Which is your favorite? Drop a comment and let us know! 🤘🏼This video took us weeks to film, and put Justin's bike through a lot! If you enjoyed it, please consider subscribing, sharing, liking and all that jazz!
Love your pie cut tip on your blackhead exhaust
I love sound of the TBR turn out and it’s look in black (currently owned). 2nd 🥈 would be the Blocked exhaust.
D&D 4 life
Patiently awaiting the release of the BLOCK HEAD Exhaust! Can’t wait to install it on my 117 road glide.
I like the reverse cone stealth the best out of what was here... I'm a sucker for duals though
Definitely not lost on me how much work you went through to show us these results.
I think I speak for many when I say how much we respect your professionalism, Chris.
Thanks, again.
Eric in Kissimmee.
I know a lot of work went into making this video. We appreciate you Chris for putting in all the work and Justin for donating your bike to take all of the abuse.
In the name of Horsepower Science ✊
Dude I hate changing exhausts. This is a whole lot of work/time to make this video. This is invaluable for someone looking to upgrade their setup. Great job guys!
Get a load of all this brother, brothers. You guys rock, giving the people what they want. How about another one with some 2-2's boys?
I wish I lived closer. I would love to have Chris tune my bike. The man is a genius.
Driving in from austin tc to have them work on mine
@@matthewescobedo3535 Pennsylvania this month to have Chris do some Cam work, can't wait to pick it up when it's done
Highly recommend, he worked magic on mine
@@not_your_daddys_ultra what did you have done if u don't mind me asking?
@@Silverdiablo1788 I had Wilbers suspension installed, jackpot headers and a dyno tune.
There were so many times during this video where I just laid my head back against my desk chair, closed my eyes, and just listened. Had a smile on face, just enjoying the sound. What a wonderful video to help my get through another sick day! And it certainly helped ease my desire to ride, but only barely! Ain't no substitute for my own bike!
Super glad to read that! 👊🏻
GOOD TO SEE YOU BACK IN CHARGE AGAIN CHRIS
Definitely one of the best Blockhead video’s to date. Thanks Chris!
Dude you fricken killed it. You make it all make sense. I just put in a 132 big bore with 550 cam Sawicki speed shorty. wholly shit she wants to run. right now it just has a tune. Gotta get it on a Dyno and get my numbers. Thanks dude
D&D Vtec kicks in bro!!
SPC all day long though. Flat torque throughout the rev range is NICE! That's a sweet pipe.
You should do some 2-2 pipes vs the 2-1's so people can really understand what's going on here, to show the benefits of a good exhaust system.
That SPC exhaust is the big bore, not the lanesplitter, if anyone was wondering. You can tell by the extra section welded in between the collector and the muffler.
I have the big bore on my '17 SB, for the price and quality you CANNOT go wrong with SPC!
Very cool! I always dig the exhaust comparisons and getting numbers off the same Dyno. Great job explaining everything too Chris.
The Blockhead exhaust looks amazing, sounds great! I went with SPC Big Bore exhaust on my 2-23 Low Rider ST. CR 483, SE 55mm intake, Fuel Moto Air Filter with larger air filter, SE 5.5 injectors going to be installed and dyno tuned soon.
Bringing the zone down to 1500-3500 is where I live. S&S sounds the beast and looks the wildest, but not sure I could live with any of these long term. Thanks Chris.
I have the S&S and I absolutely adore it, at idle you can actually stand next to it and talk without raising your voice and when cruising at partial throttle you barely even notice it but when on the throttle it sounds deep more like a muscle car than a big bagger I really like it
So much work into this! Thank you so much for this great video!
Best exhaust comparison on the web, hands down! Cheers to y’all for bringing us this science! 🧪🤘🏼
👏👏👏
Awesome job!!!! Those companies should be thanking you folks for doing this. Really helps out us consumers.
definately the most informative exhaust video on the planet Thenkyou Chris that must have been exhausting!!.
ps: pleased to see some Softail love.
Waiting for stage 3 now....subscribed
Me too!
Excellent job Chris. A lot of work! I’m the kinda of guy that would prefer a linear torque curve for every day use, so I’d narrow it down to those exhausts that fit this range and then decide on which one of those sound best to me.
excellent comparisons and explanations.
Great video and break down. A lot of companies only show their one-off dyno results of their product and not back to back with competitors. Area under the curve is so important because that's where power differences are actually felt from one product to another.
