Hi Tiana, thanks for the comment. I think the thing to stay away from is reliving past trauma. This is not that. This is using the circumstance of the scene but using a person from your life, that is alive and well, and placing them into the imaginary circumstance. That way you can turn the emotion on and off, because at the end of the day it was imaginary.

As mentioned in the beginning of the video, this is an emotional exercise, and we do advise caution for anyone going through something before proceeding. The intent is to feel genuine emotions which will play on camera, which is why we tie it to a loved one in your own life. We never recommend recalling a past trauma of your own when in character, because there's no telling where it may take you.

I’ve watched so many videos on how to make yourself cry but this helped me to do in under 10 seconds thank you 😊
i actualy overthink a lot, i love over thinking and there were moments i just thought abt these situations and started crying so randomly and ppl around me be like "u were fine a sec ago-" lol
i started thinking about my dad, who im very close to, and unfortunately has both asthma and high blood pressure. the thought of him being in the hospital was just too much for me,, and i cried before the video was over.
That's why it's good to use a hypothetical, so when you're done performing, you can easily come out of it.
I’ve been trying to learn how to do this forevvvver and this finally managed to get me to do it! Thanks a bunch:)
We are glad we could help!
@@Studio24inc thanks! I’m also desperately in need of seeing my best friend right now just to make sure she’s not in a coma lol, but it did the trick 😂
You actually had to have somebody tell you how to do that?? Really
@@davidbooker11 obviously I tried thinking of something sad previously it just helped to have someone walk through what you would be seeing/doing/feeling etc
Hello from Mexico! okeeey so that did more for me than 2 years of acting classes, thank you so much!
I hope to go to California next year to take classes with you!
Glad we could help. We have Studios in both Northern CA and Los Angeles. Hope to see you in class one day!
I'm not really a crier, but I really felt the tears behind my eyes. They didn't come out, but they were definitely there.
bro what i wanted to know how to cry on cue and then i literally started crying IMMEDIATELY. thank you so much
aaaaaand at 0:48 I paused the video & will go away.. but hopefully will remember to watch it again after how many months. A very dear friend of mine just died in an accident so...... I’m tired of crying. But the video title interests me.. so, thank you acting coach!

That was three years ago…watch it again?
it got me not long after it started-
At 1:15 I immediately started balling I pictured my dog
Gotta practice, I’m generally not a sensitive person so it’s been a challenge for me as a act but my eyes did water!! Thank you very much!
Oh my god stop. This worked. I’ve been trying for month and this.. instant tears rolling down. Thank you!!
