Got 6 minutes in and had to turn off it is awful. The constant inane chatter and trying to be funny was tedious, if you are going to compare bikes at least know what you are doing. Slow riding with both feet down, ok it's a DCT feather the rear brake in lieu of a clutch... BIG THUMBS DOWN FROM ME
Pretty much. Shocking knowledge. My kid brother knows more about these bikes. More research less chitter. It’s like power rangers presentation. All this video is missing is Yammie noob and his crap adobe stock cutouts.
GW for touring and long highway stints. ADV for twisty roads and commuting. Both fill a very different roll and do it well, but comparing them to each other is almost apples and oranges.
That’s funny to hear you say that - I sort the bagger Gold Wing (not the tour version) as commuting and lunch outings, ADV (GS) as twisties and touring 😂
If it wasn't for DCT, I'd go Goldwing for touring, but the CFM Moto for commuting. My new to me RT cost me $5K and I've done a 45 minute interoffice commutes with no complaints. Plus I love it on the curves.
it is two totally different things being compared. however, it was a great success on how you all did it. hope you got to swap to see which one you did like. cheers.
I freaking love my 2019 Goldwing Tour. Only thing I’d trade it in for is an updated version with the radar cruise and blind spot monitor. I do wish it had more of a forward control option. The highway pegs you can get for it just don’t feel right to me. Other than that, it’s got what I want.
Commuting in the US is completely different to the UK where manoeuvrability is an absolute must which isn’t something the Goldwing has. We can lane split as you Americans call it
@@mikejacks1939 same for me, i'm between Paris and Brussels, i find my GW non tour easier than my GS that is wider especially with the cases, i don't see the problem and DCT makes the commute even more relax
The ibex 800T has a quickshifter for both up and down shifting. Going from that to my r3 after I had gotten used to it was a bit weird since I had been riding my r3 for just over a year
I will take a GW any day of the week over an IBEX. To be honest I wouldn't own any CF Moto product, for a multitude of reasons. But even a Rebel 1100T(same price range, kind of the same role as GW) would be in my garage before an IBEX.
Chase, How would you pair the IBEX with the Pan American? Besides price, they are relativity the same in weight and seat height. Obvisouly, the HD would costly to maintain compared to the CF. However, if going across the country, there are more HD shops. Which would you choose if money wasn't an issue?
My IBEX has a Garmin ZUMO XT2 mounted above the TFT and is amazing for Navigation. It also pairs to my Cardo nicely and you can control the music from phone through the ZUMO... it's sick!
You cannot seriously compare any Goldwing to your IBEX for cruising or any other machine for that matter it is the king of smooth mile crunching miles on pavement. An older Goldwing still has the fastest record through the tail of the dragon which is incredible.
This isn't even a competition. I don't know much about the ibex but it seems very similar to the BMW F850GS and I've ridden a lot of the F series bikes. I have also ridden a lot of the new style goldwings both DCT and manual. I commute on my bikes 4 days a week all year round and that's only because I have to drive my truck sometimes and before I bought that, I didn't own a 4 wheeled vehicle for about 6 or 7 years. That being said, I have a little experience riding bikes as a form of transportation and not just as a play thing... The goldwing: The DCT absolutely sucks in slow speed compared to a traditional motorcycle and I personally hate the way they handle in general. The weight alone makes the goldwing a total turd for commuting. The only thing it is good for is crushing miles on the highway... But what do you do with your gear when you get to your destination? You can fit a helmet in the trunk of the touring model but I don't think you can get most full face helmets in the saddlebags. Rounding it out, I believe most people get low to mid 40s for MPG on the goldwing... Not great for a bike. Since I don't know much about the Ibex, I will compare to my bikes. I have a 2012 NC700X with the full suite of Givi Trekker cases that is my favorite commuter and a 2015 CB500F that I love as an all around bike with the Honda saddlebags and a Givi trunk. The NC700X has 166 liters of storage and I can fit all of my riding gear in any one of the cases which means that myself and a passenger can put our gear in the bike and still fully utilize the trunk and frunk. The CB500F has 96 liters of storage and can take all my gear in the trunk or two helmets, making it better for solo commuting and riding but still great. They both are right around or under 500 pounds even with everything on them making them an obvious choice over the goldwing in town. As far as fuel, I get 70-80 MPG on both in town and 50 with the 500 and 60s with the 700 on the highway like I ride normally for my commute, again not much of a competition. Now, my biggest issue with touring bikes like the goldwing is heat. This is very subjective based on where you live though. I live in Florida and I have never sweat more on a bike than when I ride a fully faired touring bike in the summer so I generally don't go for bikes with fairings or windshields. If you live in the cold though, I do love the coverage to cut through the cold winter winds. I personally just deal with it with insulated gear in the winter here and I'm perfectly comfortable down to about 40 degrees, and then the heated gloves and snow pants come out.
I have a 2018 Wing Tour 6MT and a 2022 Base MT-09. The Wing pretty much wrecks the MT-09 in everything but hooligan. The Wing has a tighter turning radius than the MT-09 at full lock and does fantastic with a run flat car tire on the back. Wing can be commuted on or cross a continent. It has the best non super sport bike brakes I've ever ridden. For those that say you can't commute in the UK on a Wing,,, BS. I've worked and ridden in the UK and the Wing would be fine in London or anywhere in the UK. Mine weights 840 lbs. wet and ready to go bags empty and it rides like a 500 lb bike. CFMoto nope all that are seen should be destroyed. I hated to hear Yamaha jumped into bed with CFMoto and you can see it in the new MT-09. I've bought my last new bike from the use to be great company.
Gee, I wonder which one will be better for daily commuting and which 1 will be better for highway driving? I'll have to waste 45 minutes and find out.😂😂😂
i go for Ibex when it comes to commuting and parking it in secluded areas but some catnip intoxicated dudes will intend to scratch a goldwing would be like someone spitting on you 21 thousand dollar cash that you didnt even know who does it. dont leave highly expensive bikes on a public parking lot, or it will be a dream threatening choice.

With DCT you can simulate the clutch by riding against the rear brake in slow speed maneuvers.
no disrespect but as a southeast asian, I would nail the maneuverability challenge effortlessly especially on those tight spaces.😂

Only an American would think a goldwing is a commuter bike 😂
At least the americans have wide enaugh lanes to fit both a car and a goldwing side by side 😅
That’s because we aren’t “filtering” through crazy London traffic at low speeds. We’re “lane splitting” on a wide open highway at 90mph all day.
Damn, the Honda Goldwing is a better bike than I thought, although I can't afford one, and I still want a clutch, impressive none the less...
GW is available without the DCT in a fully Manual transmission
Goldwing for touring. In California you can split lines, so my little Kawasaki, Z400 or a Honda 300 R.
