Taken away by the wafts of Santal Majuscule I failed to clarify what I meant by false minimalism. Employing sandalwood, rose and patchouli in a fragrance might seem minimalistic and it is, but the ingredients are themselves so lush in their olfactive offering, that I wonder if we can truly call the resulting scent truly minimalistic. I think we can, as, after all, less is more.
Ditto! Serge Lutens makes me excited too! He has pulled out of the US! So will be some blind buys in my future. This one sounds great. I hope your Nahema doesn’t get jealous you are hanging around with a younger rose hiding behind sandalwood!
for me, this one and "five o'clock au gingembre" are in the easy to wear (though that opening is quite intense but also alluring) and pleasant but not groundbreaking lutens category. between santal majuscule, tam dao and santal noble (maitre parfumeur et gantier), i settled on santal noble because it's a bit more dry and "classic", and their 30ml bottles for 60 euros are priced fair
@@MemoryFlo yeah i feel MPeG is quite underrated these days, though some people are complaining with the classic phrase "new versions are watered down". i also like Bois de Turquie a lot from them (bay leaf, orange, iris, myrrh , sandalwood). it doesn't project much but the longevity is good, and im thinking of buying the big bottle during black friday or winter holidays when they usually have 20% off sales. Parfum d'Habit is also interesting, and the 3 ambers (dore, precieux, mythique) are great. mythique is potent but i don't get along with tonka bean 😁
Hello my friend. I am also worshipping st the altar of Serge Lutens. I haven’t tried this one, though, so this is especially interesting. Hope you are having a wonderful summer so far. PS: I live for the cat peeps + appearances.
I have! I had it some years ago. To my nose it was a burned candied lemon. It was very interesting but unwearable to me so I gave it away, and don’t miss it 😂
@@MemoryFlo depends. I’m still testing them out myself. Imperial Wood / Swedish wood. Forever love. Patchouli Dust. Iris love ( I dont own a citrus grapefruit for the heat, this would be my buy for that ) But I got the discovery set. Are you into leathers ?

excellent point about nahema! sad to hear about SL no longer being on the US market, maybe it's a temporary thing?

I love this one too, great on ladies too! ❤
It is great, isn’t it?
I get the same physical feeling from Incense as you do from Sandalwood. I feel it at the base of my tongue and the top of my mouth.
Yay, thanks for confirming i’m not weird 😂
Majestic !
isn't it?
Have you smelled, Bapteme du Feu. ?? I have it.

@@MemoryFlo its very unique. I get no lemon. I smell ginger, gunpowder and musk. Ambre Sultan is one of my favs. tho. 🤗

Forgot if I asked you, have you smelled anything from PANA DORA?
