A family that could move to Hong Kong from Beijing (or anywhere in communist China) in mid 1980s was no way a common/average family in China that time, and he said he flew in China before moving to HK, that gives more proof he was born into some really really high ranking communist party background family with relatives in Hong Kong.
from the video that he visited Hong Kong , he mentioned that his house was in the “Mid-level” when he was young . That’s one of the most expensive place to live in HK

Great interview! Thanks for sharing, Sam. I have also been interested in aviation since childhood. I remember when I was like around 5 or so, I wanted to go look at planes at this one small airport. We couldn't afford to fly anywhere, but I still remember the feeling I got when I saw the planes take off to their destination. I still get the same rush after 30 years.

Thank you Sam for information about you. I hope your flying hobby will place you in many hearts for many years. It was pleasing to know that you are a family man and your dearest wife is very fond of your hobby. I also feel that your travel time is very pleasant as you meet new people around the world. Most importantly, you are surrounded by many beautiful and accomplished men and women with great receptivity and smiles. I wish to see you more.
So the most you ever paid for a flight was Singapore to Sydney which was "a couple of thousand" dollars. A couple of thousands is $2,000. I find that hard to believe. Surely you've paid more than $10,000 before!?
Finally as an investment banker now that finally explains how you can afford to fly Business for First Class. What is really missing is that we all cant fly that way, so what you show is not how the airlines treat the everyday passenger. In Economy lets face it flight attendants servicing this class would much rather be sleeping
I am the same, I have a love of flying that was developed from flying a few intercontinental flights to Europe when I was a boy. I have fond memories of visiting the cockpit and helping the Qantas FAs with their trolley carts. Unfortunately I'm not a banker so flying these days is very rare. I enjoy your videos very much and can only dream of flying first class like you do.
fellow Investment Banker here. Just to clarify some things : Sam is 37 yrs old now if i am not mistaken. If he is still in IB, which likely he isn't, usually it goes like this : 1st, 2nd, 3rd year analyst's total comp starts from 120k, goes upward 200k. Rare case it will be higher than that, but possible. This was me 22 - 24 yrs old. Associates, usually 25, 26 yrs old, makes usually 150k - 180k as base, and extar 200k as bonus, bring the total comp to close to 350k to half a million. Next up, VP, you will be 30yrs old now, making minimum 500k, could be in the million but rare. SVP, marginally higher, could be over a million. Noted at this level, the internal data show that mid-career average pre-tax total comp would be over a Million. ( mid career = 35 yrs old) next up is Director, which is not about seniority anymore, makes anything from 2, 3 Million to 10s of Millions. And most bulge bracket banks would comp your travel anyway, so you are not paying the business class. i don't think company nowadays comp first class that much anymore, but i could be wrong. Most people move to PE or Hedge Fund after they made associate or VP, so they could make much more much quickly than what they could have made in IB. so, Sam is 37 yrs old. I am guessing minimum he should be pulling in at least a few million to justify 15 yrs in high finance.
Yeah but 2008 was then end of a lot of that, at least for I Bankers in the USA. There's still money to be made in the industry but nothing like there once was.

thank you sam for sharing what you love doing :) its an eye opener for us plus we see how is it in business class and especially the first class!! things i could never afford in my life but glad that a person like you shared it here in youtube. because most dont. im really looking forward to your aviation videos because like you iam also amaze on how airlines are upgrading these days! its crazy! 😁 keep up the good work!🤗
OK the obvious question. where did u find this girl. seriously she cannot ask a single question properly. It seems like all this interview stuff was done in a rush.
Impressed that you are a global citizen who enjoys aviation. I used to do the same with hotels as you do with aviation.
Sam Chui motivates me to travel more. Really heart your videos, Sam.
That intro is like watching a 12 years old kids in acting class 😂
Perfect! I fly to make money, he flies to spend money.
ROGL😆
“What’s your favorite airline?”:
Lists all 5 star airlines
And also uNiTeD
Absolutely Sam, I have also spent some of the happiest and relaxing times of my life in air or at the airports
I know, u get sponsored by airlines.
It is really interesting your channel!
So the most you ever paid for a flight was Singapore to Sydney which was "a couple of thousand" dollars. A couple of thousands is $2,000. I find that hard to believe. Surely you've paid more than $10,000 before!?
It would be reasonable to assume that a couple of thousand dollars is $10,000.
Finally as an investment banker now that finally explains how you can afford to fly Business for First Class. What is really missing is that we all cant fly that way, so what you show is not how the airlines treat the everyday passenger. In Economy lets face it flight attendants servicing this class would much rather be sleeping
I thought I was the only once that loves when the plane takes off. I like sitting by the window looking out.
Why Are the comments so good 😂😂😂😂
Great interview - one of the most unique accents ever
you fly 100+ days per year and also say you have a day job at investment bank which is very demanding work. My BS meter is running wild.
chinese are big on bullshit
He probably own the investment bank..... that’s not very unusual or hard to believe right?
Wow! What a REALISTIC interview!!!
Sam you are quite simply adorable. Keep going man and enthral us with your clips. ❤️
Hey Sam... you sure are a lucky man being able to fly in J & F. Wow !!!. Wish I could afford it. All the best to you.
So this guy spends around 350k per year on flights. That's the dream right there
No, he's actually a international arms dealer!
😂😂😂
ace toxic lmao
I am the same, I have a love of flying that was developed from flying a few intercontinental flights to Europe when I was a boy. I have fond memories of visiting the cockpit and helping the Qantas FAs with their trolley carts. Unfortunately I'm not a banker so flying these days is very rare. I enjoy your videos very much and can only dream of flying first class like you do.
fellow Investment Banker here. Just to clarify some things : Sam is 37 yrs old now if i am not mistaken. If he is still in IB, which likely he isn't, usually it goes like this :
1st, 2nd, 3rd year analyst's total comp starts from 120k, goes upward 200k.
( mid career = 35 yrs old)
next up is Director, which is not about seniority anymore, makes anything from 2, 3 Million to 10s of Millions.
So the key to being a Sam Chui level avgeek: have a ton of money. That said, who knew there was still money in I Banking?
Yeah but 2008 was then end of a lot of that, at least for I Bankers in the USA. There's still money to be made in the industry but nothing like there once was.
More power to you bro, enjoy life.
I wanna be like Sam, you’re my idol ❤️
Sam is awesome! How could you not like that guy?
The level of hard work that women did to remember those lines
She didn’t, you can see multiple times during the video she is looking at her phone
I know a high level investment banker from Merrill Lynch. He spent over 200 days out of his office a year. He doesn't fly over 100 trips per year.
See my other post.

You are literally my new favorite person. You do EXACTLY what I want to do when I grow up. We have THE SAME interests when it comes to flying. Has there been an airline you HAVENT flown?
Good luck in your investment banking career 👍
@@michaeljames3912 made my day :D
I do understand all of stage, level, and aircraf services from Mr. Sam Chui's experiences. Thanks a lot Mr. Sam, have a nice and safe the flight.
I resonate with that.
