Wonderful video Andrew! Loved the beautiful carpet of leaves on the forest.ground, and the massive tree trunks on those beech trees are amazing. I was surprised by how much green you still have on the trees though. The water was flowing nicely from the rain you've been having. Lovely images as always..."Wistful" was my fav woodland images and "Cascade" was my fav water.imsge, "Harmony" was a beautiful image as well. This location you were at looks a lot like some you would find in the ravines of West Virginia...can't wait for those landscapes to be my norm next year! Really enjoyed a long overdue landscape video mate! Great to see and hear you again! Hope you are well, have a great weekend!
Thanks Paul - been itching to get out but that cold knocked me for six recently so glad I finally hit the trail and woodlands this week. It’s a real mixed bag of colours with some trees even bare now ! Hopefully enough colour for me to catch some more late autumn images before they’re gone. So you definitely off to West Virginia ??? Exciting times ! Our youngest bought his flat a few weeks ago so we’re looking at down sizing next year. Anyway really good to be out and making films and hopefully get a few more in over autumn and winter and all the great comments much appreciated as always 🙏🏻 thanks so much and take care and chat soon 👍🏻😊
A hidden gem of a location Andrew and one from where you caught some lovely Woodland images Loved the bnw waterfall shots too 👍🏻 Really enjoyed the adventure and have a great weekend 😊
Wow, look at the moss all over them trees! How cool is that! Love the autumn time...and actually feel like a kid scuffling through the leaf litter...one of those joys of the season. A beautiful set of falls for sure! Otis would say you go ahead and get your feet wet, while I stay over on the bank high and dry! lol Lots of beautiful compositions! Awesome! Bruce and Otis
It’s a beautiful spot in autumn and such a lovely spot to shoot with all the colours textures and subject interest. I’m sure Otis would love it here ! Thanks so much and appreciated as ever guys - all the best and thanks again :)
My two favorites are Enchanted and the one @7:43. The one you were not sure about. I think it is a great image with wonderful contrasting colors and just the right amount of light. Enjoyed Andrew you have a great weekend.
Looking very autumnal in that woodland, 'Enchanted' caught my eye. Autumn colours are not as vibrant down south compared to previous years, maybe due to the dry summer we had, especially in the east of England. I visited Snowdonia two weeks ago, which looked very autumnal, especially around Beddgelert.
Cheers Russ and Beddgelert is beautiful - hope you enjoyed the visit - I have been surprised by the colours given the long hot summer and glad to have managed a trip out to capture autumn. Been struggling to get out recently but hopefully soon ! Thanks again :)
Great Video! I missed this Video. pleased to see you doing what you do best! 02:37 what a beautiful image, I love it! 02:56 Stunning, what a wonderful contrast a cracking image my favourite so far! 04:00 is that the same tree as 02:37 ? if so this is my #3 ranked shot so far 04:30 love the colour, personally I'm not sure about the big trunk on the left 04:53, there's nothing like a path covered with leaves, wonderful depth Beautiful image, I still prefer the autumn colours 07:36, I love it, great water, and colour! a new #1 you are mastering these tight crops, wonderful. Another beautiful image I just love the colour contrast. Thanks for sharing
Thanks so much Tony and great to be back doing Landscape Photography again - been struggling to get out and about plus the weather has been ☔️ for so long ! Not been out recently filming but have managed a trip just with the camera . Hope to get out soon and do another film but with Xmas approaching I’m not sure ! Anyway thanks again and take care 👍🏻
beautiful work once again Andrew. feels good to get back out in nature again I would say. I have big plans for the New Year, can't wait. until then you guys are keeping me inspired
Thanks very much Paul and really appreciate the kind words - been a while but glad to be back out and those plans sound exciting ! Look forward to it 👍🏻😊 Thanks again and all the best !
Nice I realised why you need those boots! 😃 A beautiful woodland there Andrew😍😍 Loved those colours and “Enchanted” was a favourite although love all those woodland shots! How good is “Harmony” 😍😍 Stunner But they’re all excellent. Love that Bills Mothers expression 😃😃 Flippin great watch Andrew as always Inspires me to get out and try some of this Thanks mate
Big thanks Dave and it's a cracking little ravine hidden away but full of hidden delights to explore and shoot. Glad you enjoyed the trip and appreciate all the comments :)
Good to see you back out again mate, struggling for time myself recently, some lovely woodland scenes especially liked some of the waterfall images with the dark water and autumnal leaves, really nice mate, hope your well, take care.
Great to be back out Lee and this is a great little spot - one to return to for more exploring and hopefully reach the far bank and the other falls next time ! All the best and thanks 😊
Lovely stuff Andrew - not a location I'm familiar with, but looks fantastic. Autumn has to be the best time of year for landscape photography. Some great images here - my fave was Light & Shade - simple but really effective. Wistful was really nice too. 👍
Thanks Robert - my first visit but one for a Misty morning or in winter with snow - I’ve been under the weather 🤧 so it was great to finally catch some late autumn colours and yes I agree 🍂- really appreciate the comments mate and all the best 👍🏻
