I wholeheartedly agree! I mean, I'm a beginning actor and at first I was almost too apprehensive to submit for roles, thinking I'm not good enough (maybe I am), but I got over that and just started submitting for stuff. I just sent a self tape for a main role casting for a new show and next week I am invited for the live casting because they liked me. I'm excited to just be able to go to live castings. Even if I don't get the part, what an awesome opportunity!
Very true. I recently did a corporate gig and we know how those can be. The client was really strict with how accurate the script and tone is. The first day really broke us as we wanted to do right for the client. All of this anxiety built into me. I had to remember they chose me to be part of this and believe in my self. Stop worrying about the lines and that the client is there. Go with the module scenes. That really helped on day 2
Great video. Thanks for sharing. I went to an audition intensive workshop and they said the same thing. Hearing it from you in more depth has really made it sink in now. All the auditions I've been to after that workshop I've gone in there with this mindset. They call it "booking the room not the job". I also believe that whatever is meant for you will get to you no matter what so after an audition I tend not to think about it anymore and look forward to the next project. Cheers
This was my problem =) I am a perfectionist and I always have too much of caring, tension on a stage etc. Because I keep in mind a thought like: 'I must do the best I can!" and it only ruin my playing. Due to lack of relaxing and having so much of pressure, my emotions just can't express, show up. When I don't care about something my acting is better =)) That said my friend from a filming. So, yeah! Being relaxed is really important. Thank you so much for this video!
