Honestly these Ohl kids once they experience the college atmosphere why would you want to travel around in little gyms in the ohl. College sports are so fucking awesome and now they could get paid extremely well.
If the game stayed exactly the same in the 80s as in the 90s then yes. Also remember Mario had a terrible team around him and didn't make the playoffs until 1989. Wayne had his boys all grow together since they were young. Mario's teams didn't get more scoring depth u til the 90s. I think for what time he played a healthier Mario Lemieux probably hits close to 1000 goals and definitely over 2000 points, probably around 2300-2500 but still behind Gretzky. Pittsburgh problem was they didn't surround him with enough talent until the end of the 80s onward.
