any suggestions would be most welcome. Cheers
That is normal but make sure you trust the source you've found the app and the developer
