Such amazing the images, especially the mill when light changes. Very useful information and so enjoyable. New subscriber here for fully support 🔔🔔 Thank you for wonderful sharing 👍👍🤗
Great to see you back on RUclips Andrew. Fantastic set of images. All the windmill shots were excellent but my fave is your first shot, of the tree. I just like the minimalism of it, great stuff. 👌
Thank you so much mate and really enjoyed the trip - could have done with less drought like conditions for the lone tree but even so not too bad. The windmill shoot was just amazing with that light and they look great printed - much appreciated and thanks again :)
Welcome back Andrew, I've missed you, good to see you back! love 05:02, classic Andrew Hamilton image! Wonderful Texture in 06:35. love the diagonal lines! 06:48 wow! powerful! Beacon Mill what a subject! 13:09 what a wonderful image classic composition great cloud and soft warm light! 13:29 beautiful, well worth the revisit! Thanks again Good to see you back!
Thank you so much Tony - Had a great time filming again - never stopped my photography, just not vlogged any of my trips but thought it was about time I did so ! Really appreciate the kind words and hope you're doing well - Cheers again :)
Hi Andrew! Haven't seen you for awhile- great to see you again! Great examples of light on the landscape. We love windmills, especially since our grandfather and family were from Holland- we always associate windmills with our fond memories of him. Beautiful to see the light coming through, and interesting clouds in the background too. Take care- Jennifer :) 👍👍
Hi Jennifer and great to be back out with the camera and especially to bring back some fond memories for you. I had a great time out and the light really came to fruition for those windmill images which look great printed. All the best and thanks for watching 😀
Hi Andrew I don't know why I hadn't been notified of these videos and I assumed you'd left YT then out of the blue I received a notification of a new video only to find out I'd missed 2-3 so I'm just catching up with them now. I'm pleased you haven't left YT and you're still wearing shorts 😂 As per the title for the video, the light can transform a mediocre image into a portfolio image. Unfortunately it does occasionally / regularly require sitting about and waiting for the light. Right I'd better carry on catching up 👍
Hi Paul and thanks for watching ! I'm just in the throes of editing another film when your notification popped up ! A combination of inspiration / motivation / preparing and selling the house plus life in general has kept me away from the camera trips, travels and adventures but I'm glad to have my mojo return and back out now :) This was a great trip to Brighton and the South Downs and patience was in abundance ha ha - Yes the shorts are still my apparel of choice too 😂 - Really appreciate the comments and thanks ever so much for watching - all the best and enjoy 👍
So glad to see you back Andrew! I have missed your walks. Loved Isolation and Miller's Place. Such a good lesson to learn, patience, waiting for the right time to take the photo instead of moving on to something else. Hope you are well!
All good Chris thanks and appreciate the comments 😀it was a splendid walk and that last location was a cracker for sure ! A very enjoyable location and the South Downs are a wonderful spot to amble. Thanks again and likewise hope all good with you too 👍🏻
Oh wow Andrew’s back. 👏👏🎉🎉👍👍 Have really missed your films - so great to see you on the notifications again Hope all is well My neck of the Woods so to speak - I was brought up not far from there and the family has a milling history so all very evocative for me as I haven’t been back since the lockdowns. Wonderful images once again and so good to hear how you composed and carried out the shots. If I had to choose a favourite then it has to be Shepherds Delight. The patience required to wait for that last light is encapsulated in that photograph. Great to see you back Andrew and there’s quite a few on here who will agree 👍👍👍
Thanks so much Dave for all those kind comments - all good thanks and just had a break from film making although have still been out with the camera many times. Glad to have evoked some memories by visiting your old haunts and we really enjoyed visiting the area and wandering the paths and trails up there. Really appreciated and I'll bob over and see what you've been up to and where you've been :) Thanks again !
