I bought the TH80 from this video's recommendation. It's insanely good value and I can't find any keyboards that beat it. I considered getting a keychron board, but they don't have wireless. I actually also bought a skyloong GK75 and it was trash in comparison, so I'm returning it. Overall, this guy knows what he's talking about. Great video!

And i'm glad to hear you talk about all the pros and cons of the more expensive boards compared to some of the budgets, honestly quite shocking contrast for some of them! I literally just got my epomaker th80 yesterday and as my first hot-swappable mechanical keyboard, I am very happy with it! Out of the box it just feels so nice and solid and with the monet version, already quite pretty. I definitely will be going down the linear switch route though, the budgerigar switches it came with dont sound horrible but aren't for me personally. I'm curious what will become of this board for me as time goes on, but very very happy with my choice!
I am waiting for mine to arrive too.. I'm soo excited. I got the Theory version of the TH80 but I will definitely be buying some new keycaps soon. I also got the Epomaker Flamingo switches, I think they might be lovely as I've seen some good reviews about them. I wanted to get the Monet for the pastel keycaps but I like the knob of the Theory more and I'm thinking I could probably paint it a different color sometime. I was thinking of getting pudding keycaps in a soft lilac or purple color. Anyhoo, hope you are still enjoying your keyboard ♥

I have the Keychron Q1 and it's amazing. The absolute best way to completely eliminate the ping is with the Force Break Mod. I used two layers of Gaffers Tape in between the two housings. Small 2-layer pieces of tape around the entire border sandwiched in-between both the top and bottom housing. Completely removed the ping for my Q1. I also removed all case foam. Only the plate foam remains.
You eliminate ping with keyboard? Very funny you are. Also, its better to improve own reflex than input lags and delays of electronics. Human reaction time can be as slow as 10000 ms, improving that will have massive advantage.

Bought my Keychron Q1 v1 on Candykeys myself and I never regretted it , also since I soldered an rotary encoder to the board and flashed the firmware to have a knob makes it even more loveable

For me, the best premium 75% are 7v by GOK and Jelly Epoch by Owlabs. There are a lot more premium 75 layouts out there if you enter the rabbit hole. Great content bro! Keep it up! Subbed!

Awesome list of the 75% keyboards out there. I have the NJ80 and I think it's an awesome one to add on this list as well. South facing with blue tooth and 2.4 ghz and there is a knob. The only downside is that it is a plastic board.

@@ellox yh thats true, I have the keyboard and it changes everytime I use ctrl*backspace. You get used to it pretty fast, and it is still, in my opinion, one of the greatest budget boards out there.
Yeah ill be honest the keyboards that they sell at like best buy and all that are literally criminal compared to what you can buy online. I just got the Epomaker TH80 in the mail today with the pro yellow switches and im blown away with how good this really is.
My friend had the TH80 and when I came by his house(I am 12 and this was in the holidays btw) it sounds nuts, idk if it's the switches or something but it's insane :)
I had been a user of Keychron K2 v2 with Gateron Yellow switches and recently upgraded to Keychron V1 Max with Gateron G Pro 3.0 Yellow switches, I like "silent" and linier switches. As the previous one I have modded the V1 Max and really liking it a lot, for the price I paid. My next keyboard definitely will be the one with mechanical switches, maybe in a year or two. Otherwise, my beloved keyboard typing experience has been those with ThinkPad notebooks (typing and productivity, not gaming of course).

I honestly wish that 96 key keyboard were the norm, with 84 key being the standard for tenkeyless ones. The layout is so much more space efficient that it is absurd we haven't moved towards them years ago. I own 2 membrane keyboards with a layout similar to a 96 key one and I bought the second one purely as backup. When I looked for a mechanical version, all of the 96 key PCBs were not available, so I ended up with an 84 key and became used to not having a numpad.
Just bought an epomaker th80 se, my dumb ass thought it was the same as the th80 and didn’t realize it was north facing led until I received it…All in all, still the best stock keyboard I’ve ever had!