Wish u guys can get a fab28 2 into 1. Love the sound and look 🤙🏽
such a great deep dive. figuring out what someone rides like vs what you should go with vs what you think you should based on how flat or predictable the power is. keep up the fun cheers.
Thanks, SWG. My best friend and I are both shopping on the next exhaust. Everything from the selection to the explanation are right on target.
A person could learn so much just by watching and listening to Chris
Lol, tell my kids that please! Lol
Nicely done, thank you. I would pick the Sawicky with cat, because of glow and fire, and be glad it made it in the same category as the others.
Excellent content! I just love the science behind combustion engines. Great job Chris! Thanks Blockhead!
Love the comparison of the exhausts plus Cam.
Great job Chris we all know how much work you did
Great video Chris! Glad to see the Christmas tree! Glad u guys decided to keep it up!
Amazing video. Thanks for taking the time to show us results!
Great work lads 👍🏼👊🏼
Your efforts & attention to details are the best I’ve come across ☝🏼Keep up the great work
Great job, the dyno graph shows where your power comes and fades on whatever system you choose. It definitely validated my choice.
Great video. A lot of effort went into this video and we know you can’t test every exhaust. We all are guilty of chasing peek dyno numbers and stray away from where the power is made and what rpm range we actually ride in. Cams should be chosen by the rpm range we ride and the pipe should be matched to that cam.
It would be interesting to throw in one old pipe/ “old technology” (i.e Thunderheader)to show benefits of a new pipe vs pipes we ran 20 years ago.
Man you covered so many aspects in this research. Great job!
Great seeing part two. I still love the look and sound of the TBR Turnout. Great work Chris, you are the man!
Great job documenting how to make a Harley decent!
😂
Thank you Professor Chris! When it comes time to vote for tenure, I vote Yes.
You guys are so professional in all your tests. You really know your stuff. The blockhead exhaust is the best looking to me and is well rounded. D and D runs great but looks are meh. And S and S checks all boxes. Looks like you can’t go wrong with any of these systems. The horsepower gain from stage one to stage two is really remarkable.
Great Job. Lot of hard work put in this video. Thank You for explaining to us. Also. Props for not just going all sales like and pushing BH exhaust and keeping it real about why each exhaust suits different rides.
You're forgetting the most important pipe that matches the exhaust finicky 475 cam. Thunderheader X-Series. However, the D&D comes close. Any pipe that's short and free-flowing will have low-end torque dip.
Impressive analysis
Herculean effort to bring us this type of content! Really appreciate you Chris.. you are the definition of MASTER TECH.. 🏍️💪🏻
Dude… you put so much work into this i hate to ask about pipes you didn’t test. Out of the ones you tested, I like the d&d best. I really like the Gallop Rocker looks for the build I have in mind. Fast Johnny street glide. I just wonder if they wouldn’t be too open for a stock cam. Still haven’t decided on a cam. Love the channel.
More of this please ...have tbr, wanted to know more...I'll watch shit like this for HOURS.
Love my tbr by the way. Love how it sounds and rides, wished you would have shown more numbers though.
More numbers?…Huh? Whachu talkin bout Willis? You got numbers on every system!
Worded that wrong...wish you would have gone over the tbr #'s a little more (were the power comes into play)
Or I could stop being lazy and go back and look after you explained the graph lol
I prefer the S & S Grand Nationals for me they have the right look for a Softail Standard and the rest is a great bonus.
Hey Chris, awesome video. All the videos I watch everyone talks about max numbers and that’s it. I learned more about power band and power delivery in this video. Very educational so thank you. Keep the knowledge coming in brother
You guys kick ass! Seeing your first shootout was what made me buy a Sawicki pipe. And your videos help me through the winter up here in the north, cant wait for riding season!!
thank you Chris still holding out for blockhead exhaust
It’s coming very soon!
Thanks Mr 🥶
Absolutely love that you guys take the time to do these. Keep up the quality work!!
I think the TBR sounds the best (HPi close second) but not really a fan of the way they look. Looks, I actually like the black exhaust best, although the S&S has a crazy cool look but not sure it'd work with my sport glide bags. Great video.
Impressed with all. But the S&S was surprising with the hiflow cat 50 state legal. I guess their r&d is legit. If i recall even stage 1 shootout was also impressive.
Thanks guys this is awesome!
