It's a Clover Chaco Liner (powdered chalk that is dispensed by a serrated wheel). They're sold in most fabric and quilt stores. You can also get them from Amazon. I've used them for years.
Jeanne - where did you get your 1" grid stencil? I've been to several online sites and can't find them. Found a couple that have the hash marks, but not a Full Line one like you suggest. Help!
You could take a heavy duty machine needle without thread and stitch a grid on a piece of heavy paper. Use that for your stencil. Best part - it's FREE!

DO you ever use dry silicone spray on your table surface rather than the Supreme Slider?
I have and often I quilt without the benefit of anything but I think it's because I've been doing it so long...