First I started with SteelSeries 7G featuring Cherry MX Black switches that I would still use if I didnt trip over beer into it (used it for 9 years). Now on Fnatic miniStreak with Cherry MX Silent Red I would go for Leopold keyboard next time. Durability on mechanical keyboards is insane - they last like forever (or till you kill them with liquid).
Technically not mechanical, but Niz Micro82 or Micro84 are a good enthusiast level thocky 75% keebs. I got mine for 35th birthday, can't wait to mod. But stock experience is great so far. Just backspace stabs need relubing a bit
The difference with the epomaker th80 is it doesnt come with the foam, brass blate, or gateron milky yellows prelubed. Its probablt still a better deal, but the other board is already decently upgraded out of the box
I like full 100% keyboards as well as TKL. But I usually gear more towards full 100% keyboards. I tried smaller keyboards and I was completely unhappy. The lowest I go is TKL. And my favorite keycaps are the XDA, everything else drives me nuts. (but thats just me) 😂 I can NOT buy a keyboard if it has a south facing LED. Because I have clear legends PBT keycaps and the north facing LEDs are mandatory for me, so I can see the legends clearly.
one thing i don't like about the mod007 v1 or v2 is the typing angle and the front height. for those who tend to sit infront of their monitor for extended period of time might ended up with sore wrist and to fix it is just as simple as getting a wristpad/wrist rest to eliminate that problem in the long run.

@@adiands850 I use it everyday. I really satisfy by the quality of it, and the typing experience is much better than my apple keyboard. By the way, I just sell my apple keyboard, because since I get th80 I never use apple keyboard anymore. But I do not recommend people who want to type wireless, it since have to reconnect a while when you start to type again. I never have this situation while using my wireless apple keyboard ,so I only typing wired with my th80.
I've been looknig for a 75 barebone with the following features in the order of importance: 1) wireless connection (that supports up to 3 device). 2) Hot swap. 3) Knob. 4) Alum. case (optional). Haven't found anything that check off my list yet. (or they are all out of stock).
Hello, I am currently in a dilemma whether buying a pre-built "gaming" keyboard or just build my own custom keyboard. I will be using the keyboard 90% of the time for gaming. Can custom keyboards be as fast as Razer's optical switches at 0.4mm actuation or Apex Pro's Omni 1.0 or 2.0 switches at 0.2mm actuation? Can custom keyboards even be as fast as the typical "gaming" keyboards from gaming brands?

Keychron fixed most of the ping issues with the Q1v2/knob version, so imo it's the best option out there. GMMK Pro sounds way too dead. Unless you want a silent build with silent switches, I'd go with the Q1v2 instead. As for Akko, it's really a shame that it has north facing LEDs, no QMK nor VIA support and comes with plate mount stabs instead of screw-ins like most other boards (though it does support screw in stabs). Besides the 3 cons, the mod007/006 mimics high end boards the most, with flex cuts in the plate and uses the "best" or traditional way of gasket mounting. Really a shame that Akko drop the ball with this one.
@@insanity4086 no, Q1v2 has an exploded 75% layout whereas the Q2 has an exploded 65% layout. The knob version of the Q1 also has the force break mod built into it