I was just over the road from there last week. Went to check out Liverpool Castle having never been around that part of Rivington before. After finding it was nothing too exciting (the 'castle'...there is a nice bit of woodland around there) I took a look at Tiger's Clough - saw a shot of the waterfall on the map. But decided it was one for another time. So thanks for a good look around the place without me having to get my boots wet :) After watching you wade into the water, the realisation dawns on me that a good pair of Wellington boots need to be on my Christmas list!
Definitely one for the welly bobs for sure Dave and someone commented that there is a way to cross via a footbridge so plenty more exploring to be done here - I bet our paths almost crossed ! I made a film from the woodlands 2 years ago but never published it so I am due another trip back if the weather prevails and the trees don’t lose all their colours 🍂 There are some lovely avenues to shoot and if the mist drifts in from the reservoir it would make for a great spot to film and shoot. Hope you enjoyed the wander around and the “castle “ isn’t all that is it ! Big thanks and all the best mate 👍🏻
There is a shooting club up there, which I used to go to for HFT competition. I should really give it a go for photography. Lovely photographs you have produced sir, very much my style. Thank you.
Really appreciate the comments and I didn’t know about the club up there. I’d recommend this spot for photography - only my first visit but I’ll be be back for sure as plenty more to explore around and about. Thanks again 👍🏻😊
Great video Andrew, I really need to go back here and seeing as it’s a 10-15 minute walk from my house I’ve no excuse. Well, to say I’ve no excuse is a bit of a white lie, besides my mobility I have a mental barrier for this place. You see, two years ago to this last week I was there and as you go down the first lot of steps coming from the road you have the bridge in front of you, to the left you have the more open area with the woodland and then the stream to your right, it was wet, not raining but it had been that week so I put my backpack down against a tree and it decided to start sliding down. Like anyone I bent down to stop it but then I started sliding too, I had my boots on but simply could not stop and my bag, followed by me went over the edge, just at the highest part and “SPLASH”, 2 cameras and 4 lenses ruined. I’ve been a couple of times since but took me a year before I’d go near the place, sounds soft but due to my mobility I was stuck, I couldn’t pull myself out, went under twice and missed a rock be about an inch when I went over. My wife had taken the dog over the bridge and up the top so had no idea but thankfully a family heard me and the guy was a big chap who literally just picked me up. This video and a couple by Ben McDonald ( who found the place a dump, full of rubbish on his first visit ) really are making me determined to try again. Great images there mate, if you go over the bridge, up the steps, you can get down onto the other side, it did look a little fierce to walk over, was there no chance of walking over near the bridge? There’s usually a much more narrow bit there.
My goodness Brian that is a ripping yarn and I’m glad someone was nearby to help ! I can see what you mean about this place having barriers having read this and I’d be the same for sure - I was on the Isle of Harris and the wind took my tripod , body and lens over a cliff edge ! I was safe and the gear insured but still quite a shock to watch it happen - not as bad as yours and was your kit insured ? Thanks for the tip about using the bridge !!! I never even thought ! I’ll try that next time and maybe have a winter visit with some frost / snow maybe. I saw Bens rubbish dump film also - it was certainly very clean and tidy on my visit. Thanks for sharing your tale and I do hope you manage to get back there Brian - all the best Andrew
I never thought that a professional photographer use a Nikon D5300, I had a D70, I got about 15 years ago, still have some F mount lenses, I going to buy an almost new D5300 I beleive it is worth to try, since I like to hung up my pictures, mostly 14"x18", thanks.
It’s a good camera that I’ve had for about 5 years now and have been happily taking photographs - I also print my images and am very pleased with them. Thanks so much for watching;)
Good to see you and your shorts back out in the wilderness Andrew 😄Great Autumnal images. I was surprised, given all the colour of the moss and the fallen leaves that you went for monochrome versions of the first two waterfall images but they work really well. I also liked the log shot you weren't keen on.
Thanks mate and really enjoyed the local trip especially as I’d not been before. There was a debate going on colour v bnw for the waterfall - if I could have crossed the water and taken a different composition I definitely would have shot a colour image - the two I managed to take worked best in bnw IMO as many of the beech leaves had washed / blown away but anyway I’m waffling 🤣 Thanks Andrew and much appreciated as always 👍🏻😃

beautiful shots in a beautiful area. Nice to be part of this excursion.

Enjoyed the walk with you, a wonderful set of images but really loved the small scenes towards the end of the video. Cheers!
So glad you enjoyed the film and the images and big thanks Chris 👍🏻 Hope you’re keeping well and much appreciated 🙏🏻
Beautiful work Andrew! Love that forest scene at 4:30. The light is just perfect!
Ah many thanks Brian and really appreciated 👍🏻😊 A lovely trip out 🙏🏻

Very nice video Andrew, really like the first composition of the tree in portrait. That’d look great printed 😊
Cheers mate and as always I do need to print more of my images !! Note to self to fire up the printer !!! Big thanks and much appreciated Ben 👍🏻
