Walk About in Winder GA

Here is my recent "walk about" in Winder Ga, the county seat of Barrow County, GA, which is located about an hour northeast of Atlanta and aboput 25 miles from Athens Ga.

My big memory of Winder was 40+ years ago when us kids got the visit from the friendly cop. He would pull up and we would have him run the lights etc. Fun times.

Somewhere with something going for it. All the cops care about is keeping the jail to capacity. Lots of drug problems but they just end up stuck in the correction systems instead of treatment centers. The town is centered around McDonalds and BK (garbage). The city writes tickets to elderly women (like my grandma) for having "too many weeds in her yard" even though she cuts her grass. Winder has some nice things about it but overall I would never move back. @@theHOUSEofSOLD

Agreed agreed don't come to our little town stay away , especially if you plan to come here and break the law. Don't try that in our small town our Police and Sheriff's have a low tolerance for stupidity.

@@poppajoeskatsnyaks1912 My grandma must be a hardened criminal for too many weeds in her yard. Winder is a joke. Maybe if they actually invested in drug treatment centers instead of just a bigger jail, Winder would improve as a community.