I actually don't miss the ISO layout at all. I'm using EurKey btw, which is excellent. So for ä, ö, ü on I just have to press right alt + a, o, u. Works perfectly fine. For many things the ANSI layout just makes more sense, like programming or shortcuts. Crtl + z for instance makes so much more sense with a Qwerty layout.
@@techlessYT Oh my god, thanks to your comment I've been trying out EurKey for a few days and it's been a revelation ♡ - I love my ANSI layout to bits, but for translating to and from German it can be cumbersome. This made it so much better!
Thanks! No latency issues in wired mode with any of those keyboards. 2.4 GHz on the TH80 also doesn't add any noticable latency. Didn't test Bluetooth though.
Theres even a “premium” “budget” plateless 75 percent board called the hex4b which costs $216 which I think is able to compete with the $170 keyboards in this comparison.
@@kuyt20 its much better but this is a budget division so he shouldve brought up the $210 hex 4b. Sadly it wasnt brought up and its a lot more premium than these keyboards that were mentioned. Its plateless, alu, has a really nice design and the sound and feel is just miles better.
Hello :D 1. I don't mind taking up some deskspace, but ifg I'm gonna bring it around I would like a more compact size like 75%. 2. I used to come from a membrane keyboard and ditched it 2 months ago, so I'm trying to find a good, hotswap, compact, good sounding keyboard. 3. I only have 70 bucks to spend. The keychron keyboards are in my top recommendations if you have a tight budget like me and just getting into this very expensive hobby. I like default keycaps, like keycaps that is clear, no random texts that I won't understand like Ascend replacing Enter, because I'm used to it. Wishes I would like you to make videos of very budget hotswap keyboards, like the Royal Kludge RK84 or the Keychron K2 V2. I think newbies like me who are just getting into this hobby would like a chill, non-expensive but premium, easy to mod, and preferable shaped keyboard. If anyone agrees please let me know by replying lol
I was in a similar spot but I was looking for 65%. One thing I didn't like about the RK series was that they used knockoff switches, although they're still okay and you can always swap switches down the line. Epomaker also makes some good keyboards, look out for sales. If you have extra money, look into a cheap lubing and switch opening kit, also look into cheap mods like tape mod/foam mod. 70 isn't a lot in this hobby though, if you can save for more then do that, if not just spend the 70 and upgrade keycaps down the line
@@JulienJeagal Sorry I just replied so late, but I got a higher budget and trying to go for an Akko PC75B plus prebuilt. In my country it is Rp 1,490,000 aka $100 for the US, taking about a few weeks to save up pocket money given my my mom about $10 per week. I know it took about months. But at least I made some money helping my cousins and friends who had the same thought of getting absurdly expensive keyboards jus tlike my cousin with a GMMK pro, made some bucks with that I guess. I got the idea from Consumer Tech Review and it looks good prebuilt and with some good quality switches. Being roughly $100 it's really good, and has an exploded 75% layout which looks and feels clean to me after trying my cousin's GMMK pro. My mom and dad will borrow my keyboard from time to time when they need it for something so I thought of a bluetooth and USB dongel keyboard that can also be wired if I plan to get a coiled cable, and the color scheme could really match my setup a lot despite using my cousin's white GMMK pro that really stood out of my setup in a bad way aesthetically. I'm a 12 year old btw and my setup cost of my mouse + keyboard + deskmat = $150. I'm happy with not having rgb but I can tolerate a little bit. And what keyboard do you have? RK series looks cheap now after trying out a GMMK pro, and Epomaker TH80 which is the best for me, but I don't think I like the color scheme. Other epomaker 75% are quite expensive and I still need those keycaps and switches. Maybe wait till I have $120 then I'll lube my switches but I'm tired of membrane now lol Istg if I can write essays like this I could have gotten 2 keyboards from my mom lol
@@JulienJeagal I think the akko PC75B plus covered me a lot by sound and looks being black on white keycaps and black case and stuff. The akko cs jelly pinks aren't that bad and I think spending time on making my switches sound better is for worth it, but I might get more into the hobby and get some GMK keycaps but not now yet especially with such clean keycaps for a prebuilt :)
@@wil- no worries, I'm glad you could save up and get a higher quality one! I got the epomaker sk64 when it was on sale, which is really compact and comes with gateron optical yellows. Some quick things I did to improve: Lubing switches- works well and improved the sound and feel, if you are going to lube though look for an all in one kit with keycap puller, switch opener, lube and brush as it saves some money. Tape mod- really cheap to get masking tape (you might also have painters tape if you know any painters or construction workers) and improved the sound a lot Holee mod- definitely improved my stabilizers but it was very difficult, I would recommend trying it on one key and see if you like the difference. Then you can see if the effort is worth it Coil- not really a mod but my keyboard came with a braided cable, there are videos online on how to use a hairdryer to coil a braided cable or cover a regular cable with paracord. It's cheaper than buying a cable but it's a bit dangerous: careful not to point the heat at yourself and don't touch the hairdryer metal to the usb C plug, let the cable cool down, etc