Thanks for the detailed review, I really enjoy these sessions.
Thanks Chris -lot of effort
Great job Chris tells me a lot and I appreciate it
Great presentation
Great videos! Please do a comparison of stg 3 💪
Great video Chris
😎👍 Chris is the man.
That chrome clutch release cover looks nice on the street bob.
Really enjoyed the video. Fantastic work you guys.
looks good 👍
Great video. Appreciate the effort you put into this!
Every pipe but one of the best, bassani! Excellent power exhaust!
Science just in time. Been thinking of changing my corba el diablo pipe(2 into 1) on my low rider st to a s/s 2 into 1 pipe for looks and this gets the wheels turning more 😉👌👌
No one seems to make full titanium exhausts for Harley like the Italian brands like Ducati, MV AGusta or Aprilia. The super thin wall titanium is stronger than steel, does not rust or corrode. It’s almost 50% lighter than steel but allows a special ring tone to the exhaust sound. You can hear the difference. Titanium is known for its rapid cooling to help engine performance. It cools almost immediately when engine turn off. Plus the beautiful colors of the metal
Appreciate it …love the content
Good info thanks ⛄️
been waiting for this.. great stuff, thank you.
Great video!
Love these videos!
8:30 sawicki without the cat - sawicki with the cat - sawicki sawicki, what! lol
Great video. Still missing the popular Bassani and Thunder header exhaust.
Still don’t own either and neither are a sponsoring manufacturer. If you have a set of either you’d like to donate to the cause I’ll for sure test it!
Thank you for 29:16 29:20 the info!!!! Appreciate you!
This is a very informative video and well done. Great job blockhead team!
Chris man that was alot of work as far where I live in the rpm is about 3500 an I have a tbr short on my 2020 lrs 114 well it says 114 but who liks stock stuff
I would love to see what the Blockhead pipe would do with a slight reverse cone tip for a tiny bit of back pressure for the lower rpm.
I could only imaging the hours of work that went into making this video.
I will say one thing kind of in response to what Chris is saying about the dyno charts. You may have one exhaust that will work great for a stock bike and maybe shitty for a cam job. I have seen a lot videos and talked to a few techs that have customers not want to switch pipes because it is not the right pipe for that cam. If you are planning to do a cam, be prepared for a few things.
1. Your exhaust might not work will with the cam you want. You say you don't care until you ride the bike and find out for yourself.
2. Be prepared to swap your exhaust for the cam that you want. (This would be expensive since you will be switching exhaust systems twice)
3. Be prepared to pick a different cam to work with the exhaust you have.
Even though I'm not a tech, please talk to the person that will install and tune your bike. That person does it for a living and will have way more knowledge about this stuff that you do. More than likely, if you go with what your tuner recommends, you will be way happier than if you just slapped something together and sent it.
Great job, thanks Chris
Can you test a spc big bore works ?
I appreciate this kind of content. It helps narrow down what works and where it works. Could you all test the S&S Diamondback or Side Winder? It’s in the name of science.
I know the numbers would probably be crap, but I really want to see a 107 with the 475, the S&S mini teardrop bassani down under duals and a megaphone Muffler like the cheap Sharkroad, or the expensive CFR. That's my dream setup for my 19 Street Glide Standard
very nice video, good info..keep it up
I would have liked to see the Thunderheader results
Top notch info! Mucho thanks! 🤘
Can we look at baggers? Thunderheader vs d&d vs jackpot?
Awesome! Thanks for making this video
I wish you would have dynoed a vance and hinds pro pipe
Thanks chris, your the man! By all means, if yall get a chance to try the blockhead exhaust on a sportster (883 and/or 1200)! That would be awesome! Thanks block fam!
Science! I like these comparisons.
CHRIS IS THE MAN!!!!
Good work Chris!! I wish I had your knowledge👍
Even if the s&s was the worst performance wise i would still choose it , in black tho. The look and sound ! amazing. Thank you for this comparison and detailed recap of the torque & horses. Keep it up blockhead team ! #horsepowerbae 🙂
Hey why don't you guys ever test Bassani very much? I've got the Bassani High HP pipe and I've been waiting for daaaaaays haha.
We don’t own one and they declined to be a sponsoring manufacturer. Send me yours and I’ll add it to the test inventory
Definitely have to try out a Graffeo mohawk pipe…..you know horsepower science and all
Good video. Good info thanks
Great video..Thanks!