Thanks Philip and it was good to be back out making a film again . Beacon Mill was my favourite location to shoot and so glad you liked the images 👍🏻 much appreciated and thanks for watching and for the lovely comments 😊
Hello Andrew!! Great to see you once again! Wonderful area...sounds like you experience the same weather conditions as we do here in Nova Scotia, where the saying is to just wait a minute and it will no doubt change. Lovely open landscape...could watch Otis romp and play forever! My mom always talked about how much she enjoyed the windmills in Holland...brought back some of those memories with my mom. Take good care and welcome back! Bruce and Otis
Thanks so much Bruce and yes Otis would love it up there - we took our two dogs out and they had a whale of a time ! Glad to have evoked some Dutch memories and shooting the mill was my favourite part of the film image wise - the light was amazing and really pleased with the images. All the best and thanks guys 👍🏻🙏🏻
Andrew it's great to see a video from you again! I liked "isolated" best until I saw the last ones! Very inspiring and we're all very glad you're back and congratulations on 500 subs!
I won't ask where you have been, but will say glad to see you again Andrew. Wow a nice set of images. As a farm boy I enjoyed the first set and as an Engineer I liked your use of lines. We like straight lines ☺️. The mill shots made the day. Loved the use of the long grass as a foreground. And the sky was wonderful. Great seeing you Andrew. Have a great weekend.
Many thanks Duane and happy to have appealed to your former trade and likeness for lines via my images! And yes for me too, the mill shots were my favourites especially as the light just got better that evening. Really appreciate the kind words and comments and a big thank you :)
Hi Andrew , good to see you back out and taking us along with you, some really nice images and practical demonstration showing the importance of light within the scene. The windmill images were really nice and like how you processed them, very enjoyable and looking forward to seeing more from you in the coming weeks and months, all the best mate take care !
Glad you enjoyed it Lee and it altho I've never stopped going out with the camera , it was good to get the video camera up and running again. Happy to have a had a good break and will put films out now on an as and when basis rather than trying to feed the You Tube Machine and chase the algorithms ! Cheers and all the best
What a wonderful surprise to see a new video under the Andrew Hamilton Photography channel. Lovely rolling hills down there in the Sussex area. The texture in the field is wonderful. A whole host of wonderful shots in this one as always but of course my favorite would have to be "Resplendent" with those moody clouds, but closely followed by the beautiful light in "Isolated". Looks like the clouds were changing fast for you towards the end of the video, getting some beautiful sunset light at the very end. Always one of the best watches on YT for me, and the word usage in this one didn't disappoint either (one of my favorite parts of your videos). I hope you and the family are all doing well and making it through ok during this most recent heatwave. Chat soon pal.
Many many thanks Paul and really enjoyed putting a film together after such a while - whilst I've never stopped getting out with the camera it's just been a case of focussing on my photography and less so on vlogging the trip . Likewise Resplendent was my favourite image - glad I stayed in situ and carried on photographing even though I'd packed all the video gear away ! Won't make that mistake again ! And that's both you and Dave making reference to and complimenting my narrative approach and oratory video style so a big thanks for that ! Had a day out in Manchester yesterday for the footy and it was quite warm and took on plenty water !!! We are just not set up for hot temperatures over here so mainly indoors today to stay cool - thanks again and much appreciated - take care and all the best :)
As for the moment with me living in London, East Sussex is a great place for me to visit for Landscape Photography as it's only 2 hours or so away - really liked the lone tree 05:04 👍
Cheers mate and much appreciated. Had a great time there and whilst I didn't vlog it (wish I had now) The Seven Sisters from the Coastguard cottages, Seaford, is a beautiful spot to visit if you get chance. Wonderful photography opportunities ! Thanks again
I had a feeling I might see something new from you on here fairly soon (as your last comment to me was via this channel name) and it was a great watch. Lovely location and always a great lone tree shot to showcase, it was great to see one of You Tubes true logophiles back talking about photography again. Splendid
Thanks so much Dave and I'd love to get that word into one of my next videos !! I'll have to work on that ha ha but yes I love a good oratory video - had a great time out on the Downs and enjoyed putting a film together ! Thanks for the support and much appreciated Dave.
Welcome back Andrew - great to see you doing Landscape photography vlogs again. Love the windmill images - a great subject and the light was worth the wait.
Thanks Andrew and it was great few days away and thought I’d dip my toe back in after a good break ! Definitely my favourite time was down at the mill for sunset and really pleased with those shots so as you said , well worth sticking it out and waiting for the light . All the best and thanks again 👍🏻