I hate doing a holee mod, my friend who paid me money to build him a custom and with all mods that I know, and I hated doing it, but compared to stock, it's really good... but I got some durock stabs and just lubed it with dielectric grease and thicc krytox 205g0, it is almost the same as the holee mod, and I combined the two and made something sounding damn smooth.. And I decided to save up just a bit more budget for krytox lubed gateron box ink black v2s.. Is it worth it though? Or do I just use something cheaper? I don't know. I also didn't want to lube my switches, because it costs a ton, but I think it'sd worth it, I don't know if I should film it though.... The epomaker SK64 is quite clean, and you should be quite proud owning one. I personally don't quite like opticals, but they sound clean too and I respect it. I do enjoy the sound with lubed optical yellows, they sound quite great and clean, and I'm thinking of recommending it to my friend. But I've been thinking, because I found some custom kits for about -$30, like the CIY tester 68 or the CIY tester 84. It's really cheap and I've been thinking if I did the right choice buying the Akko PC75B plus... I want to try out the gateron optical yellows soon on my friends' boards and I'd like to give my thoughts on it! :D
The PCB is a hit or miss on the AKKO and they have a s-l-o-w to respond / fix warranty department. Also AKKO has their own "Cloud" software which quite frankly, I don't really trust and is nowhere near as good as VIA. In stark contrast, Keychron not only uses the standard VIA but their warranty department is far more responsive and trustworthy. Keychron offers several different plates and accessories. Keychron is clearly a much better managed company than any other Chinese company that I've run across. For what year describing I would probably recommend Drop's CTRL High Profile. Zeal plate mount stabilizers, StupidFish plate and case foam. Especially if you like RGB around the case. Regarding North versus South facing LEDs, you definitely want North facing LEDs if you have shine through keycaps which you may not use but trust me a lot more people out there not only want them but need them to type. A lot of people are "hunt and peck" type typists. South facing LEDs just literally suck for shine throughs. I have both types and I've never run across any issue, just don't get crappy cheap dye sub as you said you have keycaps. I've never had a problem with OEM styled keycaps, and especially no issues with GMK double shots.
.. forgot to mention, I'm right in the middle of an RMA with AKKO on my 007 V2. The PCB after a firmware update would no longer connect to the crappy cloud app that quite honestly I wouldn't be at all surprised if it was caring and injecting a Trojan on my PC. Quite honestly I don't really trust that company. KBDFans is another company pretty damn close in my opinion to AKKO. The overall feeling of quasi shadiness.
I really love the aesthetics of mechanical keyboards but I hate working with them. For design work it's a lot easier for me to reach shortcuts and navigate with a chiclet keyboard but they lack so much personality.
Are these budget boards better than a hyperx allow origins core? Idc about modding i just want a mechanical keyboard under $120 that wont break within months
i tried to make my q1 keychron sound exactly like yours but i wasn't able too even though i have the same switches but clone keycaps with same discription, did you do aything to your keyboard internally?

Something not always talked about is battery life in wireless mode. The Epomaker TH80 is the best of the bunch with an 8000mh battery

Vortex Tab 75 is still my favorite 75 layout implementation. Man I wish there were more 75 keyboards in the ISO Nordic market

I honestly wish that 96 key keyboard were the norm, with 84 key being the standard for tenkeyless ones.
The layout is so much more space efficient that it is absurd we haven't moved towards them years ago.
I own 2 membrane keyboards with a layout similar to a 96 key one and I bought the second one purely as backup.
When I looked for a mechanical version, all of the 96 key PCBs were not available, so I ended up with an 84 key and became used to not having a numpad.

