    Purchased: August 2023 - still works GREAT!I ruclips.net/user/postUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment. I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!

    *Works so well **Fastly.Cool** that it only requires daytime operation until high temp and humidity are overnight. It is difficult to get to side filters, but back is easily accessible.*

    My unit is 3 years old and the condensor fan blade(one of the 3 ) was slightly bent causing the unit to vibrate and these vibrations would travel through the refrigerant lines and it would create a low frequency sound inside, finally changed the fan and now its all fine

    Excellent job my friend. I had the same problem with my 12K BTU LG mini split but mine was rubbing the metal casing but it was making the very same noise yours were doing. I took the casing out and with a big hammer I did a huge dent from the inside of the casing and no more noise, thank you for posting your fix.

      J. Gutierrez great to hear you got it resolved. By the way, no issues since making the fix, unit running great and quiet. Though not so efficient for heating in cold (Low F) temperatures. So using baseboard when it is really cold out. Great for AC though.

    • @j.gutierrez2899
      @j.gutierrez2899 6 лет назад

      I don't know what SEER is your MS but it could not be less efficient than your baseboard heating. Today was at 32F and my LG was blowing very hot air, thank you!

    • @bluesfoxpix
      @bluesfoxpix  6 лет назад +1

      Looks like the HSPF is 9.0 on this specific unit. It does blow out nice hot air. I just observed that the fan was running at a higher pace compared to the more efficient mitsubishi that we own, and made an assumption that it might be less efficient than the baseboard (non-scientific, just an assumption). Quite amazed to see that the unit can run at about 0F and still produce good warm air though!

    Thanks for the video! Another question: I have the same AC. Is it normal for the condenser unit to drip a little bit in the valve because it is condensing? This is happening with mine. Thanks!

    Thank You for your time and help. We have a Gree and really like it a lot.
    But the problem with My Gree Mini Split is on the inside of the house.
    The fan motor has gotten much louder since we bought it. And is very irritating in our new remodel, enclosed garage.
    I've cleaned the filters, no help, I'm assuming that the fan blades have build up on them?
    Do you have an idea of what this could be Sir.
    Thank You.

    In these units there’s always a bit of slack with copper piping. Bending slightly the copper tubing away from one another would have been a far better solution than inserting the rubber foam as that will only deteriorate over time and you’ll be back at square one.

    • @bluesfoxpix
      @bluesfoxpix  4 года назад +4

      Thanks for the pointer Mick. I'll try that if it starts making noise again. Fortunately the original fix is still holding strong for now.

    • @soniczoo
      @soniczoo 3 года назад +1

      I had same thought. The cover must be hitting the pipe.. as illustrated when you were stopping rattle with your finger.. doh! just bend it a tad right now/there. With the padding the pipe is still hitting the cover.. maybe worse. Thanks for the video though, very helpful - noises like that are the bane of my existence lol.

    • @Ncky
      @Ncky 3 года назад

      Also over longer periods of time, if pipes are vibrating and hitting each other they will basically make a hole in one of them

    Is that increasing vibration sound normal? at 5:50 after the fix? Because my AC unit makes that same noise and I thought it was faulty, for some reason I thought ACs were silent. Mine makes a weird washing machine noise when I configure the inner fan either in low or auto. It stops making the noise when I config the fan at high speed.

    Great video but I would have just contacted LG for a replacement. Shabby workmanship and you shouldn’t have to spend your time on trying to fix something brand new delivered with a defect. I just had Mitsubishi units fitted and one of the indoor units rattles on heating mode. Getting the installer to get it sorted with the manufacturer. Paid full price, need a decent working unit 🤷‍♀️

    Which bracket are you using? Do you notice any vibration inside the house (after the fix)? What size unit is your MS 9k?

    • @bluesfoxpix
      @bluesfoxpix  5 лет назад +2

      L Dlink the bracket is from DuctlessAire, purchased on Amazon. After this video, I also installed a Mitsubishi near it. When doing the other unit install, became ambitious and straightened this LG bracket by placing a small wood piece on the backing. So the unit is more level currently than the original video illustrates. I’ll try to get a photo and post for you in a few days. Here is a link to the bracket on Amazon, about $45
      www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LDU9R2I/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . The unit is the 9K LG Mega HV, basic compared to our other LG and Mitsubishi, but has been working flawlessly. Since the mount is on the back of the garage, there is some low frequency harmonic when the door is closed. But subtle enough not to be heard outside the garage. Maybe I’ll do a comparison video for you to show the difference in sound between the 4 units we have.

    • @ldlink3935
      @ldlink3935 5 лет назад

      @@bluesfoxpix Thanks for the reply, and the video. The unit I am planning to install recommends 12 inch clearance behind the unit where the air gets sucked in, but many of the brackets I have seen barely allow 10 inches after placing the 11 inch wide unit on it. Your install looks pretty roomy. I plan to install a unit for a sunroom, so I am on the fence about attaching it to the studs (for a shorter, and more efficient 16 foot line set) or putting it on the ground using the full 25 feet of line and not worrying about vibration. The other option is building some tall platform, but not sure how feasible or safe that would be.
