Members of the England 1970 World Cup squad,Jackie Charlton, Nobby Stiles and Peter Bonetti have all passed away in 2020. You have to feel sorry for Bonetti in particular, a brilliant, reliable and popular goalkeeper at Chelsea who won several medals in his career. He was a reserve goalkeeper in the 1966 World Cup winning team and was at Chelsea for nearly twenty years playing over 600 games in all. Although the Chelsea faithful affectionately called him 'The Cat' due to his athletic performances for rhem he acquired the unfortunate nickname 'Spaghetti fingers' by opposition fans after having a nightmare game against West Germany in the 1970 Quarter Finals in which England were eliminated and he was never picked for England again. It's amazing how one bad game can overshadow an otherwise brilliant career.
Thank you for letting me know. I suspect you will unfortunately have several more names to add to this list aside from those three England players by the time you compile part 5.
I always counts the deaths by car accidents i noticed it was none existent is the old days as football players could not afford flash cars to drive dangerously and carelessly in. I think the highest is World Cup 98 when about 5 died, that when salaries had shot up.
The safety standards are no longer comparable to those of today's cars. There were no airbags or side impact protection at the time. Also, drivers have often failed to see that a seatbelt saves lives.
@@Panini-Potpourri That's good. I think is not easy to know about post-WC lives of Israel's, Morocco's, El Salvador's and eastern european countries players.

Bonetti and Jack Charlton will be featured in part 5 next year. Nobby Stiles had no sticker in this album, but may he rest in peace too.

Not sure if Peter Osgood had a place in the sticker album, but he definitely was in the England 1970 WC squad.

All Israeli players, who were featured in this album, are still alive.