Just bought an epomaker th80 se, my dumb ass thought it was the same as the th80 and didn’t realize it was north facing led until I received it…All in all, still the best stock keyboard I’ve ever had!
You should've recommend the keychron q1 v2. It's less pingy, but the q1 v1 tends to be on sale a lot more.

First I started with SteelSeries 7G featuring Cherry MX Black switches that I would still use if I didnt trip over beer into it (used it for 9 years). Now on Fnatic miniStreak with Cherry MX Silent Red I would go for Leopold keyboard next time. Durability on mechanical keyboards is insane - they last like forever (or till you kill them with liquid).
Technically not mechanical, but Niz Micro82 or Micro84 are a good enthusiast level thocky 75% keebs. I got mine for 35th birthday, can't wait to mod. But stock experience is great so far. Just backspace stabs need relubing a bit
The difference with the epomaker th80 is it doesnt come with the foam, brass blate, or gateron milky yellows prelubed. Its probablt still a better deal, but the other board is already decently upgraded out of the box

I like full 100% keyboards as well as TKL. But I usually gear more towards full 100% keyboards.
I tried smaller keyboards and I was completely unhappy. The lowest I go is TKL. And my favorite keycaps are the XDA, everything else drives me nuts. (but thats just me) 😂
I can NOT buy a keyboard if it has a south facing LED. Because I have clear legends PBT keycaps and the north facing LEDs are mandatory for me, so I can see the legends clearly.
Interesting, i did not know south face is no good for clear legends, so th80 is a no go for me
one thing i don't like about the mod007 v1 or v2 is the typing angle and the front height. for those who tend to sit infront of their monitor for extended period of time might ended up with sore wrist and to fix it is just as simple as getting a wristpad/wrist rest to eliminate that problem in the long run.

@@adiands850 I use it everyday. I really satisfy by the quality of it, and the typing experience is much better than my apple keyboard. By the way, I just sell my apple keyboard, because since I get th80 I never use apple keyboard anymore. But I do not recommend people who want to type wireless, it since have to reconnect a while when you start to type again. I never have this situation while using my wireless apple keyboard ,so I only typing wired with my th80.

I've been looknig for a 75 barebone with the following features in the order of importance: 1) wireless connection (that supports up to 3 device). 2) Hot swap. 3) Knob. 4) Alum. case (optional). Haven't found anything that check off my list yet. (or they are all out of stock).

Hello, I am currently in a dilemma whether buying a pre-built "gaming" keyboard or just build my own custom keyboard.
I will be using the keyboard 90% of the time for gaming. Can custom keyboards be as fast as Razer's optical switches at 0.4mm actuation or Apex Pro's Omni 1.0 or 2.0 switches at 0.2mm actuation? Can custom keyboards even be as fast as the typical "gaming" keyboards from gaming brands?

Keychron fixed most of the ping issues with the Q1v2/knob version, so imo it's the best option out there.
GMMK Pro sounds way too dead. Unless you want a silent build with silent switches, I'd go with the Q1v2 instead.
As for Akko, it's really a shame that it has north facing LEDs, no QMK nor VIA support and comes with plate mount stabs instead of screw-ins like most other boards (though it does support screw in stabs). Besides the 3 cons, the mod007/006 mimics high end boards the most, with flex cuts in the plate and uses the "best" or traditional way of gasket mounting. Really a shame that Akko drop the ball with this one.
Q1 Ping is easy to remove with a tape force break mod.
Q1 sounds way more dead than GMMK Pro in this video. GMMK Pro has its flaws too but sound-wise, it's thockier than Q1 and MOD 007.

@@insanity4086 no, Q1v2 has an exploded 75% layout whereas the Q2 has an exploded 65% layout. The knob version of the Q1 also has the force break mod built into it

I actually don't miss the ISO layout at all. I'm using EurKey btw, which is excellent. So for ä, ö, ü on I just have to press right alt + a, o, u. Works perfectly fine.
For many things the ANSI layout just makes more sense, like programming or shortcuts. Crtl + z for instance makes so much more sense with a Qwerty layout.
Dell want to lend me the qd oled, but I'm not yet sure when...
Missing f row is a big minus for my workflow. Now i use my 65% at home for games only. A 75% is always more useful.
@@techlessYT Oh my god, thanks to your comment I've been trying out EurKey for a few days and it's been a revelation ♡ - I love my ANSI layout to bits, but for translating to and from German it can be cumbersome. This made it so much better!

Thanks! No latency issues in wired mode with any of those keyboards. 2.4 GHz on the TH80 also doesn't add any noticable latency. Didn't test Bluetooth though.

@@kuyt20 its much better but this is a budget division so he shouldve brought up the $210 hex 4b. Sadly it wasnt brought up and its a lot more premium than these keyboards that were mentioned. Its plateless, alu, has a really nice design and the sound and feel is just miles better.

Do people actually care about compatibility with Cherry profile keycaps? From a RGB lighting perspective North facing is preferable.
Some people care about that, especially GMK fans. I personally can totally live without Cherry Profile keycaps.

1. I don't mind taking up some deskspace, but ifg I'm gonna bring it around I would like a more compact size like 75%.
2. I used to come from a membrane keyboard and ditched it 2 months ago, so I'm trying to find a good, hotswap, compact, good sounding keyboard.
3. I only have 70 bucks to spend. The keychron keyboards are in my top recommendations if you have a tight budget like me and just getting into this very expensive hobby. I like default keycaps, like keycaps that is clear, no random texts that I won't understand like Ascend replacing Enter, because I'm used to it.

I would like you to make videos of very budget hotswap keyboards, like the Royal Kludge RK84 or the Keychron K2 V2. I think newbies like me who are just getting into this hobby would like a chill, non-expensive but premium, easy to mod, and preferable shaped keyboard. I was in a similar spot but I was looking for 65%. One thing I didn't like about the RK series was that they used knockoff switches, although they're still okay and you can always swap switches down the line. Epomaker also makes some good keyboards, look out for sales. If you have extra money, look into a cheap lubing and switch opening kit, also look into cheap mods like tape mod/foam mod.
70 isn't a lot in this hobby though, if you can save for more then do that, if not just spend the 70 and upgrade keycaps down the line
@@JulienJeagal Sorry I just replied so late, but I got a higher budget and trying to go for an Akko PC75B plus prebuilt. In my country it is Rp 1,490,000 aka $100 for the US, taking about a few weeks to save up pocket money given my my mom about $10 per week. I know it took about months. But at least I made some money helping my cousins and friends who had the same thought of getting absurdly expensive keyboards jus tlike my cousin with a GMMK pro, made some bucks with that I guess. I got the idea from Consumer Tech Review and it looks good prebuilt and with some good quality switches. Being roughly $100 it's really good, and has an exploded 75% layout which looks and feels clean to me after trying my cousin's GMMK pro. My mom and dad will borrow my keyboard from time to time when they need it for something so I thought of a bluetooth and USB dongel keyboard that can also be wired if I plan to get a coiled cable, and the color scheme could really match my setup a lot despite using my cousin's white GMMK pro that really stood out of my setup in a bad way aesthetically. I'm a 12 year old btw and my setup cost of my mouse + keyboard + deskmat = $150. I'm happy with not having rgb but I can tolerate a little bit. And what keyboard do you have? RK series looks cheap now after trying out a GMMK pro, and Epomaker TH80 which is the best for me, but I don't think I like the color scheme. Other epomaker 75% are quite expensive and I still need those keycaps and switches. Maybe wait till I have $120 then I'll lube my switches but I'm tired of membrane now lol

@@JulienJeagal I think the akko PC75B plus covered me a lot by sound and looks being black on white keycaps and black case and stuff. The akko cs jelly pinks aren't that bad and I think spending time on making my switches sound better is for worth it, but I might get more into the hobby and get some GMK keycaps but not now yet especially with such clean keycaps for a prebuilt :)
@@wil- no worries, I'm glad you could save up and get a higher quality one! I got the epomaker sk64 when it was on sale, which is really compact and comes with gateron optical yellows. Some quick things I did to improve:
Lubing switches- works well and improved the sound and feel, if you are going to lube though look for an all in one kit with keycap puller, switch opener, lube and brush as it saves some money.
Tape mod- really cheap to get masking tape (you might also have painters tape if you know any painters or construction workers) and improved the sound a lot
Holee mod- definitely improved my stabilizers but it was very difficult, I would recommend trying it on one key and see if you like the difference. Then you can see if the effort is worth it
Coil- not really a mod but my keyboard came with a braided cable, there are videos online on how to use a hairdryer to coil a braided cable or cover a regular cable with paracord. It's cheaper than buying a cable but it's a bit dangerous: careful not to point the heat at yourself and don't touch the hairdryer metal to the usb C plug, let the cable cool down, etc

I hate doing a holee mod, my friend who paid me money to build him a custom and with all mods that I know, and I hated doing it, but compared to stock, it's really good... but I got some durock stabs and just lubed it with dielectric grease and thicc krytox 205g0, it is almost the same as the holee mod, and I combined the two and made something sounding damn smooth.. And I decided to save up just a bit more budget for krytox lubed gateron box ink black v2s.. Is it worth it though? Or do I just use something cheaper? I don't know. I also didn't want to lube my switches, because it costs a ton, but I think it'sd worth it, I don't know if I should film it though....
The epomaker SK64 is quite clean, and you should be quite proud owning one. I personally don't quite like opticals, but they sound clean too and I respect it. I do enjoy the sound with lubed optical yellows, they sound quite great and clean, and I'm thinking of recommending it to my friend. But I've been thinking, because I found some custom kits for about -$30, like the CIY tester 68 or the CIY tester 84. It's really cheap and I've been thinking if I did the right choice buying the Akko PC75B plus...

sehr gutes Video! Würde dir bloß empfehlen weniger "wenn du mich fragst" nutzen. Das ist mehr so ein Ding im deutschen Sprachraum.
The PCB is a hit or miss on the AKKO and they have a s-l-o-w to respond / fix warranty department. Also AKKO has their own "Cloud" software which quite frankly, I don't really trust and is nowhere near as good as VIA. In stark contrast, Keychron not only uses the standard VIA but their warranty department is far more responsive and trustworthy.
Keychron offers several different plates and accessories. Keychron is clearly a much better managed company than any other Chinese company that I've run across.
For what year describing I would probably recommend Drop's CTRL High Profile. Zeal plate mount stabilizers, StupidFish plate and case foam. Especially if you like RGB around the case.
Regarding North versus South facing LEDs, you definitely want North facing LEDs if you have shine through keycaps which you may not use but trust me a lot more people out there not only want them but need them to type. A lot of people are "hunt and peck" type typists. South facing LEDs just literally suck for shine throughs. I have both types and I've never run across any issue, just don't get crappy cheap dye sub as you said you have keycaps. I've never had a problem with OEM styled keycaps, and especially no issues with GMK double shots.
.. forgot to mention, I'm right in the middle of an RMA with AKKO on my 007 V2. The PCB after a firmware update would no longer connect to the crappy cloud app that quite honestly I wouldn't be at all surprised if it was caring and injecting a Trojan on my PC. Quite honestly I don't really trust that company.
KBDFans is another company pretty damn close in my opinion to AKKO. The overall feeling of quasi shadiness.

I really love the aesthetics of mechanical keyboards but I hate working with them. For design work it's a lot easier for me to reach shortcuts and navigate with a chiclet keyboard but they lack so much personality.
